  1. On the Edge and just ate in Eden. No shows or music but the best food on the ship. The waitstaff is excellent and very friendly. They encouraged us to order three or four appetizers to share before the main. We ordered a crab cake, potato gnocchi a salad, and risotto. All were good with gnocchi outstanding. I had the lobster casserole ( delicious) and after dessert they bring a tray of miniature cookies. Took about an hour-hour and half.
  2. We have the Mexican station on the Edge. Tacos, fajitas guacamole beans etc. in the buffet for lunch
  3. Or Princess! Had Crème Brûlée in Eden last night
  4. A couple we met on board has $1400 in OBC ! I have no idea what category suite they are in but it must be a doozy. He said he’s buying $1400 worth of tee shirts and selling them on the dock for $5 😁
  5. Yes you are wise. We booked a specific cruise and stateroom
  6. We have WiFi , tips and beverages included but of course you could use OBC for those expenses including Spa
  7. The deposit for a Sky suite was $100 per person fully refundable
  8. We are on the Edge and booked a cruise for next January. I have $800 in OBC and was told that I absolutely couldn’t use it for my deposit. It can be used for specialty restaurants, purchases in the shops, excursions and in the casino. Period
  9. Currently we are on the Edge coming into Antigua. Yesterday we came into port 15 minutes early and cleared to disembark an hour later. Everyone got off whenever they wanted. Announcement made to meet your excursion’s at assigned places usually on the dock. They have been fanatical about returning on time.
  10. We are going from Athens on the Connie ending in Ravenna in June. For bus transfers to the Venice ( Marco Polo) from the ship you have to call Celebrity. I believe they are $58 a person and take 2 hours. Supposedly they have a bus that drops you at the Venice bus station too. Since we are staying in Venice before flying home we 6 arranged for private van that includes a pre called vaporetto directly to the hotel. But it is a fortune at $960 for the six of us and all our luggage. . We used to like the Princess packs that included transfers on both ends and hotel. I called and Celebrity doesn’t do that anymore. Since we are flying in the morning the bus transfer to the airport wouldn’t work as they don’t guarantee the time they would get you to the airport with traffic etc. on the day the ship docks.
  11. Also there’s ton of stuff they have that aren’t written down. You have to just know. Like chocolate cake, ice cream with fudge sauce, baked potato with sour cream and chives, dish of mixed steamed vegetables
  12. No filet in classics. Chicken breast, Salmon, and NY Strip . The steak is grey, thin and tasteless with some kind of au jus. It reminded me of the line in the movie Meatballs ( mystery meat). Basically the appetizers and desserts are very good ( had a delicious Burrata cheese and tomato appetizer last night) the mains poor. My chunk of Duck was hard, over cooked and tasteless with no sauce or glaze. So now we order four appetizers and if the main is bad at least we’re ok. And that’s Luminae! By the way the ship is packed. All suites sold out. Great service.
  13. Currently on the Edge in a celebrity suite. Luminae is open for lunch only on sea days. There are few choices. The first day they did serve a lobster roll that bore no resemblance to former ones. Two small pieces mixed in with greens. After not finding anything to our liking in main courses we have booked with our generous OBC specialty restaurants for most of the nights. Last night Eden was very good. Lobster casserole outstanding as was the gnocchi . the always available in Luminae is best bet. escargot, onion soup, caesar salad. Once they had a really delicious Bibb lettuce with pine nuts. But the mains are a real disappointment. The cannelloni bore no resemblance to anything Italian. And you can’t order from the MDR as it’s too far away
  14. We are on the Connie with family to Greece This June. That would be terrible.
  15. Yes. But I think it is a mistake.. the food was mediocre and you still have to pay out of pocket for the milkshake. We took the Breakaway out of New York and the diner is outside and freezing.
  16. Celebrity suite. Jess ( Butler) removed the rocking chair ( I tripped over it twice) took one chair front the balcony to replace it. And brought me a lounge. I’m in Heaven. Great service.
  17. Good news. They put up four gigantic umbrellas on the sundeck. Still plenty of sunny spots but at least those of us that need shade have a shot. Bad news, lobster roll had two little bites of lobster. Good news, they promised to remove the rocking chair, after I tripped over it twice and they are giving me a lounge chair on my balcony. The two concierges Alexandra and Yullie both from Ukraine are lovely and helpful. Casino looks great .
  18. Just boarding the Edge for Caribbean. The App asks vaccination status and if you are boostered. Also you need to affirm that in the last 24 hours you have not been sick ( fever, sore throat, congestion etc). Otherwise we have passports and printed x-press passes ( also on phone). Then watch the safety video ( takes 30 seconds) also on app.
  19. Terminal 25. Signs for retreat to drop off luggage but police waved us away. We walked back. Terminal is gorgeous. Check in is in the retreat lounge similar to RCCL suite check in. No lines. They come to you. They took new photos. We watched the safety video on our phones. Lavish snacks. Our check in was 11 and we arrived around 10:30 and were ushered in.
  20. Boarding in 15 minutes. Happy to answer any questions.
  21. The key is that there were other family members and you had a great time. Maybe the rest of the ship offered more for those family members. We have sailed Regent which I found boring and Oceania ( good food and itineraries ( loved our cruise to Cuba) but now cruise NCL Haven and Celebrity Retreat. I love the Casinos and especially NCL entertainment. That’s what makes horse racing . Every time we eat in the Haven restaurant we found the food pretty good to very good and the service excellent. They were very accommodating. We like to eat early and make the early show and then have dessert after. No problem.
