  1. I also like the staircase entrance of the Retreat pool on the Regal.
  2. Looking forward to your “Live” review, my mom keeps talking about doing this cruise.
  3. Chrysalis, you rent them in the Sanctuary for either a half day or a full day.
  4. We really enjoyed renting the cabanas next to the retreat pool on the Regal. We got all the pampering of the Sanctuary with easy access to the adult pool.
  5. Did Princess update the Discovery with The Catch by Rui yet? Hoping they do before our cruise next year.
  6. On my last Alaskan cruise I stayed at the Pan Pacific Vancouver located at Canada Place. The hotel collects your luggage from the room and brings it to the ship. Also you go through US Customs before you enter the ship. So, if you have a GOES card the line is faster.
  7. We were on the Royal last month and my husband said they had a different Gluten Free pizza dough than the one we had on the Regal last year. He was so disappointed he didn‘t even finish the pizza. If anyone has recently had the Gluten Free pizza on Discovery can comment about the crust at Gigi’s we’d appreciate your review of that crust.
  8. Our extra’s include magnet’s, highlighters, towel clips, eyeglass repair kit, and an old blue princess tote bag. We don’t like the brightness of the closet light but want some light at night. So we use magnets to secure the blue bag over the closet light leaving a bit uncovered. This way we can see the lip of the bathroom entrance but it’s not bright enough to wake each other up.
  9. We often get two bottles of water and a drink at the bars. We do this before going back to our cabin at night.
  10. I hit Elite on a cruise last year that was booked as one cruise but could have been booked as a B2B. At the end of the first segment I got a letter from princess indicating my Elite status but I never asked for the bar items. But I did receive the discount for excursions and the free laundry. The free laundry was great on a 22 night port intensive cruise.
  11. We use magnets to cover 90% of the light with a t-shirt at night. For us it is just enough light to see the bathroom door.
  12. The cabana with 2 loungers next to the retreat pool was $80 a day. We had all the perks of the Sanctuary but were poolside by the Retreat pool on the Regal.
  13. There are numerous tasting rooms in Santa Barbara, just walk up state street.
  14. I booked all of my groups dinner reservations using the Medallian app, first I added my family as travel companions, secondly I changed my reservations and selected all my travel companions. Then I completed the reservation for the night. For the speciality dinner reservations I used my “free” credits” but had to pay for one extra person using my credit card. Since I am Elite I can book my reservations before final payment and my travel mates are not able to do this yet.
  15. Yes, They were $80 a day back in October.
  16. On the Royal Class ships their are Cabana’s by the Adult pool that are serviced by the Sanctuary. On the Regal last year we enjoyed on poolside on sea days. They have two loungers and can be rented whole day or half day. It was a wonderful way to hang out poolside.
  17. We eat in the MDR daily and I ask the waiter not to put the bread basket on the table. I limit my pasta or ask for an appetizer portion for my main course. If we ate a big lunch I may order an appetizer for my main.
  18. The new menu looks delicious.
  19. Looking forward to hearing about your trip, if you drink wine can you let us know if the price per glass has increased? We have the Plus package but I’m wondering if I need to upgrade the package to cover increases to the wine prices.
  20. This summer on the Regal we booked the Sanctuary on sea days and they brought us tea service to our loungers. The staff also made sure they brought my spouse Gluten free pastries. A giant thank you to Chris and the other staff.
  21. MY DH had the Panna Cotta for dessert at Sabatini’s and he also had the GF Calamari. We brought onboard a couple loaves of bread we bought in Spain for our Mediterranean cruise. DH liked having other bread options at breakfast.
  22. The Enclave had just the one price, no restrictions on how often you can use the facility. Also no extra gratuity when you visit the Enclave.
  23. Enjoy your precruise time in Barcelona, it is one of our favorite cities. This trip we rented an apartment and we’re enjoying the kitchen and extra space.
