Not at all what you're asking but I'll toss it in just in case. No one - outside of government I suppose - calls it anything other than Saigon. Have a great time.
Many years I ran a little contest. I tried to remember what anyone I worked with had worn to work the previous day. Women only as the male component was too easy. Didn't get a single one. So, yeah, I pack like you do.
A few years ago we cruised on Hurtigruten, one of their small Norwegian coastal cruises. IIRC of the 100 (!) pax there were only two other "Americans." And that mad it even better in our opinion. And it wasn't our first cruised.
If people start to play cards, knit, whatever, I can see a staff member coming up and in a very polite but firm tone saying "I'm sorry folks but we ask that passengers leave the food tables once they're finished eating." And then just stand there.
Pretty OT here but I've wondered why people are so 'hot to trot' to get on board. I know there are different kinds of ports but I generally seek out some restaurant whose menu sounds good and have lunch there before boarding, You'll have tons of the same food - albeit good - for the next 7/14/forever days.
