  1. I do think the poster meant an obstructed view cabin.
  2. That is terrible. Have you tried the online chat to ask if they can see if your email was received by Corporate? Or, send a second request- marked urgent, after you feel you have waited their time frame for responding. You have more patience than I do, for sure.
  3. We had a set time, table and servers, every day. It did take us asking about why when we had “reservations” we were still waiting in a very long single line, with not one staff member asking to see anybody’s medallion to confirm anything. We also had waited 40 minutes before finally suggesting this lack of a system was not working. We saw several people just go to the same entry just right beside the open door where the staff are, a staff would just let them in show them into the dining room and no medallions were used.i have no idea why that happened, it was unfair and it made no sense. People in line were upset. The people who got into that other very short line line, were questioned by people waiting in line. They politely said they had reservations, just like the rest of us. They were not using the club class entry, on the other side, just right where we were all patiently waiting. After that nights discussion with the staff, they did something on the computer and just like magic, no more problems, we just walked up, they tapped our medallion and our 6:00 pm same table was waiting for us, along with our very good servers.
  4. Oh, I just booked for the fall on the Discovery, so that’s good to know about the kiosk. How long have you been waiting for a response to your email about the refundable credit, that appears to be discounted for some crazy reason? Maybe there’s an admin fee, which would be ridiculous.
  5. Make sure you do give them all your input. It took me a long time to give them my thoughts on the survey. Our travelling friends said they spent 2 hours on it. I’m hoping they do read them.
  6. Yes, we were too. We didn’t use Uber or Lyft as we are from Canada and don’t have a phone plan for the US. There was also a large minivan type vehicle in the parking lot saying he would take people to the port for 25.00 per person. So, when I saw a cab waiting, we walked over to see what the charge was, since it was per taxi…we took it. We also paid 22.00 , from the airport. That also seemed high, the meter read, 17.25.- when I asked about it, he told me there is an extra charge to go between the hotels and the airport….and the airport and the port. I wasn’t about to argue after a long travel day. But..he got the same 22.00 he would have, had the fare been accurate. off topic… we wouldn’t stay at the Hilton again. We arrived around 8:45 pm, so nowhere open to eat onsite after we quickly dropped off our bags. It had been a very long day, coming from BC, Canada. The only option for a sit down breakfast was a buffet…which we were trying to stay away from, and the cost was 26.00 p.p. I’m sure it was tasty…but since we were heading for the ship, we just didn’t need it. So..that’s why we walked to the delicious place for a lighter bite to eat.
  7. I just rechecked… my statement came at 11:10 pm on the Saturday night after we left. From noreply@princesscruises.com i just noticed this part. You are currently registered for express checkout. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey home and hope to see you on another Princess vessel in the near future. Check your spam folder. I have also read other posts that said they contacted Princess and were able to get a copy emailed again.
  8. You can walk to the port from there. It’s still a bit of a walk with a bumpy sidewalk and pretty warm, even by 9:00 am. We walked up past the Embassy in the morning, to a nice little place that had delicious bagels, right near the Starbucks, which was closed. We recently stayed at the Hilton Marina, and still took a cab to the port. Be aware… cab fares have increased. We were charged 20.00.
  9. I just checked my emails. Both came to my email address, with the statement coming from … no reply@princess.com - on the same day we disembarked. My statement was correct to what I had viewed the night before our cruise ended. I also try not to leave any OBC or a credit balance, when I leave the ship.
  10. Yes, I think it is these days. Most people don’t actually leave cash tips on the table any more, so it is easier to track. Cash for anything is almost not heard of anywhere. I’m lucky if I have 10 dollars in my own wallet. That’s a pretty good wage, my niece says she makes about 38.00 per hour. I think I was in the wrong business.
  11. That is so disgusting. My husband worked for company that picked up the linens from restaurants…he said it was terrible. The restaurants were to sort the linens before sending them out for cleaning. They went into large bags and were just dumped into the cleaning machines at the facility. I’m hesitant to use cloth napkins in restaurants, as I used to frequent a cute little place, but learned the staff took the napkins home to wash and earned a couple of bucks per load. However, your home machine is not good enough. I starting asking for paper napkins after that.😏
  12. I don’t think there are many restaurants that the servers aren’t sharing the tips with the hostess/host, kitchen and cleaning staff. It’s called a tip pool. My daughter worked as a server and some restaurants actually only direct deposit to bank accounts, the tips every two weeks, along with the paycheque with some vague accounting on the paystub. There are also some restaurants that you must pay a percentage of the customers bill into the pool, even if a table left nothing.
