  1. That sounds like a pretty awful place for smokers. It is really windy up there.
  2. Heat Wave! We're getting a heat wave, supposedly. It is supposed to start on Friday and last over the weekend. Thank goodness, because it is still freezing at our house. Maybe I can finally switch to shorts instead of sweats for a few days.☺️
  3. The condition is fine. I love the location. It is close to the pier and the free trolley stop is right in front of the hotel. You can take it into Ybor City. Publix is a short walk away. It was our first and last cruise in March during Spring Break. The ES was $300+/ night at that time. The airfare was also ridiculous. But we wanted to sail with our friends. ☺️
  4. Thank you! That's really interesting. We definitely have to plan a cruise to that part of the world. ☺️
  5. How cute! Are those just regular old feral sheep? They don't seem to be pastured or anything. I love all your beautiful photos. ☺️
  6. I keep forgetting to tell you Sue. Tampa Hotels: We stayed at Embassy Suites in March. It was very expensive. You mentioned Home2Suites in your post. We were booked there on one of our cancelled cruises. But also check the Hampton Inn pricing. Home2Suites and Hampton are in the same building/complex and have the same amenities, free breakfast, etc. It is kind of weird, they are in the same building.
  7. That's disappointing Greg. But better to know, than not know. And it is wonderful to have a diagnosis and opinion from someone you trust implicitly. I love my orthopedic surgeon. I wanted to have hip resurfacing instead of a full hip replacement. He is young, and very engaged. He pursed his lips and shook his head, and said, "No can do. Not a candidate. You need a full replacement." ☺️ We don't always get what we want. And maybe this one will go better. Ask @NHProud who her husband's surgeon was?
  8. Sorry. I am still thinking about cold, and sheets. All the folks in sweltering climates are probably not thinking about them. We started off with flannel sheets during the winter, because they were a lot warmer than our usual Percale. And then we discovered CuddlDuds sheets! Which are light-weight fleece sheets. Oh My Gosh! They are so warm and cozy and comfy! Our utility bills are insane here during the winter. We have usually switched out by now. But we still have the CuddlDuds on. I don't usually recommend products, but we were amazed by how cozy these are. Kohls carries them and I bought another set on clearance when our Kmarts closed. I think if anyone in cold weather climates tries them, they might be pleasantly surprised.
  9. I would drop it if we could quit booking cruises. Next time we book, I think I will try to use up most of the points and switch to the BofA general travel card.
  10. We think that is not hot Graham. Just pleasant, and we can have the sliding doors and windows open (with screens) for cooling. Fortunately, we don't have humid. We don't have AC either.☺️ At the present time, we still have our winter sheets on the bed, because it has been very windy and cold and overcast. The furnace is still running in the morning.
  11. I've seen them run. First day onboard. Mom, dad and toddler were up checking out the pool deck. And the toddler just started jetting towards the pool. I made a sharp left to intercept him, but his mom noticed very quickly and ran and grabbed him. They are fast. (I don't think I would want to be that responsible for one) If you're not runners, maybe send the 6-year old after him. ☺️
  12. Another Gemini! ☺️ Congratulations and Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a nice one. ☺️Edit: I guess we've moved on to the next astrological sign of Cancer. Happy Birthday!
  13. They put a cone on Bobby once for a skin rash. He had it off before I had even finished paying the bill at the front desk. 🀣 I hope Minnie is back to her usual sweet self by tomorrow. My MRI experience. I'm a wimp. It was for my back injury. It was hot, I was in pain, and the ceiling of the tube was right in my face. He did the first set and I started whimpering. The tech asked if I was okay, and I said, No. By then I was crying because I knew I had to do it. He pulled me out. The tech said I should get drugs and try again the next day. The snotty receptionist at the Dr's office said, "We ASKED you if you were claustrophobic." I told her, I didn't know I was. But they had me pick up a valium pill. The next day I took the pill. I had my mom take me and had her stand near the end of the tube and read to me while it was going on. She was reading "Out of Africa". And she just started with the first chapter in between the banging. I had a farm in Africa...Just hearing her voice calmed down. But it was not pleasant.
  14. I don't really want to get into it Renee. But one of the people I used to inspect at a plant nursery was going through a divorce. He killed his wife. Which was horrible enough. But then he took his 5-year-old daughter to the GG Bridge and threw her off before he jumped himself. It just gives me nightmares and nets would have helped. I am a big proponent of the nets. That was the first thing I noticed about the Sydney Bridge. Our family has been greatly impacted by Bill's brother's suicide. It was not a bridge thing. No matter the method, it just so affects the people that are left behind.
  15. I would hope that a 3-year-old would never get far enough away from you, that a tracking device would be needed.
  16. Beautiful! And awesome. It looks like they have most of the jumper nets almost completed. That project should have been done a very long time ago. The weather was nice yesterday, but it's been very windy. Have fun on your cruise!
  17. We are just purchasing inexpensive, matching stainless refrigerator/microwave/stove-oven because we are selling the house. New owners can sell them and replace with whatever they wish.
  18. Huh! I just turned 65 too. June 11th. Bill gave me a B&N gift card. Which is my most favorite gift. But yours sounds good too. This birthday age was a little tough, so I understand what your wife was feeling. It is one of those transitional birthdays. 😊
  19. I have no firsthand knowledge. But I don't think it will be available to regular passengers, until possibly sometime after the World Cruise.
  20. Generally, the Promenade deck is windy as all get out, when the ship is underway. Viking Crown is quiet, until disco starts. The Solarium is quiet, generally. On most ships, I sit up on the pool deck and read. It is generally quiet, once the insanely loud movie is over. You'll find somewhere to read. I always do. But actually, thinking about it...I can read through all kinds of noise. It doesn't have to be quiet. 😊
  21. You can try, but there might be a daily limit on charge to room. If you are unable to charge the full amount, maybe have your wife try an additional withdrawal on another machine. I have charged to room many times, but never for such a large amount.
