  1. Tried the app but it said “no plan’s available “. Maybe too early, cruise is in September.
  2. Booked through the casino and got the “free balcony cabin”. Upgraded to a mini ( that was as high as they let me go). It came with no perks except for free play and my deposit turns into onboard credit once onboard. Went on the website to add WiFi. We don’t drink alcohol and saw only two options. One includes drinks, tips and exercise ( don’t make me laugh) and one , is a fortune that includes additional garbage. Am I out of luck. My husband will go nuts. Can I call and add it for him or maybe once onboard. Please let me know. Thanks
  3. My phone uses AT&T. You can go on their website and book for $50 their cruise package. Talk and text for a month. They have a list of all the ships covered including NCL, Celebrity and Princess. I do it every cruise. We have used the phone multiple times in the past for family emergency and doctor calls. Once my husband broke a tooth in Japan and we called from Tokyo to book an appointment for the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend . We drove right from the airport to the office. If we didn’t have phone coverage ……
  4. I too bring a ton of medical. But I always have. Especially important now that the ships don’t sell you even Tylenol without seeing the doctor. We bring Tylenol, Advil, Aleve , thermometer, bandaids, cortisone cream, bacitracin, pepto in chewable and , liquid, Bonine, Glyoxide, Aquaphor, Zyrtec-D, Benadryl, Chestall ( a great homeopathic cough medicine) and Chloroseptic throat lozenges. Just in case.
  5. We have been on three Celebrity cruises, two NCL cruises, a RCCL cruise, two American cruise line cruises and one long Princess cruise since start up. We are triple vaccinated and boostered. I wear a mask in the airport and on the plane and in the casino ( especially if people are blowing smoke) . To our knowledge, we have not gotten Covid. I’m a little nervous when I go anywhere but we are well into our 70s and I don’t want to miss my favorite thing in the whole world ( except my grandkids). We are taking one set in February on NCL from NY to Bahamas and the other to Greece in June on the Celebrity Constellation. Everyone in our extended family has had Covid despite Being fully vaccinated. The ten year old got walloped last month with combo Covid and flu. I think this is the world now, and with reasonable protection we can still enjoy life.
  6. We are staying at the Niche Hotel with a view of the acropolis and walking distance of the old town restaurants.
  7. Why do people do anything. Once on a Princess ship the whole line was out for a day because they were used somewhere along the line.
  8. They will go bonkers if you use flushable wipes
  9. We are on Celebrity Constellation in June to Greece. We have three concierge cabins in a row. My son and Daughter-in-law are in the middle one and it connects to the one on their left. When I booked I was told that this was the only way my grandkids could be in the separate cabin legally. ( what you choose to do after boarding is up to you. But this way the two adults have the liquor package and the kids 17 and 15 have the soda package with no problem.
  10. When the shoreside concierge contacts you they will definitely make your specialty restaurant reservations for your group. And you can have anyone you want in your room. You aren’t in the Haven proper so why not. Your butler will be very happy to plan a party and will give you a list of what’s possible. Please give him a nice tip.
  11. There is a bar in the concierge open for happy hour approx. 5-7 every evening, very social. It two things to remember, the suite itself is luxurious , unlimited laundry, fruit, flowers and the ambiance on the ship is wonderful. The cruise staff is very hands on, many funny programs. They did an exceptional night at the Oscar’s once that had us laughing so hard. No matter what cruise we take when I see the sea witch logo , I smile.
  12. Yes first night free for specialty. The Suite concierge can change reservation as to time and restaurant as soon as you board. Once they actually changed the day too. One cruise we ate every night in a specialty restaurant because the overall cost of the cruise was so low. The food is not bad in the MDR. Something’s they always made well. Pasta, soups, cake, salads, turkey dinner, fried chicken . When they serve lobster tail, tell them to leave off the strange white sauce. Alfredo’s pizza is terrific and in a suite you will get an outstanding special breakfast every morning with a mimosa included at Sabatinis.
  13. The Regal Princess has always been our favorite ship. It just has magic. The feeling on the ship is happy. The entertainment staff goes all out. Princess full suites are wonderful with great storage and large bathrooms ( big shower). The food on Princess has gone steadily downhill and is ok not as good as MDR on Celebrity. There is smoking in the casino ( really terrible). Entertainment on Princess is better than Celebrity especially the comedians ( but not as good as NCL). Itineraries much more interesting on Princess. They have a lock on Alaska. If you can get the Sanctuary ( a big if) you will be in heaven but even you have an owners suite you have to run with the bulls to get signed up. There is no butler, no suite restaurant ( just club class roped off section) no free suite sundeck . The suite concierge on the Regal and newer ships can be very helpful and they host a happy hour. Princess is much less expensive. We have cruises Princess 35 times since 1990 but now book Celebrity suites two to one. No smoking in the casino is important to me.
  14. Don’t wait. Reservations are in high demand. Book for the four of you as soon as you can and either straighten it out once on board or have them pay you back another way.
  15. In the Haven we tip the concierge and butler at the end of the cruise either the amount depending on how much we asked of them. We always tip the steward a little extra first day and last. I tip a few dollars to the bar server and casino server every time. Whether in the Haven or not. NCL is so much fun and lively and jolly but it will be a shock coming from Regent ( we’ve been and done) and Silversea ( not for us).
  16. That’s sad. Even Princess does a better job. For suites and Elite. And so far the suite level on Royal Caribbean and NCL Haven are tops. And Celebrity suites are so expensive! Hopefully it will be better treatment once on board. Also our first time on the Edge, so I’m nervous about that. We loved the Reflection, Equinox and Eclipse
  17. Thank you. I will look for the retreat signs. We will come at our designated time of 11:00 just in case. Can’t wait, it was 11 degrees last night.
  18. In March , we are doing it again but this time it’s a RS ( first time) does this change anything?
  19. We are sailing in January on the Edge in the retreat ( first time). Is there a separate line? We have 11:00 boarding. Is that important for the retreat? Thanks
  20. That's great. I've been sorry since I booked this cruise through the casino. My husband keeps saying ( so annoying) you get what you pay for. If I cancel, I lose the deposit.
  21. Does anyone know if we can upgrade once the bidding process starts. Or are we denied that chance too?
  22. My kids and grandkids stayed at the Hampton Inn and used the package. They said it was great and we’re on the road to DC at the end of the cruise around 10. The shuttle to the ship and pick up worked great. They would do it again. Totally hassle, worry free.