  13. It’s good question. I wonder if you called in and referenced your email, if you might get a quicker solution. Or…try the online chat. I believe they have access to your account. They have been able to read any notes I have on my account. Come back and let us know if this works, or when you get an email back. Don’t forget to keep a close eye on your junk mail file.
  14. I think they might refer everyone back to this…it is fairly clear that Canada is “noted”, I have no idea why though, it doesn’t seem fair. Unless otherwise noted, if a negative COVID-19 test is required for re-entry into your home country, Princess will cover the costs of tests, provided guests can show proof that their flight arrangements are the same day as they disembark the ship. Guests will need to make their own test arrangements if onward travel is not the day they disembark. Voyages ending in Canada: Guests are responsible to arrange their COVID-19 tests and pay directly to the testing facility. If departing Canada by air, guests are highly encouraged to pre-reserve COVID-19 testing appointments at the Vancouver or Quebec airport in advance. Please note, tests are not required for guests disembarking in Vancouver and returning to the US via motorcoach.* We encourage guests to review their home country’s health authority and travel websites for the latest guidance on required testing and timing for return travel. If guests would prefer to have the required test completed while still on board, Princess has partnered with Optum so that before traveling to the ship U.S.-based vaccinated guests can order an FDA-authorized at-home antigen test kit, shipped to their homes in three business days or less. Guests can take these tests on the ship, using MedallionNet to complete the required, video-supervised visit with an eMed Certified Guide through telehealth services. These guides help administer the test and verify the results, usually within 15 minutes. The lab result report is delivered by email and can be printed or displayed on your mobile device during check-in. Please place your order with enough time to receive the test at home before going to the ship. Order your test kit online^.
  15. I would think after they see from what port that you are requesting the reimbursement from, they might decline you. Fingers crossed for you that they do receive it.
  16. I wonder if they will only refund people flying out on the same day? Please let us know how it works out for you.
  17. 60.00 would have been very close to amount he would have spent, if he had left the crew appreciation on, depending on his cabin level choice. Of course, the difference is that it isn’t shared with the other crew.
  18. We have docked there many times, so I thought it was important that the original poster could find the information they needed, and know that there are two docks there. We love Crown Bay, it’s so much easier to get to Water Island and enjoy Honeymoon beach.
  19. Why don’t you check the port schedule for the day you are there. We have been docked at both docks in the past.
  20. You are correct. Dominica opened in early April. So...the website should be updated. We got off on April 16th. It was pretty frustrating to get off the ship at a port, go through the area inside the ports and see the locals were selling tours and offering taxis, etc. All Govt. Authorized. Not only that, those excursions were also about half price. I do realize some people are only comfortable with cruise line tours, but those of us who have been to the Islands many times are some, times willing to go out on our own.
  21. There are staff shortages in every area. Recreation, tourism and transportation have been hit the hardest. It is hard to find people interested in working the open hours of those businesses. I know I’m all about only working a daytime job and no evenings or weekends. I guess I’ve earned it, as I’ve been working for more than 40 years. 😏 The information below is what I just copied for flights leaving the USA. It doesn’t seem any different than the guidelines CANADA has. The TSA advises arriving at the airport two hours before your flight for domestic travel and three hours before for international travel. If you're traveling during peak times like early morning or evening, or during holidays and other events, please plan accordingly and allow for extra time.
  22. We are off the ship now. Yes, we only went to late shows and I spent quite a bit of time taking different routes - like the forward elevators in off times as they were usually empty. We used the forward pool for swimming as it was usually quite empty. We also tried to eat daytime meals at off times and outdoors. We did private excursions for the most part, like a golf cart and a motorcycle tour, so we didn’t share transportation. That’s what was frustrating with Princess…all my hard work went out the door, when we were forced to sit near people to go on one of their excursions. The only reason we took their excursions was because it is listed on their site that you had to in Dominica, St. Lucia and Barbados. I was not true, at all. I also spoke directly to the excursion desk and guest services onboard after we got back as we really felt let down and flat out lied to. They all politely nodded their head in agreement. I believe they knew it was not true, but couldn’t do anything about getting the website changed. It is still listed under the Can I go ashore? In the FAQ section.I was also sure to give them my feedback on the survey. The other couple we were with said it took her 2 hours to complete the survey…she wanted to be thorough.
