  1. I've been a Celebrity cruiser for some years and created a Royal Caribbean account just in case I ever wanted to take a Royal cruise. A few months back I tried to log into it and had to change my password when it said I had the wrong password. After changing it, I then could not log into my Celebrity account because it was saying I was using the wrong password there. After going back and forth with this a few times, I did some googling and found that RCCL had gone to a single login system a couple of years ago for both Royal and Celebrity and so every time I was changing it for one I was changing it for the other. I guess I missed that notification about the single sign-in somehow, and it's not evident in my Celebrity account that I can get to any Royal stuff. The only crossover item I see is when I go to Settings > My Loyalty, where I can then view both my Captain's Club number and my Crown & Anchor Society number. Perhaps I put that number in there some years ago... I don't really recall. So anyhow, a friend will be joining me for an upcoming cruise and she has been a Royal cruiser and has never been on a Celebrity cruise. I made the reservation through my Celebrity account. Will she be able to log into her Royal account and somehow link/access the Celebrity cruise through her Royal account?
  2. I had been patiently waiting for my points to come back for several days. Finally called today and, after about an hour and 20 minutes on hold, I got someone when I heavy accent that I could barely understand. After I asked her several times to repeat herself, I realized she was telling me to log out and back in again, which I told her I'd tried numerous times over the past few days (this wasn't my first day on a computer). Then she told me to delete my account. Huh? She kept saying go to Profile in the app and delete my account. I told her I wasn't using an app. She repeated that I should go to Profile in the app and delete my account. I finally figured out that she meant the Celebrity app on my phone, and I told her I don't have the Celebrity app on my phone and that I'm logged in via the website. Then she said to delete my account on the website. This made no sense to me, and at that point I lost my patience and hung up. Did a search on here and found this thread. AHA!!! Delete the Captains Club number!!! Finally, something that at least makes sense! Tried it and, although I had my doubts because it kept asking if I wanted to save my changes even though I'd already done so, IT WORKED! Thank you VERY much @jelayne!!! ❤️
  3. Watched the video and now I admit that I'm a little bummed about our upcoming cruise. I won't let it ruin the cruise for me, but I was really looking forward to trying the themed dinner nights in the OV, as I'd heard they were pretty nice. My husband and I cruised in Aqua for the last few years and so I always felt like I needed to go to Blu for dinner since we'd already paid for a dining upgrade (especially since we don't use the spa stuff associated with Aqua). I'm cruising with a friend this next time, and we didn't choose to go Aqua, so I figured it was a great opportunity to finally try the OV for dinner as I've been pretty pleased with their breakfast and lunch offerings in the past. However, the meager selections made it look like the passengers had decided to head to a buffet five minutes before it closed for the night. Does anyone know if Royal Caribbean has also significantly downgraded their buffet? My friend is a Royal cruiser and this cruise was going to be her intro to "upgrading" to Celebrity.
  4. What are considered "premium coffees?" Would it include all of the coffees in Cafe al Bacio that don't contain alcohol, such as typical lattes and cappuccinos?
  5. Mmmm.... dirt fish! 😉 Please tell me they're still offering escargot each night as an appetizer. That's a favorite treat of mine on Celebrity cruises.
  6. Whoa, didn't realize Royal Caribbean allowed smoking in casinos! We were thinking of trying Royal since they cruise out of Port Canaveral, but we may change our minds on that now.
  7. We wish it had actually been a cookbook... the heavy book we received in April 2022 is more a book of essays than a cookbook. We didn't realize that until we brought it home or we wouldn't have taken it.
