Semi-live Regal Mediterranean cruise & precruise
ghgeckos replied to ghgeckos's topic in Princess Cruises
Iโll let you know how this cruiseโs reservations go, since my spouse is Gluten Free I made all my reservations months ago. This year on the Ruby and the Majestic I didnโt have any issues with my reservations. The most I had to wait was a few minutes. -
We headed to Barcelona for a week long precruise vacation. My spouse is Gluten-free and Iโll highlight all our GF dining experiences along our journey. We flew British Airlines from the US to London then continued on to Barcelona. The airline did an excellent job of providing Gluten-free meals except the bread option was a rice cake. Be sure to bring your patience when going through customs at Heathrow airport. The line we were waiting in was shut down due to a bag getting stuck in the X-ray machine. ๐ We didnโt get to our hotel until midnight so our first day was spent sleeping and exploring La Rambla. A friend let us know about several GF restaurants. We went to โMy Fโing Restaurantโ for the tasting menu. Everything on the menu is GF.

Discovery Princess Sanctuary Cabana TV details
ghgeckos replied to bbunch04's topic in Princess Cruises
The in my experience the internet in the room isnโt strong enough to watch streaming movies. In January on the Majestic they showed the football games on MUTTS, The crowd was great and it made football fun to watch even for a non football watching person. -
Dear Princess Management, I Hope You Read This

As a family with food allergies we too prefer the ability to sit in the same area of the dinning room. This allows servers to get used to our families needs without having to repeat ourselves every night. So far we have been able to get our dining reservations nightly in the same dining room. On previous cruises this year I have been able to request a general section of the dining room after speaking to the Maitre d. -
We prefer the De Vinci due to itโs location midship. We enjoy a pre dinner class of wine and then bring our fresh glass of wine ๐ท into the dining room with us, this saves the wait staff a trip.

Does Medallion know which drinks package we have?
ghgeckos replied to Smokeyham's topic in Princess Cruises
Be sure to check your bill every few days because this year on my cruise I found minor errors that where quickly resolved with a positive attitude at the service desk. -
We booked ez Air on British Airways in Business class and was able to go on British Airways website and select our seats within a few days of booking our ez air with Princess.

Voyage of the Glaciers - Looking for insights
ghgeckos replied to Ken the cruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
I did the Voyage of the Glaciers round trip from Vancouver in July this year. Stoping at some ports twice was fine as the views of the glaciers from the Majestic were amazing. The Captain would give full view to the port side then turn the ship around so the port side could also enjoy the view. The Majestic captain studied the routes and sails close to the land in Glacier bay. He even reversed the ship at one point so everyone could see the brown bear. This was a wonderful experience. -
Thatโs great news, as the ships get larger it is nice to see more options available for sea days.
-
Princess, if your listening the Salty dog would make a great lunch spot on Sea days.

Your cruise might be available as two 7 night cruises. The Enclave pass can be booked for each 7 night segment. On my previous cruise I enjoyed this area daily. It was a great way to relax before a good nightโs sleep.

Any tips to getting a reservation for the Chefs Table Lumiere?
ghgeckos replied to NthernLgts's topic in Princess Cruises
On the Majestic in July I attended the Chef;s dinner and it was $115 with wine. -
The Enclave area is first come first served. No appointments or scheduling. I enjoy the heated loungers after some time in the Thalassotherapy pool. Only a few times did I need to wait for a lounger to become available while on the Majestic.

discovery princess obstructed balcony cabin advice needed please!
ghgeckos replied to dimiegirl's topic in Princess Cruises
Great map link, I grabbed one of those extended balcony obstructive view cabins for the solar eclipse cruise in โ24. -
Oh no, not the Malbec! Youโll have to drink some of the fabulous Pinot. ๐

The mini suite is fine for two adults and 2 kids, but I would get separate cabins if it was 4 adults.

Prebooking Balcony Breakfasts and Balcony Dinners is back!
ghgeckos replied to canadarocks's topic in Princess Cruises
Has anyone had experience ordering a Gluten Free Balcony Dinner or Breakfast? -
On my last cruise I used the duvet as extra padding on the bed and used one of the sheets as my blanket.
-
Our youngest son did the cake excursion too. He loved it too (24 now). We still talk about that cake. They served it to us for dessert.
-
Call the dine line as soon as you board and get on the list. I did this on my recent Majestic cruise to Alaska and it was the best meal I have ever eaten. Also lots of fun.
-
The majestic Princess has a European plug behind bed in the mini suites.
-
No good, then we had a lot of fog on the Majestic sailing back to Vancouver and that made things worse.
-
8:00 am to 10:00 pm except for the last night of the cruise they close at 8pm to drain and clean the enclave spa and they donโt open until noon on embarkation day.

Balcony or Mini Suite on Majestic to Alaska?
ghgeckos replied to Kitty Ellas Mom's topic in Princess Cruises
I have experienced both as a solo traveler and really enjoyed the mini suite but for my Alaska trip I booked an obstructed view balcony cabin. The only obstruction was the lifeboat below my line of sight. Alaska is an expensive itinerary so I saved my money on the cabin to indulge in extra experiences on board and in port.
