  1. @billc23, or anyone else: Great point; thanks. Can someone please tell me how to remove the second image?
  2. @Georgia_Peaches, from what @calicakes and others have described, I am presuming a tri-malleolar fracture, which is what I had. This means a break off of the malleolus of the tibia, a fracture of the posterior tibia, and a break off of the malleolus of the fibula. Since those are, in fact, the bones that comprise the ankle joint, you MUST have surgery and you are non-weight bearing for AT LEAST 6 - 8 weeks. @calicakes is much younger than I am, and I don’t know how she sustained her injury. I am 62, and I stepped on a small pile of acorns while walking my dog downhill, and all of my weight landed on my right ankle. It broke in the three places described above, and was dislocated in two planes. S L O W process for recovery.
  3. @calicakes, I am sorry you are missing this trip! I broke the same bones in October just days before we were going to Barcelona for several days. The Barcelona trip was the precursor for a 14-night Transatlantic. I was so bummed we couldn’t go and was frustrated to have to rely on DH for Every. Little. Thing. So, I know how you feel and I am sending you hugs and well-wishes across the miles. I, too, feel fortunate and grateful for DH’s care, a Rock Star surgeon, great medical care, and medical (as well as trip) insurance. But it still sucked! I am now 5 months post-op and walk like nothing ever happened. No pain. No limitations. It didn’t take five months for that, but it was a process. One question about Allianz insurance, which is what we have: I know the limit for you was $5K, but wouldn’t that be $5K for you and $5K for DW?
  4. in January, the Evening Chic nights were #2 and #6. The lobster night was #6. I always check out the cruise menu before making specialty reservations. Enjoy!
  5. @Monthend, in Fine Cut Steakhouse, they have a Lobster dish which includes a lobster tail in some kind of a lemon sauce over a lobster ravioli. I didn’t care at all for the ravioli, and wasn’t too keen on the sauce over the lobster tail. That was on Ascent. When we went to Fine Cuts on the Beyond, and I explained to my server what I just related here, he said I could get 2 lobster tails with drawn butter instead! So: surf-n-turf is on the menu for you and your bf!
  6. The view from Tuscan Grille on an S-class ship is spectacular…especially if you can go early and snag a window seat. Most of our experiences have been outstanding. We have had a (very) few where the food was only ‘par’, but the service has always been excellent. For us, the food ranges from very good to exceptional. Go for it!! 😁
  7. @gold1953 and @crazyank, both of you make excellent points indeed! Thank you!
  8. We were in a typical Concierge cabin on the Ascent in December. I got a scooter from Special Needs that was in our room on embarkation, and we left it there on disembarkation. I had recently been immobile due to ankle surgery, and wasn’t sure I could handle walking all day, or especially, stairs. I did request wheelchair assistance from Celebrity on embarkation and disembarkation. (I used it on embarkation…LONG ramps, and probably 6 of them, and am grateful that I could. I didn’t need nor use it on disembarkation.) It fit in our (non-accessible cabin) just fine, although I needed some assistance with the door to get in and out of the room. Thankfully, after day 2 I could manage on my own and didn’t need the scooter. To look at me, you couldn’t see WHY I needed a scooter, and folks on the full elevators going from deck six down to 5 or 4 consistently stayed in the (full) elevator rather than getting out to make room. As an aside, if I am on an elevator going DOWN, and the doors open to a mobility-impaired person, I ALWAYS get off (sometimes with a snarky comment to my fellow able-bodied-elevator-brethren) so the person who CANNOT use the stairs is able to use the elevator. Actually, I do that on elevators going UP (without the snarky comment) but I don’t hold my able-bodied-elevator-jamming-brethren to the same standard…maybe they can’t do 9 flights up to the Ocean View Cafe.
  9. Wow. What a start!! I’ll be following along. How much money was that taxi ride?? 😳
  10. @39august, the Craft Social bar has drinks, as does the Martini Bar (one deck down) and the World Class Bar (one deck up). Also, on Beyond, I believe Al Bacio has the drinks on the Captains Club Elite Happy Hour menu.
  11. If anyone mentions the Pythagorean theory, I may push you overboard! 🤣
  12. @miched, LOL! Do you have any idea how long ago I took Geometry? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Let’s just say it was at least 40+ years ago. BUT, I found myself constructing a hypotenuse in my mind and dividing it into 2 isosceles triangles. WOW. Haven’t used those words in 40+ years! Thank you for jogging my memory…maybe I’m not that old after all!
  13. We used Spain Day Tours for a Barcelona City Tour. With them, you can also purchase tickets for inside Sagrada Familia and Park Guell for the afternoon after your City tour. We think they are great!
  14. @mac_tlc, if you don’t mind, what is the status of butlers on the Beyond for Sky Suites on your cruise?
  15. @Cruisegirl6, I know you are going on Beyond, so I need to correct my previous answer. We were on the Beyond in January. (Ascent was Dec and Feb.) Everything else in my post is what I meant to say!
  16. Although there should be plenty at Oceanview to fill your ‘hungry’, remember there is always Room Sevice, albeit for a charge. At night in OV, I have always gotten sandwiches, cheese, salad, or pizza or pasta. Never once left hungry!
  17. @NanPop135, do you have new, specific information on this? Like others have said, they have been doing this for awhile. Has something changed?
  18. We love Both the Ascent and the Beyond!
  19. We have had some elegant nights on Port days, but having very recently sailed your exact itinerary on Beyond, I would bet money that the Chic nights are nights 2 and 7, with the latter night (2nd chic night; betting day 7) having the ‘best’ menu.
  20. In my experience, all 4 have plenty. Enjoy your cruise!
  21. We had terrific experiences at Rooftop on Ascent in Dec and Feb and also on the Ascent in Jan. We don’t go there when the ship is sailing (unless we are just then leaving port) because it can get very windy. My App says it closes at 9:00 p.m. Their wings are a great starter. My DH loves the filet mignon and I have loved both the brisket and the ribs. And save room for the wonderful fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie ala mode for dessert!!
  22. Each of the MDRs has its own charms. I am sure we all may have different favorites! Why not give each of them a chance? Can someone recently on Beyond confirm show times? On the Ascent earlier this month, they were 7:30 and 9:30. Can’t remember about Beyond. But yes, scheduling dinner about 2 hours before the show sounds fine to me.
  23. @sixpackeddie, Congratulations on your successful move up bid, and have a wonderful cruise!
