  1. Not knowing the amount of assistance you require. When you arrive at the Pier, and start the check in process they will assist you at that time. They have ships crew manning wheel chairs and will ensure that you can get onto the ship and if needed to your cabin. If you have rented a scooter, it will be inside of your cabin. We did this with a disabled friend just before covid. It was easy and mostly painless.
  2. San Juan - Old Town terminal - great to just walk off the ship and walk around. St. Thomas - Port schedule shows West Indian Co. Dock ( aka Havensight Pier),
  3. Interesting... mine absolutely refuses to re-fare when there is a price drop. Keeps quoting "new bookings only" or other mumbo jumbo. This will be the 3rd cruise that we have had to re-book anew. The really sad part is Princess lost out on more, as the not only gave me the cabin for $1800 less, they also now have to give me Princess Plus (new version), and I have decided to not book the expensive excurision (@$279 per person). My cabin went from an Aft corner starboard to port (same cabin style type).
  4. The app is not at all intuitive. They must have had monkeys as their QA testers...taking money works perfectly.... everything else.. well..... To Select a boarding group. Open the App.. Click on Personal Information and Documents On the Ocean Ready screen scroll down and find the suggested box Click on Arrivals Click Get started click your Ship name Then on that page, at the bottom, click on Arrival Group +Choose a group Then select an arrival time. (when you select, you have to scroll down to see the accept button, works poorly on some phones) That will enable your boarding group and the QR code. The app says that if you do not pick an arrival time, you will be provided on prior to departure
  5. We did this and we got the 50% back in cash to our credit card (automatically), and then went to the AON site, entered our booking #, names and that was basically it. AON paid the remaining 50% less the insurance cost (of course) in FCC. Don' lose out on what is owed you. go to www.aontravelclaim.com it is so very, very easy.
  6. It is available after final payment and about a month (ish) before the cruise. You have to complete all the steps on the medallion app (or on the website) and be in the Green Lane.
  7. If you are using one of Princess's Vacation planners, they will tell you that you cannot get a price difference/upgrade without cancelling and re-faring the cruise. This is a change from pre-covid where they would just refare the cruise. I do not if this is policy, and the PVP was just lazy and didn't want to do the work. I would do a mock air booking on EZair and see if the routing you have is still available (and at the price you want) I just did what you are trying to do and have had to re-book everything I had booked with my previous cruise, BUT.. I got a healthy discount off what I would be paying (over $1900). Alas, I had one excursion that almost doubled in price, plus lost a killer deal on Internet (was $108 for 4 devices and now $432 CAD). I can do without the extra internet, but hate missing that particular excursion.
  8. That is the strange part. I heard about the "sale" from a post on this board. Would have not noticed it without someone else posting about getting a discount.
  9. Pretty sure the 100kca was a keying error and should be $1,000 CAD. There is a CDN at par sale that is quite a deal for those north of border. We saved a lot and got the upgraded Princess + for our July Hawaii cruise. Had to cancel and rebook, but that was easy and we got an aft balcony that we were watching.
  10. See my post above this one. We saved quite a bit, and I am a happy camper. If you check the Princess website, from Canada, you will see the discounts automatically applied. I would screen shot that and ask your TA to do some leg work...
  11. Thanks to this post we were able to get our Hawaii cruise changed to the new price and we saved $922 a person on the base price ($1844), plus an overall less cost for insurance. The sad part is our CVP would not re-fare the cruise, but insisted that we cancel and create a new booking. Luckily there was a more preferable cabin (on the port side aft) that I had been eyeing for the last month and we went ahead. All in all we saved $1991 (fare and Insurance), have the corner aft we really wanted, have the new Princess + package (vs the old one), and all I had to do was rebook the excursions. Took me all of 30 minutes of my time and a total of 3 emails (one to request, and 2 to confirm the transaction). Sadly one of the excursions went up $50, but I am still way ahead in the end, and a happy camper.
  12. Being from Canada, we are forced to pick them up at the port... Last cruise, it added less than a minute onto our check-in time. 😁 Alas getting them at the port was, much preferred. We then had them in our hands for boarding and the staff helped us test them first to make sure they were working. I watched another couple scrambling in their carry on to find them for check-in... Husband asked "Wife, where did ya put them darn-it".
  13. I tried the same... Price is $1888 CAD , select a cabin Lido 700 range, and next page is Cruise fare of $2038.15 (plus the taxes of course)
  14. That is weird. We had the same type package in Oct and were able to book 2 specialty dining events way before the cruise and the credits were taken vs payment in advance. But the silly program is so, so very quirky, it recently cancelled and refund a dining reservation because I tried to book daily bookings (always book your daily reservations in the MDR, then try to book your Specialty Dining) On your booking can you open the Luggage Tag & Travel Summary link (use a web browser), and then find the "Print Travel summary" and then scroll way down on the page that opens up and see if the specialty dining credits are listed there. It should show "Specialty Dining 2 nights" qty 1 (there will be 1 line for the first 2 passengers on the booking. Some people swear to delete the app, re-install it and then wait a day or two then go back into the App and then try to do another booking. Steps to take... - Open Dine My Way - Select View or book individual daily reservations - Scroll right to the night you want to book and select that night - Select the green +Add Reservation - Select OK (if it shows up) then select Specialty Dining - Make sure the first 2 passengers booked are on my travel party, then continue - You should see here the available places to reserve and a price will be listed. - Pick an available time you want to dine - Click on select and you will be taken to a payment page. - HERE you will see payment options. From what I have been told, you need to scroll down a bit and the you should see a check box / select button for "use Dining credit", you select this vs using your credit card. If it works the app will cancel the original booking (and you get a refund in 2-3 business days) and re-book your dining. I hope that this helps..
