  1. I've found when traveling, sea or land, that we 'dine' later. Busy days, a little rest, a cocktail. Dinnertime sneaks up on us.
  2. Thanks. Could you provide a citation that supports this?
  3. Difference between the two: The biggest difference has to do with the direction in which the money flows. With extortion, someone is generally threatening someone else to try to get money from that person. Or, they might be using threats to try to get a special service. With bribery, there is not necessarily a threat involved.
  4. Nope. You're so cute 🙂
  5. Well, since these are true corporations not some little mom and pop, I have to believe that the maitre de's and others have been instructed with the appropriate warnings.
  6. But it's a bribe, right? If you don't consider it a bribe, then what is it? Isn't a tip always afterwards for good food/service/etc.?
  7. Could you elaborate a smidge on that please. Is formal black tie or a nice jacket, dress shirt, tie and slacks. Stricter smart is that what O would like but doesn't enforce. Like Dockers and at least a collared, knit shirt, no tennis shoes? Thanks, sir.
  8. Thanks. I did a quick search of just two pages of his posts. A bit overwhelming 🙂 I'll contact CC as Kat suggested.
  9. The difference is that it only just started happening. And no one else has mentioned it. Oh wait, I'll give you a 'like' and you can see if you get an email with the "somebody." Thanks.
  10. Thanks so much. It's really not that important but it is odd. And no one else has commented on it. I'll do it tomorrow. Sweet dreams.
  11. Thanks. But I'm saying that the email notifications are now saying "somebody" rather "czarina clo."
  12. Thank you but I still don't understand the point.
  13. I really don't know what that means. With due respect.
  14. WOW! That's incredible. From both sides. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Thanks for the tips and I'll check them out. But I wasn't clear. The subject line of my emails say literally SOMEBODY reacted to a post in a topic Not the usual screen name of the person. And it's only for the "react" feature not comments. I'm sure I can get used to it but since it's new I thought I'd ask. Thanks, Kat. (BTW, one of my nicknames is Cat.)
  16. That's us. Pre-covid we cruised from Rio to Buenos Aires. Afterwards we agreed that we should have just flown into Rio, spent a week, then flown into BA for another week and then home. Those interim ports were pretty ho-hum to us.
  17. I believe it was yesterday that a few emails from CC had the words "somebody reacted to a post in a topic" but when I look at the post it's seems to be just a regular 'react.' I got a bunch of them today. What's this about? Please.
  18. IMneverHO, it is absolutely a bribe. Makes my flesh crawl.
  19. Wanting a second dinner at Jacques we asked for a shared table. Totally nice couple. What was kinda interesting is that we didn't time our dining to match.
  20. Oh, of course. But if I say and do nothing then at the very least I can feel guilty. And I've 'inspired' a few others to do the same.
  21. Ah, okay. Please understand that I occasionally boycott 'corporations.' And I let them know I'm doing it. And if I'm spending money somewhere I DO care how they spend my money. PS: Walmart, I'm talking to you. 🙂
  22. LOL. In one way or the new other, that money is still mine/ours. I just never thought of this before.
  23. So do they publicize that? Thinking about it, I'm honestly surprised. They have costs involved in dealing with the money.
