  1. Cruise ships dock in multiple places in Stockholm. You should tell which location you will be docked at.
  2. Look here for vaccination requirements... https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-vaccines-are-required-to-travel-on-a-cruise and for testing requirements... https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise
  3. I would certainly call them and ask. Make sure they don't have to reprice it to current pricing, unless the price is still the same and all other perks remain the same.
  4. Have you found the Italy ports forum yet? Lots of information there. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/464-italy-ports/
  5. Everyone has preferences, for sure. I personally love the idea. I see it as added full-time living space and can easily see myself sitting in that area whether the window is open or not. I also think it is worthy of a premium price over a standard balcony. I do think there will be an increase in cabin door slamming due to rush of air from the open window similar to how doors currently slam if you let go of them while the balcony door is open. To each his own.
  6. You are not committed at that point. You can turn the refundable setting on and off to view the pricing impact back and forth. You aren't committed until you enter your credit card info and then click to proceed.
  7. Do your kids have the unlimited internet plan or one that has a fixed number of minutes? Unless they have unlimited, they will need to learn to sign in and out each and every time they use the Internet. Otherwise, if they don't sign out, their clock will keep ticking against the # of minutes purchased. Signing in and out of the package is done using the phone's web browser and not done on the phone's wifi settings screen. Signing on and off the package minutes is different than turning wifi on and off. If they have unlimited wifi, then it doesn't really matter.
  8. Are all 5 cabins on the exact same reservation number? That is a requirement for the promotion to ensure they are on the same flight. NCL previously allowed one to link multiple reservations (for a fee, I believe) to ensure they were all on the same flight, but they removed that option from the terms a few months ago I believe presumably because they ran into capacity issues which made that difficult to do. In the promo terms they indicate how many stops they will "try" to limit the overall flight too. However, they add "when possible; air schedule permitting" to the terminology, so they possibly ran out of options for their booking process. The airline might be limiting the quantity they will sell at NCL's reduced rate, for example, or the flight might be full, for example. From NCL's Terms & Conditions webpage: "For Domestic flights, Norwegian Cruise Line will book guests' airfare with a maximum of one connection when possible; air schedules permitting. For International flights, Norwegian Cruise Line will book guests' airfare with a maximum of two connections when possible; air schedules permitting." If you requested 1 day deviation and 3 of your bookings are made for 2 day deviation, then that would seem worthy of asking NCL to make changes. However, I think I have read of others who have had similar bookings. Again, NCL may be booking 2 days out since that is what is available. Good luck. I'm not sure you will get NCL to make any changes.
  9. Well, I have been to both. The museum is a wonderful museum and well worth visiting. It has a very nice outdoor viewing area where you can look up at the Acropolis. Notice that the angle of the upper portion of the building was specifically placed to mirror the angle of the Parthenon itself. Only you can decide if a museum is worthwhile to you personally or not. https://www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en Also, I have learned to not trust the sequence of stops that are included in shore excursion descriptions, especially in Europe. I have found that hired excursion companies often visit their stops in varying orders to decrease the number of buses that appear at any location at one time. There may be 3 buses for the same excursion. One will visit the stops in ABCDE order and another may do it in EDCBA order while another does it in CBDAE order. Your experience may differ.
  10. I just did a random search on ncl.com. I selected Europe-Mediterranean cruises and nothing else. So all dates in the future. That returns 62 cruises with "Solo Discounts". You can see "Solo Cruiser Discount" listed in the "More Offers" section of this screen shot. When you hover your mouse over that offer, it says "Solo cruises pay less than 200% on select staterooms". Notice the "SELECT staterooms" qualifier. You won't know which cabin categories reflect a discount until you go further thru the booking process. And YES, your May 29th Sky cruise currently shows solo discounts available. Again, on select cabins.
  11. I would assume they are making this requirement to attempt to decrease the possibility that someone MIGHT need significant treatment for Covid when the ship is not due to be in a port for multiple days. That's the commonality of TransAtlantic/Pacific cruises and Hawaii to Vancouver. Obviously, anyone can get a fake test result picture to show if they want. The cruise line can't always prevent people's dishonesty. But they can try to minimize their risk or expenses. My guess is that this is a policy based on experiences in the past.
  12. You can find solo "discounts" on many cruises at any time. They don't necessarily promote them as a "sale" however. You just need to search for them. On the NCL home page, use the standard search capabilities and select the "More Filters" link on the right side. Change your # of Guests to be 1. Then you will be able to select "Solo Cruise Discount" as an option, which will find cruises with a current solo discount. Since it seems you already have cruises booked, all you can do is to keep looking at your cruises to see if/when they offer a solo discount on it. They do not always. They seem to do these discounts as the cruise gets closer and they have a quantity of rooms available. In other words, they are doing whatever they can to fill rooms. I don't know that I have ever seen an NCL Solo promotion across the board on all cruises.