  15. If you received an email stating that you had booked a cruise and you had money due... it is a SCAM. DO NOT click on ANY link on the email and delete it from your computer/devices. ALSO do not call the number listed on the email. They will try to SCAM you in to clicking links and as result downloading software to you computer OR they will ask you to fill out a claim form of some type/sort with a CC for validation.. and then poof your credit card is maxed out. This is a SCAM that is being passed around that mimic's a large vendor and looks very much like real email. No need to call Princess, they are aware and will tell you the same thing. PS I work for a bank that is one of the top targets of this type of scam... Google FRAPPO for details.
  16. It only scans once every 15 minutes or so... But nothing is stopping you from scanning again, and again, and again.. The only restriction is the Casino has to be open and operating.
  17. I do agree with this... Safety of the ship is most important here and not a passengers ability to view an email or post a photo. From the ships I have been on, overall service is not reliable enough to be able to conduct business (eg: work remotely), yes one can read an email, but to work that is a different story.
  18. From a Canadian standpoint. We have used a service called Switch Health for proctored tests (google Switch Health Areoplan for discounted test kits). It was accepted at all points for travel south, and then for travel back home. We got the appropriate tests ordered and delivered in less than a week, and carried the return tests with us, doing them on the ship (last morning of the cruise in port). All that was needed was a cellphone with video capability. We also have free tests from our pharmacy (not good for proctored tests) and we brought those along just to check to see if we were nervous.
  19. Called "Refer-a-Friend" Any past cruiser of Princess can refer a new cruiser through a link on the Website. When they book and sail both parties (you and them) will get a $25 referral bonus OBC. You can refer 2 persons per cabin / booking. I have referred about 15 people and 10 have sailed and I have gladly spent the extra OBC (or in reality the darling wife has spent) The only restriction is they have not yet booked a Princess Cruise AND have never sailed on Princess before (with no Captain's circle #). Cheers from Northern Alberta
  20. Our last cruise (on Enchanted's sister ship the Discovery) had horrible internet service. It was SLOW (less than 1 mbs service) and just trying to pull up an email was an exercise in waiting, and waiting and waiting. There will be some pockets of better service (when passengers are on shore), but typically slow service. You will NOT get fast service. At best it will limp along, it is good for the casual email, hit a forum or two but not much else. Bandwidth is reserved for ships communications and their tools and passengers get the remnants. I work remote, lots of telecalls, collaborating on documents, prepping presentations and small uploads of final documents. Had I tried to work on my past cruise, I would have failed.
  21. With Princess, get their insurance. it is good value overall with an 8% cost. We have used their, cancel for any reason, twice over the past year, and both times had zero trouble, and full refunds (cash and FCC) on both (less the insurance cost of course). Have yet to put it to the "fly me home" or emergency type use, and hope to never have to.
  22. It is a perk of having/paying for the top tier package, it is also available for paying $20 per day (all remaining days on your cruise). Kind of like paying extra for draw tickets for an end of cruise raffle. Each time you scan your medallion on your door, it randomly provides either an instant win, a virtual ticket to the end of cruise draw, or try again. I always saw "please try again", and the darling wife saw several end of draw entries. Your chances of winning something are somewhat good, as you are really only competing with the other passengers, that paid for it, on the ship. Prizes are $25, $50, OBC, $100 and then the grand prize per sailing of $5000. We had the Premium on our last cruise (had way to much FCC after covid) and we (darling wife) won the grand prize and those winnings are funding for a 16night Hawaii cruise. Would I pay Premium for any of my next cruises, absolutely not, just not enough benefit to pay the extra $$$ per day,
  23. If it is a new booking, then it might take a couple of days for it to get to the app. Check to see if it is listed on the Princess Website as booked cruise. If you have just a courtesy hold, it will not show up on the app, at a minimum the deposit payment has to have been made to secure the booking Some suggestions that I have seen..... On the App click on your picture (bottom right) and see if it is listed under the My Journeys section (on the left hand side), you should see the sailing date. If not hit the + sign and try to sign in there using the new booking reference #. MAKE SURE your full first name (eg: Robert vs Bob) and Last name are spelt correctly. Failing that click on sign-out and then sign in again use Thrak's suggestion of User Name and Password. Deleting the app and re-installing the app works sometimes, but that always takes time to refresh and pull up your bookings.
  24. Yes, it is attached to your cruise account. When the TA creates the cruise they add your Captain's Circle # and poof your FCC is available for the payment. TA do not care where the payment comes from as they don't get paid until after you have sailed. Check your profile to make sure it is there first.
  25. It seems to be inconsistent. I sent in a request (same email and attachments as others) on the 5th of January and still not applied. I do note that we are not sailing until July.
