  1. That sounds like what I have heard about foot surgery. It would be pretty awful. When my close co-worker had bunion surgery, they actually told her to bring headphones. and music. We were in a hot tub at a conference several years later. I held up my foot and asked if hers had looked like mine. She also said O-M-G. No. Hers weren't nearly that bad. The podiatrist also said mine were really bad. But my toes don't overlap, and wide shoes seem to be fine. I was actually scheduled for surgery, but I chickened out.
  2. @A&L_Ont I think that if Owen ever needs extra income during his adult life, he could probably have a career in the sales of hockey sport memorabilia. Amazing! 😊
  3. I don't know where you heard that or what your health service is like. But I seriously doubt if that is the case with a hip replacement Graham. Based on the number of contortions and procedures involved in the surgery, general anesthesia is definitely required. Most people would faint dead away if they were allowed to be awake during the procedure.
  4. Thank you so much Larry! That is very helpful. And it gives me some alternative exterior choices. Those look very nice together.
  5. Oh yes! Thank you @brillohead for the very thorough explanation on how the margins are determined, and the reason for the length of the excision. That makes sense. I appreciate all your advice. I was just a little shocked when I removed the bandages for the first time. ☺️
  6. It looks very nice! It will be like a whole new house. Question: Do you know what color that gray is? Manufacturer and color. We are looking for a color for our partial siding. I have a sample can of Sherwin Williams "Inkwell", but we haven't test painted yet, and it might be too dark. I like your dark gray.
  7. Cats are always so helpful that way. ☺️ We always said that Bobby was looking for the secret door that would let him outside. I accidentally closed him in one of the storage end tables one afternoon. πŸ˜„
  8. I have had both of my hips replaced. They do the replacements anterior now. And they are really not that bad. They will have you up and walking a few hours after the surgery. I was fully improved in 4 to 6 weeks. There are exercises involved. And for Graham that was worried about blood clots, you are on many blood thinners. For both surgeries, I had to inject blood thinners into my stomach once a day. (very small needle) and take a full size aspirin, for about 2 weeks. Bill thought he would have to stay home with me. But he only had to stay home for a day. I could get around pretty well with my walker and we just put snacks and cereal within easy reach. ☺️
  9. @Jimbo IW on the Radiance thread booked Quantum, departing on the 29th from Vancouver to Alaska. So she is still going. For some odd reason, her post about it and mine were removed. CC works in mysterious ways sometimes.
  10. In any case. Enjoy your new Alaska sailing! Definitely lemonade out of lemons. That was a great plan. ☺️
  11. True. But they advise you to wait. At least with hips. Because they sometimes don't last forever. But my wonderful surgeon, mentioned quality of life (which was true). He said to do them and worry about a possible revision in the future.
  12. The trailer looks really good, but also very sad. I don't really like sad movies, especially involving animals. Because I cry so much. We will probably watch a few more episodes of FALLOUT tonight.
  13. Your posts are always so friendly and thoughtful. I was a little shocked. But I only looked at it once. I am not going to say anything else about people and the way they behave on message boards sometimes.
  14. I have seen a few hypnotists. There is always that question about "Is it fake"? I really don't know. I have volunteered, but never been chosen as a participant.
  15. I am so sorry to hear that. You have been doing such a fabulous job of keeping us updated with your wonderful photos. I think I can speak for others to say we really appreciate it! I hope everything works out at home. It is sad that you have to cut your cruise short.
  16. It closed a while ago. I think 2 years without cruise ship visitors probably did it in.
  17. Are you looking to do the water slides? We were fine with just walking around. There are some Chihuly glass sculptures in the casino. We were able to walk out on a lobby balcony and see a manta ray come up from the aquarium. We had some overpriced snacks and drinks, (listened in on a walking tour that was going on). Gambled a bit, sat in the big chair for photos. We were probably there about 3 hours. It was pleasant. We felt like we've seen it. We took a cab back instead of the horrid water taxi. 😊 The water taxis are terribly overcrowded. No wonder they tip over sometimes. They pack as many people as they can in. And then there is an uphill walk to the resort, not fun in hot weather.
