I feel the same. I have much affection for the Golden (sold) and the Grand, even the Crown. To us, this is Princess. I too wish that she had better maintained. We loved the Grand when sailing a long itinerary Alaska cruise in September 2022 out of Vancouver. We were about 5-6 hours late leaving port due to an engine issue. We left the dock (barely) and then backed right back in. Thankfully, it was fixed but the itinerary was changed and we missed a port; Icy Strait I think. The Captain was a sweetheart and EVERY PERSON (not cabin), received $125.00 in OBC.

Absolutely! And also for the Plus package. Those "creations" look disgusting. Gelato would save dollars in supplies and labor.

The balcony is long but not deep. It is as deep as the smaller balconies on the ship. Therefore, this is a cabin we would not book.

For that port, we booked a tour to Beaches of Normandy and it was well worth it. Otherwise, we were not impressed with the so-called "Welcome to Americans with money to spend". What a joke. The rudeness was palpable. This happened in a little town on our way back for a lunch stop. And also in another little stop in a town on the way back to the ship.

I guess we wonder how that group (those who shall not be named) were able to make that happen with the officers.

One floor will be more like traditional dining, at a slower pace. One floor will be more casual and dining at a faster pace. Then there is one in the middle (physically and concept wise). Sorry about that... see post #1728- much better explanation.

Once you get through security and Princess, you will be separated according to: Handicapped, Suites & Elite, Platinum. It is in that order that they will board. Remaining passengers are next. At least that has been our experience for the last two cruises.

Thank you. I very much appreciate your comments and am aware of the statement from Princess. I can only trust that the staff are indeed receiving ALL of what we pay out. And yes, it is a pleasure to give extra in cash to certain staff. We have been told that they do get to keep it.

I think it depends also on who the third person is.

We also cook the tender and the train station as @azbirdmomazbirdmom stated was an easy walk. We also got off at the correct station to walk to see the Book of Kells.

We were supposed to be on the Grand last April for Trans Pacific. There was an electrical issue that caused a few hundred aft cabins to be without power for about 4-5 days. We had booked an aft cabin and would have been moved elsewhere. In hindsight, I am.glad we cancelled. But we were on the Grand in September 2022 for Alaska and really enjoyed that ship.

We did the full transit in June 2018. Canal Day was very informative and entertaining for us. Onboard was a guest lecturer/ author. He did several educational talks in the Princess Theater before and after Canal Day. This was his 212th transit through the canal. On Canal Day, he spoke for about 10 hours non-stop. We could hear him out on deck and through the tv in our cabin. He was a wealth of information. At one point he pointed out the training camp where he was sent for boot camp before being sent to Viet Nam.

Thank you. I appreciate your information. It is very frustrating to know this. We typically book with Princess Plus but may need to rethink this. I do not think that the gratuities can be removed from the package on a daily basis. We are Platinum so can get the WiFi for half off. Personally, it is more fun to tip in cash for those who you intend to receive the Kudos.

We went in January 2018 and it was HOT and HUMID!!! My camera lens fogged up when going outside to take photos. I thought there was something flawed with my new lens!

I respectfully disagree that it is none of our business. We are the customer who creates the fact that the cruise line has a business. I believe in educated and wise Consumers.

I believe that in one thread you mentioned that the Ruby has received a high rating amongst the Princess ships. Can you please clarify that and direct one to finding the ratings of all of the Princess ships? Thanks

Please expand on that. I would be very disappointed if the auto- gratuities do not reach the intended recipients.

The casual dining venues are like Alfredo's; NOT the Crown Grill or Sabatinis. Without the package, Alfredo's is $14.99 per person.