  13. Which museums? This looks like it is an official site for several… (I found it by doing a Google search). https://www.visitmuve.it/en/home/
  14. I just followed the entire itinerary on Google Earth. It's a pretty amazing itinerary. So many, many stops. But most importantly, it stops in both Coco Caye and Nassau, Bahamas! 😂
  15. At the time of booking, when done on the website, you have the ability to selectively decide which of the Free At Sea perks you wish to include. Deselecting the drink package or the dining package removes it and also removes the associated auto-gratuity for that selection. They don't let you deselect the $50 excursion credit or the internet package because those don't have any gratuities associated with them, so they don't save you by deselecting them. You can see this by doing a mock booking on ncl.com up to the point where you define your promotional offer. If you booked via a travel agent or via NCL call center, you probably had the same flexibility, but weren't necessarily told about it. I have no idea if you can alter this after initial booking. When you say "though they tell us we can change free at sea promotions up until 2 or 3 days beforehand"... who is "they"? Perhaps "they" can tell you how to do what you want to do. What I see in the current promotion terms is "Free at Sea choice(s) must be selected at least 24 hours prior to sailing and cannot be changed on board." It doesn't really say anything about changing them once you have made them from what I'm seeing. But perhaps if you call enough times, someone can do it who knows how to do it.
  16. I would also consider taking the non-English tour, assuming it goes to Oia. It's the sites you're there to see, not so much the narration of a guide. If there is an Oia tour, I'd take that one and then perhaps leave that tour early in Oia and spend the rest of the day on your own. Assuming you're comfortable figuring out how to get back to Fira. You might also be able to "trade" for an English tour once you get on the ship.
  17. Not that it will comfort you much, but on any cruise that I have tried, I've been able to purchase a post-cruise transfer once on the ship from guest services. I just go early in the cruise to in case they have a cut-off date. For what it's worth, For my upcoming May cruise, I have purchased a bus transfer from Ravenna to Venice Airport, but I had to call twice to get it. The first person didn't really know anything about it. He said all he could sell me was a private car transfer, which made no sense. So I ended that call and tried again the next day where I got a more knowledgeable agent who knew how to do it. By the way, transfers to Bologna were offered last year by Royal. Here is a photo of last years transfer schedule (from the ship) that someone else uploaded in another posting on the Europe-Italy forum.
  18. I'm with JB, it probably would work in the morning. If you run away from tour guide and bus upon arrival at Athinios, I doubt they would chase you down and force you on a bus. They may not be too happy with you, but you'd get your way if you insisted on it, I'm sure. I don't think it is something I would bother doing, but if you want to bad enough...
  19. In some ports, you can access the ship's wifi from inside the terminal building upon arrival because it's very close to the building. When that is the case, you can "pretend" you're on the ship and do anything you can do from inside the NCL app on your phone, such as make dinner/show reservations.
  20. Some suggest the "best" way is by paying one of the many private transfer companies frequently discussed in posts in this forum. They will pick you up at the ship and take you to your hotel in a private car. That personal service comes at a price. Others suggest taking shuttle busses from the ship to the train station and then taking a train into the city and then a taxi to your hotel is going to be less expensive. What is your definition of "best"? Review the various posts already in this forum. There are many that discuss this question.
  21. NCL onboard staff focus on selling you CruiseNext certificates rather than booking you on specific future cruises. These offer you a valuable discount and if you know you want a future cruise with NCL in the coming years, then you should look into buying one or more. There are some terms that you should be familiar with. https://www.ncl.com/cruisenext https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions#cruisenext I'm not sure that on-board staff will even help you book a specific cruise anymore. Maybe. I think they might just point you to the Internet cafe and suggest you book on your own. At one time, booking on board could get you one cabin category upgrade -- not an upgrade from Ocean View to Balcony, but rather Ocean View Category XX upgraded to Ocean View Category XY. This might still apply, but I don't really know.
  22. The Sky has a Spinnaker Lounge on Deck 11, with what looks like a nice, relaxing location looking out the front of the ship to enjoy down time on the ship. I have not personally been on the Sky, but was recently considering it. Picture here... https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/sky/whats-on-board/bars-lounges Deck Plans here -- see Deck 11 https://www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/sky/deck-plans But yes. This is a small ship by today's standards. With less space for everything.
  23. This is what I would do as well. If you're uncomfortable landing in the UK with zero pounds in hand, then convert a small amount from your local bank before leaving the US. I would get less than 100 pounds. You can just get what you need when you need it from ATMs. Notify both your credit card company and your ATM bank of your overseas travel.
  24. This video from that website pretty much shows you how well you can see the stones.
  25. This is the normal visitor experience. It has been for quite a few years now. There is, however, a VIP experience called the "Stone Circle Experience" which can be arranged to walk within the stones outside of normal operating hours. There is no touching of the stones on this tour either. However, ship excursions don't probably offer this option given the timing of the tours. With the normal visit, you still get quite close to the stones. It's not like you have to admire them from a hilltop 1/2 mile away.
