I'm gonna go off topic here and ask if you live on Maui? I think especially the West Coast people have been just devastated by the fire in Lahaina. It seems like we've all been there at least once. Anyway best wishes, Cat.

I'd honestly rather have the server arrived with a special dessert to be shared and a nice card wishing the person(s) happy whatever. Those public, loud things I find just embarrassing .

I believe I read and article about that. How there's so much plant life on it that will be carried to other places. When you say "taking a ride" does that mean leaving the ship and going in zodiaks?

I tell ya what. Having this miles refund benefit which, honestly, didn't mean all that much to us, sure does now. To the point that I'm wondering if we should only travel to certain places ON miles.

Temp on the ships was 50ish - outside. Shorts weather for some of us.

That is hilarious!!!!!! Here were two guys from our ship. We were told the water was close to freezing.

I had no idea that O and other ships that size could allow passenger off! But I guess it depends on how far from shore they are?

I've been reading this and honestly am (almost) amazed. Just how long do you need to stand there before you pretty much seen all you need/want to see? Let others in please.

So when you booked were the excursions already 'sold out.' Not an Amazon trip, but we booked a trip in 9/23 for 7/24 and got all the shore excursions right then.

On our expedition cruise we and plenty of others wore shorts and tees when on the ship.

We didn't travel intl for three years due to covid so our 'award miles' got nice and big. So a flight 5/23 and the one coming up 7/24 are 'letting us have' Polaris J class to Europe. When we have to start buying such things it's going to be something else to think about. I do like the idea of planning a land trip to the same area(s).

Ah, yes, steak 🙂 Somewhere I have some photos of a dinner we had. We shared two mains - one beef of course - a bottle of wine and a dessert and IIRC it was about US$30. I didn't know until we were there that Italians settled in BA. We saw loads of fresh pasta, meats, cheeses. And THE best beef. Mmm.

I wonder if the particular time/month has anything to do with it. We were there in early January, so pretty much midsummer. We LOVE Buenos Aires. Especially the great Italian food 🙂

Right. I have a 'buddy' with Oceania who I have booked with and then transferred to my TA. Before doing that I asked about commissions and he confirmed what you said.

Oh, sorry I can't. It's been 8 or 10 years. If I were there I could probably want to a couple. But I'm really into food and, honestly, I google and find reputable, local sources. They haven't failed me yet.
