  1. That's okay John. Family Go Boston and RSharpe are doing a live review for your cruise. 😊 There are a lot of live reviews going on this week. Don't worry about it. Pop in when you can! We'd love to hear and see how it is going. πŸ˜€
  2. Wow! They are posting photos of the PBG tornado damage today. That was quite a storm! Tornado flips cars, damages homes in coastal Florida city (yahoo.com)
  3. It is Pat! It is so nice to find a person you can count on! ☺️ There are 3 more bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the exterior to paint, and he is actually excited about the work.
  4. The rainforest bridges in Costa Rica almost killed me. They took us to the top of a mountain with a guide and we walked some number of miles downhill. I just about died. The lodge was in sight, and I said, I don't think I can make it anymore. When we got to the bottom, I drank more water. Our driver was so concerned, he had me sit in the front seat of the van and directed the air vents at my face. Like you, I am no longer a hiker. Beautiful photo though! ☺️
  5. That's pretty! Is it for kitties or people? Mom and her cats are just going in the Rhododendron grove that she planted at the other house. It is gorgeous when they are in bloom. I thought I would just have a resin rock inscribed with all their names. The kitchen painting came out nice. I will post a photo after we get the floors and new pantry door installed. And we have finally found a reliable and somewhat of a perfectionist painter. we will be using him for more projects. ☺️
  6. My former employer just states that I have to sign up for Medicare. They work with a company called Via Benefits that brokers all the insurance plans either an Advantage plan or Medigap plan, or one of the others. The county (my former employer) will reimburse my costs for Part B, Plan G and Plan D. Reimbursement is not a vested right, but it is popular and they plan to keep doing it. There are no Advantage plans or HMO's in the county where the other house is. So, I needed a plan that is portable.
  7. I am just figuring out this Medicare stuff, but I don't see how they can force you into an Advantage plan. I really dislike HMO's. I purchased a Medigap plan G, and a drug plan, part D. They are really cheap, compared to what my prior subsidized insurance cost. Advantage plans aren't accepted nationwide, so it doesn't make any sense that it would be in your best interest.
  8. Thank you, twangster! Your lovely photos helped me to piece together how the new locks were going to interface with the old locks. Last time we did a transit, the new locks were *almost* completed, but I couldn't figure out how it was going to work.
  9. Quick story. I used to drive a government vehicle, all day, just about every day. Periodically, I would stop at a park with a dumpster, to clean out miscellaneous forms and paperwork and those stray French fries. One day, at a park, I was cleaning and had all 4 doors and the trunk open. A Police officer with his K-9 partner pulled in and parked near me. She was a Rottweiler and she bounced around the park for a while before she jumped up to sit in my front passenger seat. πŸ˜€ I laughed and said it's okay, it's a government car. He was kind of annoyed and pulled her out and said, "She's not taking you for a ride, and you're not supposed to jump in random people's cars!"😊
  10. No. It shouldn't matter. I have never seen them match names with tickets. When you meet in the theater, they generally seem to give you a sticker for your tour group.
  11. We just did a B2B on Serenade. Our favorite bar server was there for both weeks. In addition to tipping for most drinks, we gave him a small tip for week 1 and a larger one for week 2. Our fabulous room steward didn't even leave tip envelopes on the first week. We gave him a large tip for both weeks at the end of the second. As an add on to the pre-paid gratuities.
  12. We were just there in mid-March. We didn't get off because it was cold, super windy and raining off and on. Many of the passengers who did, had to come back and get warmer clothes. We didn't get off before it was developed either, because I am not a fan of tender ports. Maybe next time. ☺️
  13. It looks really nice Greg! 5 neighbors have synthetic turf, and they all have to vacuum, or leaf blow theirs. Is that the standard maintenance procedure?
  14. Before drink packages, you used to be able to buy a bucket of beer. Buy 5, get one free. And just ask that they not be opened. You might have to find a long time bartender. I'm not sure what the procedures are now. Some employees tend to want to open them now. But since it is mostly cans, it should work out.
  15. Red Roof Inn Plus was reportedly struck by lightning last night. I don't know if that is the same place, a reported hotel fire occurred at 4 AM. All third hand news.
  16. Oops sorry. The menu options seem to be greatly reduced. My apologies.
  17. Smaller ship cruising is fun! It is like going away to summer camp. πŸ˜„ Your trip report is great!
  18. Good to know Helen! I thought we were the only people left that had 6S phones! πŸ˜„ We will be upgrading ours sometime this year. ☺️
