  1. Strange..... many people were able to get the same table and time each night when we cruised this last May on the Emerald. Strange..........
  2. One time, our muster station was outside on a deck by the life boats. Fortunately, it was decent weather.
  3. We usually picked up our water at the International Cafe.
  4. You will find a wealth of detailed information on the following forum. That is how we planned all of our shore excursions. You may also find people to book with on your Roll Call. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
  5. I realize that. My statement was only referring as to how authentic French Onion soup is made. I was vegan for many years.
  6. Agreed. Authentic French Onion Soup is made with beef broth and topped with Gruyere cheese.
  7. On two separate cruises out of New York, we have sailed from the two docks; once in 2003 and once in 2018.
  8. I wish you could get off of the ship and drive home. 😪 Get well soon!
  9. Yes, I remember the Park.Rangers for Glacier Bay. And we will be there soon!
  10. Thank you. It was lovely because they would comment as we made it through to a glacier or a fjord. Sometimes, they would speak in the Princess theater.
  11. We were on the Emerald this past May for a British Isles cruise (3 years in the making).: ** No Pillow Chocolates- We can live with that ** No Princess Bags- That is ok; We have several at home ** No Snacks at the Bar- We usually go to Vines anyway (which after day 4 began serving snacks again) ** The Medallion- We used it when we wanted to and no big deal ** WiFi- It always worked fine for us ** Lotions- Yuk! I always bring my own ** Food- Very good in the Dining Rooms and Crown Grill; the buffet was a let down ** No Pen or Pad of Paper at the Desk- A bit odd...Our Steward brought them upon request We are excited for our 12 Day Alaska cruise on the Grand in less than two weeks!
  12. DO NOT even go there!!! I bought them for a Holiday gift exchange and everyone fought over them. YUM!
  13. We stayed in London this past May and caught a cab from our hotel to the Victoria Coach Station and took the Princess transfer to the port which was $59.00 per person. Our cab was about 20 English Pounds and very prompt. We took Blackberry Cabs from LHR to our hotel. There is also a main topic under "Ports of Call", then "British Isles/ Western Europe". It is very detailed.
  14. Protocols were followed on the Emerald in May and they had covid onboard, as well as transporting people to hotels in London.
  15. In the past, Princess has had very good Nature "Hosts" and commentators. We will be doing the 12 day on the Grand in less than two weeks and are really looking forward to it.
  16. When we were on the Emerald last May (British Isles), EVERYONE from the airport to Princess, only wanted to see our hard copies! They specifically asked for those ( Covid test results, Passports, Vaccination records). Our vaccination card remains with our Passport at all times.
  17. I think the suggestion of going up to the lodge in Fairbanks is fabulous! I did not know it existed and appreciate the information. For us, the flight is not too bad, as we live on the Washington coast. Thanks!
  18. When we were on the Emerald in May, many wines on their lists were not available. There was not even any Port in the dining room one night when it was clearly listed on the menu. It was a bit frustrating due to trying to stay at or under the $12.00 mark, many wines I selected were out. The list was already fairly short anyway. And then, it would be a 3-4 ounce pour at best. Innovation; order more than one glass at a time (for DH, 😉)
  19. I am sure we are all looking forward to your experience! Thanks for keeping us updated.
