  1. Nothing in bottles except on bottle of wine per adult can be in your carry on. Cans and cartons only for non-alcohol items.
  2. The deli is the place now and on the Radiance in April they were serving a branded Garden Burgers which impressed us. The veggie burger is served with potato chips which we like because there are few outlets on Carnival serving chips. Some fry fans get their veggie burger at the Deli then head over to Guy's for fries and or use the condiments bar available at Guy's. I hope you get a what you want and have a good cruise. 🙂
  3. That lobster looks like it has freezer burn! 😲
  4. It's weird how the buffets can be different between 2 Carnival ships. Carnival Panorama has Funfetti Cheesecake on the buffet on embark day as well as 2 kinds of fresh gelato. Radiance has neither of those. Panorama doesn't put out cottage cheese in the morning buffet next to the chilled fresh assorted fruit but the Radiance does. I understand the gelato being a feature of Vista Class ships but can't both ships have Funfetti cheesecake at lunch and cottage cheese at breakfast?
  5. We heard that Elaine Benes was impressed with her Big Salad on Carnival.
  6. This happens to us when we're 16 days out and want to check in. Now I look the day before to ensure the cruise is listed in the manager to prevent panic attacks.
  7. I'll put you down for a trans flat iron 🙂
  8. The menu at the link shows the beef strip loin on the every day menu. John Heald announced last month the VP of Food was removing the strip loin and returning the flat iron steak they used to serve 4 years ago. This would be an improvement. I wonder what's up.
  9. The foam toppers haven't been available in the last 7 years when we have asked. The steward will use a heavy duvet folded in half lengthwise to cover the bottom of the sofa.
  10. Not sure I understood, but if you're saying your 1030am non-stop flight is out and there's a direct flight ( which means one stop in transit no change of plane) @ 1155am then you should be able to make it via taxi, imo. If you both have a KTN with TSA that helps. If the Skycaps at LAX are curbside in the departures zone they can check you in for your flight and any baggage you want to check as well. Then it's on to security and your departure gate. Good luck
  11. The other part of this for some people is by focusing on the present the cruise seems longer. I know this is true of us, if we are thinking of the next day we're missing out on today.
  12. Yes, I've been reading the updates. The city would be smart to buy some land adjacent to the cruise terminal for a covered parking structure. The break ins off site in downtown lots has been unfortunate. I hope Norfolk will support Carnival ships for years to come.
  13. I grew up in Tiredwater (spelt correctly) on N.O.B. I wish they had had cruise ships from Norfolk when I was a kid. The closest to it from Norfolk was the Little Creek - Kiptopeke Beach Ferry from Little Creek just east of the Amphibious Base that sailed to the Del-Mar-Va Peninsula arriving in Cape Charles before the Bay Bridge Tunnel was built. I sailed the Magic from Cape Canaveral last November and it was a good 8 day cruise.
  14. Do you and others on this thread remember when CC allowed cruise groups to post on the main Carnival forum? There were so many groups with names like: " Cruising with the Crazies" etc. you had to weed them out before you could find the regular Carnival related threads. Often more than half of the first page were group threads. People in groups would chat with each other about nothing cruise related just to keep bumping their group page to keep it on the first page in the hope more people would join the group and book the same sailing with them. Typical bump comments from all the Cruise Crazies groups were: 1. Having spaghetti tonight 2. Seinfeld was good last night. 3. It's raining in Texas. 4. I may change the color of my kitchen. It was terrible, and yes the traffic is lighter here today but I still enjoy the live reviews and threads about all the new ships coming on line.
  15. This a true. Hot foods should be hot, hot, hot like the song and Shaq's does this well where the P&A fails. On the 4 ships I've sailed with a P&A buffet not one had hot food. Points for Shaq's.
  16. We liked most everything at Shaq's except the chicken tenders which had garlic powder in the coating. The Colonel has 11 herbs and spices and not one of them is garlic powder and with good reason. When we want Garlic Chicken we don't want it fried is all.
  17. Pools not located in the Serenity area are open to children whether they be forward, midship or aft with the exception of Havana.
  18. There's anchovy in the Caesar Dressing which appears on both menus so that's a push but the little anchovies deserve an honorable mention. We will miss the steamed mussels but there are new foods to explore and we will. You spent some time with this project and we thank you.
  19. Lizzie Borden was from Fall River. It can't be coincidence that the striploin steak that Emeril is taking off the menu needed an axe taken to it to find the one bite of decent beef in it. 🙂
  20. It was posted on July 18th, we're not supposed to mention that website here so I won't and won't paste it here or link. It's there if you want to dig.
  21. The Brand Ambassador said it last week, mentioned the Senior Food VP Richard had made the decision. I haven't seen an updated menu with the flat iron as yet but I do believe it's coming. I mentioned in several of my surveys to Carnival last year that the striploin was a nasty piece of beef with its sinew, gristle and fat rendering it inedible. I'd like to think I played my part for the change.
  22. I rather doubt the adjustment will be more hours visiting Colon but hope springs eternal 🙂 Sounds like a good itinerary.
  23. Last year the Carnival Radiance had a decent number of guests come in costume on Halloween. Costumes were worn in the dining room as well as the deck party. We sail her again this October 30th and hoping for more fun.