  8. We did the Chef's Table on our March/April cruise on the Equinox and would absolutely NOT recommend it. The galley tour that was mentioned in the description simply didn't happen. Don't know if it was yet another "Covid thing" or if it was skipped for other reasons. We started in the "Craft Beer Bar" and had a couple of tiny OK-but-not-great appetizers and a glass of bubbly, and then we moved to Murano, where they squished 10 of us into a side room that's sized for a party of eight. The chef popped in during the appetizer and for a few moments a couple of times, but was not there the entire time to introduce and describe the courses as has been our experience at Chef's Tables elsewhere. It also seemed that we were possibly sharing staff from the regular Murano seatings as we'd sometimes have pauses after courses where it seemed that they were waiting for staff to assemble. It's an additional $79 charge to the already expensive $139 dinner charge if you want to add a wine pairing (remember... you've already paid Celebrity for dinner by booking the cruise and have already paid an invisible upcharge if you're normally in Blu or Luminae, so this is $139 per person in addition to that!). We did not add the wine pairing since we already had the premium drink package and figured we'd still be able to get some good wines. However, it felt that those of us who didn't add the pairing were sort of treated like a second class citizens (after explaining the pairing wine at each course, the wine "...for the rest of you" was simply poured for those who were on drink packages or wanted to purchase a glass). The soup was good, but nothing that special... butternut squash, I think. The other food items ranged from uninspired to unappealing to simply not good. We had something (I forget what... maybe a piece of fish?) that had a green pea foam on it. We had a tiny beef fillet that had gristle running through it (don't know about anyone else's, but that was the case for both my husband's and mine), a small stacked vegetable square that interleaved sweet potato and celery puree (we both normally like sweet potato, so it must have been the celery puree that made it taste so unappealing), and a small short rib that was room temperature on the outside and actually cold on the inside. We each tried a bite of each of these and didn't feel enticed to move beyond that. Dessert was apparently neither terrible nor wonderful because honestly, neither of us can remember what it was. We had an absolutely marvelous dinner in Murano two days prior to this and an absolutely marvelous dinner in Tuscan two days after, but felt that the Chef's Table was an extremely disappointing and waaaay overpriced experience. We had done Chef's Table twice on another cruise line and absolutely loved it. It started with a galley tour and the chef showing us how one of their signature desserts was made (we even got the recipe afterwards). The dinner was held in a large dedicated area (basically, set up in the center of a dance club, with small spotlights showcasing the table) with a completely dedicated staff, the chef introducing/describing each course, and with a wine pairing for every course included. The food was creative, beautifully presented and delicious (and, it cost less than Celebrity's Chef's Table). I've also done Chef's Table in a high end restaurant in New Orleans and loved it. Based upon our previous Chef's Table experiences, our dinners in Blu, and the excellent dining we've enjoyed in the onboard specialty restaurants, we were so excited to try it on Celebrity... but unfortunately it didn't even come close to living up to our expectations.
  9. Most likely, no. For us, it's about both value and even more so, convenience. We don't really need the Wi-Fi, but we pre-pay gratuities (as well as tipping beyond that in cash) and we always purchase the premium drink package. So far, the All-Included with the Elevate package has cost us less than what we'd have paid by piecing out the gratuities and drinks. And although I don't drink a lot anymore, even when we hit Elite I'm not going to wait around for a free happy hour to go enjoy a drink. We want the freedom to drink what we want and when we want it. And the specialty coffees, smoothies, etc... yum!
  10. We did some playing last time we cruised Alaska on Carnival six years ago. My husband played the craps table and I (who doesn't know craps from a hole in the ground) played the slots. He won a nice amount and I, of course, eventually lost all the money I'd allocated to lose (though the slots were generous enough that I had a great time playing for quite a while). Ever since Covid slowed down and they started sailing again I've been getting offers emailed to me almost daily for free Carnival cruises and my husband wondered aloud why he wasn't. "I gambled more than you did!" he complained. "Yes dear, but you won. Who do you think they're going to want back in the casino?" 😁 We pretty much don't gamble on our Celebrity cruises, however. Tried a couple of times and it seemed to be the equivalent of throwing the money overboard to the fishes.
  11. I don't get too excited about reduced deposit "sales" since it just means I'll have to pay more later. 😉 I'm all about "real" sales though, but I've noticed that those are much harder to come by lately. I'll see something like "Limited Time Offer - $600 Off All Cruises!" and get excited, only to run a dummy booking and find out that the price has gone up so much on the cruise that it's now more than when I looked at it a few weeks ago prior to the sale. With inflation going crazy and fuel, food and other supply costs shooting up so much, I guess it's to be expected.
  12. Depends upon how you do it. We bring a couple of nice wide plastic smoothie straws along on a cruise (great for daiquiris, frozen mudslides, etc.), along with a couple of cleaning brushes made for straws and use the straws over and over, similar to the way people use steel straws (I don't like the idea of steel straws since I tend to walk around with my drinks and feel safer having plastic). We use them at home for smoothies and frozen drinks as well. The set at our last house was used for probably a year or more. We splurged and broke out a new set when we moved last year, throwing the old ones in the recycle bin.
  13. My husband and I have been watching some of the more recent Celebrity videos on YouTube lately and noticed that just about all the "guests" shown are younger individuals with the exception of some slightly older "distinguished looking" gentlemen with younger wives/girlfriends (and, of course, everyone is trim and fit). We started laughing when we thought about how misleading this was and wondered if any young folks board the ship and are shocked by the true demographics once they look around and realize they're primarily sailing with Mom/Dad/Grandmom/Grandpop.
  14. Well, I guess whatever you are doing wrong I did as well, because I thought the same thing. A couple of cruises ago I figured that I'd give 'em a try so I could get more bang for my buck for Aqua class, but apparently lying on a warm rock is not my thing.
  15. We kept refreshing, just in case, and it never went past the initial slide. Finally exited and went back in and it's underway. Shouldn't have to do that. Guess it's not as user friendly as Zoom or Skype for Business.
  16. Still waiting for the webinar to start. Have been on since a few minutes before 6PM ET. Did it start for anyone else?
