  1. You do not need a Yellow Fever vaccine to visit French Polynesia. And welcome to Cruise Critic! ☺️
  2. We usually check in on the others anyway, with minimal information, and just choose the latest boarding time, so others can have the early times. I think it just shows that we are there.
  3. Thank you for your interesting live trip report. We are trying Celebrity for the first time in 2026. So, it was very helpful. I am better at identifying animals than I am people. πŸ™„πŸ˜ƒ We really should have gotten off one of the several times we have stopped in Cartegena. It is always so hot and humid, that we have stayed onboard.
  4. It looks like a Peccary or Javelina. Great photos! https://www.desertmuseum.org/kids/oz/long-fact-sheets/Javelina.php
  5. Seriously? πŸ˜„ And they say California is weird. LOL. When we had the almost full solar eclipse in 2017, everyone went to work and school, and we just paused our day and went out to look at it for a while. (with eclipse glasses) There was a lot of hype here, too. But it was just a regular day, with an event. You can get photos, if you take them through the lense of the glasses. And yes, we usually do have fog in August.
  6. Thanks so much for posting. But we can't. I thought retirement would make it easier, but we are in the middle of a move. And it hasn't. ☺️
  7. Definitely a good preparation on your part! Have a great cruise! ☺️
  8. We are trying Celebrity in 2026. Same company, not a real change. Pricing is better, for a longer cruise and a better itinerary, rather that Royal's mediocre, short ones.
  9. No. they haven't rolled it out. And unfortunately, everyone will probably complain when they do. Because people will then want to change them after they have already reserved. And just an FYI, obtaining reservations for UDP dining on Navigator is not pleasant. You are in a line, the woman in front of you is yelling at the reservation person. My best suggestion would be....type out a list of the restaurants, dates and times that you would like to request. (in advance of the sailing). Then you can just hand it to them, and they will do their best to accommodate you. Then you won't be one of THOSE people, going on about how that "won't work, and B can't come, and It has to be on this night and blah, blah, blah." πŸ™„ And holding everyone else up in the line, while we would like to get back to vacationing. All your reservations will then show up in the app onboard. ☺️ And plan on putting Playmakers and Johnny Rockets Express somewhere in your dining plans, so you don't even need to worry about reservations.
  10. Many years ago, we were on the old Carnival Jubilee during a storm and high waves. The casino was just about empty, and I was playing a slot machine near the quarter pusher. Periodically, a dollar or two in quarters would fall out of the machine, and I would scoop them up and put them in the slot machine I was playing. πŸ˜„ The next morning it was turned off and had yellow tape around it. They are fun, like any gambling, and we play with them a little bit sometimes. 😊
  11. Thanks. That is really sad. People should never have to go to work expecting to die. The unexpected sometimes happens, but I am sorry for them and their families. It was kind of a sad news day all around. It is awful to hear about the King and tragic to read about Catherine. What a difficult thing for the family to be going through. We wish them all well. Comfort for the families of the crew members. And healing and hope for the royal family members.
  12. Thanks John! Such amazing photos, that they were memorable. It is something that passengers don't see of the other side. ☺️
  13. There is an entire apartment building/dorms for the CocoCay staff. @Ozark_Kid has a photo of the complex that he took from the top of the tall slide.
  14. Pat. Please email me at pbhunt at pacbell dot net I thought had his email, but it just bounced. I have Bill talked into it.
  15. They change prices all the time. I should have mentioned you don't have to get up at midnight to book them. They just haven't released or adjusted them yet. Just take a look occasionally. You can change flights right online and receive additional SWA credit (that does not expire). SWA also has unadvertised, discounted senior fares that are fully refundable. It used to be that you mailed them a copy of your DL to get in their system. I just became eligible, but now you have to call them, and they will probably have you email. Note: Save the page with your booking number, because that is tied to the future credit you will receive for price drops.
  16. We have them because Oakland (OAK) is a SWA hub, and the vast majority of the airport's business is about Southwest. If we fly down to Long Beach to board Navigator, we have flights as low as $29 sometimes. Or to Reno, or Las Vegas, similar inexpensive pricing, $100 or so (on occasion). To Florida, or New Orleans, not so much. ☺️ I will miss that when we move.
  17. Jane. Does that mean you went with the expensive corrective lenses? That would be helpful to know for those of us looking at cataract surgery in the future. I am glad to read that it went so well!
