  1. We have done two East Coast cruises; both were in early to mid October. Please be aware that businesses may be closing down for the season as they we're when we went ( Bar Harbor for example). You would be going late in the season.
  2. I think Disney is pushing it and placing n their n guests in an uncomfortable position in what is supposed to be a vacation. We always get the Plus package which includes gratuities. However, like many, we enjoy tipping in cash to those who are extra special with attitude and service. (Cabin steward, wait staff, bartenders, room service)
  3. Do the research. We were interested in Virgin until I learned of the "activities" on the ship. However, we love their airline, Virgin Atlantic.
  4. Those numbers for the Sun are on their website; not agent hearsay or guesses.
  5. We looked at Virgin and after reading more about it, decided it was not our style. However, we love Virgin Atlantic Air.
  6. Welcome to Cruise Critic! That does seem odd. I looked up the Sky and it says Guests 2670 and Crew 1100.
  7. I appreciate your comments. However, it is odd that in that one post you quoted me, when it really was someone else; @Cruise Raider I believe. Tech issues, CC?
  8. Well, the new Sun Princess will have Park 19, aft. This will have "dry tube slides", a Splash Pad, a Rock Climbing Wall, jogging track........
  9. Sad to say, not at our Costco, but I will keep an eye out. We do have Total Wine too.
  10. I appreciate your Chardonnay experience. I also love oaky and buttery.
  11. Thanks. You are so correct. I am such a snob, that at home, I run my red through the "filter/ aerator" and then let it breathe in the lip-less wine glass. Yum! Thanks for the Caymus recommendation. Do you purchase it on land anywhere?
  12. That sounds excellent. And @capriccio is correct to suggest looking at the Patter. If you can not get into your cabin yet, I suppose you could ask for a copy at Guest Services.
  13. Actually, I enjoy a red after it has been breathing for a while. I am amazed at the difference. I have heard so much about Caymus and will give it a try.
  14. What is the Chardonnay you discovered? My go-to white is Chardonnay.
  15. LOL! Well, if it comes to you, then we all would be interested. I trust you have dug out from all of the snow and ice! Our daughters and SIL's missed a bit of work and grandkids a bit of school.
  16. What was the Zinfandel that you liked?
  17. Just ask which dining room is open for lunch. Staff really does not want you to know, but one of them is open.
  18. I think we need to form an "Aft" happy club. 😁
  19. We did that once and final payment was still due in full a year before boarding.
  20. Enjoy your cruise! We did the full transit on the Coral in January 2018. We were able to go through the old locks. Our onboard commentator and lecturer was amazing. I think he said it was like his 217th transit (maybe more). He pointed out the place where he trained for Vietnam (ugh... hot and muggy). Even though it is January, it does not cool off until after leaving Cabo and heading north.
  21. Bummer... we were on the Regal in 2018 and loved that ship. It sounds like some upkeep is needed.
  22. We are Platinum and had the Plus also for our cruise last June. Even though it stated RIGHT ON THEIR OWN website that there was no charge, we were charged anyway. DH did not know any better and ordered them anyway.
  23. There is a fee and it can be tough to get reservations as they can only be made after boarding. I have read comments that if it is important to guests, then they RUN to the sanctuary to make their reservations.
  24. Seriously, you are the BEST competitor I have seen for this competition on the ships! Congrats!!!
