  1. I have discovered that when I book through my TA's website, that I can find the balconies that I want, even though Princess has only guaranteed available.
  2. It seems like cabins become "Guaranteed" status as the cruise books up. In the beginning this is not the case.
  3. Especially with the current issue of flight delays, we do not book for same day arrival as emnarkation. Even under "normal" circumstances, same day arrival is not a good idea.
  4. You will have a decent sized balcony on the Riviera deck versus the Aloha deck.
  5. I only had the fogging issue on our full transit Panama Canal cruise. After 4 Alaska cruises, never had this issue.
  6. One of my photography teachers always said to take the shot as perfect as possible the first time.
  7. What is funny, is that most of my friends and other classmates were just about my height when we were in high school. So, I thought that was "normal" and never thought of myself as on the shorter side. Maybe it was the water......... LOL
  8. Very cool! Thanks for the tip. We loved Regal L103, however, when you are 5'3", it is tough. The people next door to us had a hung up a hammock... loved that.
  9. We were in L103 on the Regal and the balcony is HUGE! However, the rail is also metal (like the forward side balconies) but when standing the views are beautiful. If they had tall Director chairs for these, that would be lovely.
  10. The port times are listed on you Princess itinerary that you may have printed out.
  11. We did this itinerary just this last May. The only covid test was to embark. In !ay, we still had to test before flying home, but there were no tests required for any of the ports. NO TOUR guides wore masks, nor anyone in the ports.
  12. We took the Princess transfer from the port (Brooklyn) to EWR. It was not expensive and straight forward. The only downside was waiting at the terminal for more than a few hours for our flight home. We have done the New England/ Canada cruise twice and loved it!
  13. AND, you can get virgin pina coladas, hubby's favorite!
  14. We received an upgrade one time when we were checking in. It really was NOT an upgrade.
  15. This was 22 years ago. My first instinct is to say Haines, but I am not sure.
  16. Bring lots of layers and variety. We have experienced it all; even seeing the Northern Lights on August 28, 2000!
  17. I think upgrades are initiated by Princess to meet their goals of occupancy. Otherwise, you would call your TA or Princess to book the cabin you want. Remember... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be an "upgrade" you do not want.
  18. We had complimentary Wi-Fi and it worked fairly well on the Grand. We were allowed to use one device each at a time. We each have a Kindle.
  19. I love hearing that about the Grand! We will be on the Grand next month.
  20. We stayed in London (East side) in a lovely boutique hotel; The Rookery. It was actually pretty close to many sights we wanted to see (after taking the trains) a train station is super close. On the morning to embark, the hotel called a cab which drive is to the Victoria Coach Station. We had booked this transfer through Princess and it too 1.5 to 2 hours to Southampton- $59.00 per person.
  21. Something is wrong. I would keep bugging Princess and tell them the story. This does not make sense of any kind.
  22. We used NO Princess shore excursions and our tours were fabulous! Communications and tour guides were excellent. We booked privately and many others from our Roll Call were on our excursions.
  23. Your suite looks lovely. Corner aft is our favorite location, but we have not been in a suite yet; it is usually on an older ship that has corner aft premium balcony cabins. Just be aware, that there may be some cigarette smoke wafting up from crew smoking areas on the Promenade deck. Princess has been extremely insensitive regarding this issue that began due to covid. Alaska is beautiful and your balcony will provide supreme viewing!
  24. ** I believe you will be on the Regal Princess? We love that ship! ** If you are wanting to tour the Normandy Beaches; be sure to book ASAP with www.overlordtour.com ** It has been our experience that EZAir works fairly well and is typically a very good deal. Due to our current times, it can be challenging with flight changes and cancellations. ** There is no problem flying in early and/ or staying longer after the cruise when booking EZAir. We flew in 3 days early for our British Isles cruise this last May and stayed in London. We booked the Princess transfer to the ship which departed at the Victoria Coach Station for $59.00 per person. It took about 1.5 to 2 hours to Southampton. ** The laundry rooms are a wonderful convenience. It saves on the amount of clothing to pack. Just beware that it is VERY crowded on the first sea day, so plan accordingly. ** On the Regal, you will have Vines and Alfredo's!
