  1. Just saw this FWIW. US military leaders press Israel to shift from major combat as Iranian-backed ship attacks escalate https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-war-major-combat-operations-austin-b201d682a10735c0bc6847359edeca8b
  2. Oh I hear you. Those "wardrobe pieces" just stay in a different area of my closet and get worn for years sometimes. PS: I don't think I've ever owned a "sundress." 🙂
  3. To each their own. For sure. We've done a few cruises and some escorted land trips. Each have their plus and minuses. We also continue to do DIY as I call it. There's just so much of the world that is unavailable from a ship. And for some people that's fine. Even more than fine. But not for us. At some point I suppose we won't be well enough for DIYs (in our 70s now) but then we may switch to trains. Good luck.
  4. Whereas I'd order the sea bass but not the fish and chips. Always.
  5. I was referring to the restaurant not the play caller.
  6. I read that article. ONE company said they'd stop and look at it again in three days. None other that I saw made any commitment whatsoever.
  7. A treat just for you 🙂 Jacques pistachio creme brulee.
  8. A few years ago and I'll never forget how hot I was 🙂
  9. Why don't pax (you???) address the crew member and ask for change. If nothing occurs I'd go find a supervisor and bring them to the site.
  10. Well, as long as we're talking, we were in SE Asia on a land trip. 100F and 95% humidity!
  11. Thanks for the short and sweet and all that's necessary reply.
  12. Those were the best I've ever had or fixed myself. Crazy good.
  13. I can't even imagine buying clothes for a cruise or really any other travel. If it's warm destination I just pull out stuff from my summer 'wardrobe.' Honestly, what's up with that please?
  14. If a ship required it I wouldn't travel with them. Stupid.
  15. I was chatting with a United pilot a couple of years ago. Re 9/11 he said they went from hijacking to terrorism overnight. Just an fyi.
  16. Talk about small ships! The one for our Norwegian coastal cruise was the Lofoten, the oldest one in their fleet, and now retired. Only 100 pax. And, yes, we had pax who were on and off, perhaps shopping at one port and then going home. They had their own area but it was really nice with boothw and bar right there! Also freight. There was a small crane at the front. IIRC we made 17 stops in each direction, all day and all night. And we never woke up. The staff were terrific and the officers were at breakfast every morning. The food really good. I think there were only two other Americans which we really liked. Some spoke English and some didn't. Regarless super nice. (I could go on and on.)
  17. I'm partial to Hurtigruten which was founded in 1893 (had to look it up). We did their Antarctica cruise a few years ago and liked it so much we did their round trip Norwegian coastal cruise.
  18. And help save the planet in the process. From the person who buys shoes made from recycled water bottles!
