I am glad Ricky is feeling better. I never thought about cats and dogs having blood types. I do recall that my Great Dane/Boxer mix dog was a regular blood donor. The vet just called one day and asked if I could bring him down to donate. And after that, he gave pretty regularly. I never asked, but they must have had dogs needing transfusions that were compatible. It was before computers, so we couldn't find out all these things. βΊοΈ

Ritaβs Cantina on Jewel
Coralc replied to captainannoyed!'s topic in Royal Caribbean International
Rita's has been removed from all of the Radiance class ships and is just Windjammer seating. On Serenade, the bar remained last time we were onboard. But I have read recently on the World Cruise posts that it has been replaced by a smoothie bar. -
It is the window washing equipment. They probably park it there when it is not in use. it is fine and doesn't impact your view at all. Have a great cruise! It is not lowered, (that I have seen) it just slides along the side of the ship. Probably should explain a bit. A harnessed crew member stands on it and pressure washes the windows and balconies.

Earthquakes always ramp up. (You just kind of pause and wait to see how muchπ€) 1989 Loma Prieta was a 6.9. I was sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper when it started. And then it started ramping and it felt like the kitchen was going off the foundation. The ceiling fan was swaying broadly. At that point I went under the table. And then I went and found Walter the cat, who was flat on his tummy, all 4 paws stretched out and trying to hold onto the concrete in the driveway for dear life. I checked in with the neighbors who were all out in their front yards. I brought Walter back in and continued reading the paper. It wasn't until about 20 minutes later, that I thought to turn on the TV. And lots of stuff was happening. Surprisingly, we had damage from that one. There is a small crack in the driveway that continues all the way up through the concrete front porch. According to the Richter Scale, each whole number is a 10x increase in amplitude/magnitude. Fours shake stuff, but they don't do much. You think about yourself and your pets, then your neighbors and family, and then everyone else. Probably typical of most disasters.

Live From Celebrity Constellation 3/11-3/23
Coralc replied to jam19872016's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Thank you for your interesting live trip report. We are trying Celebrity for the first time in 2026. So, it was very helpful. I am better at identifying animals than I am people. ππ We really should have gotten off one of the several times we have stopped in Cartegena. It is always so hot and humid, that we have stayed onboard. -
Live From Celebrity Constellation 3/11-3/23

It looks like a Peccary or Javelina. Great photos! https://www.desertmuseum.org/kids/oz/long-fact-sheets/Javelina.php -
Seriously? π And they say California is weird. LOL. When we had the almost full solar eclipse in 2017, everyone went to work and school, and we just paused our day and went out to look at it for a while. (with eclipse glasses) There was a lot of hype here, too. But it was just a regular day, with an event. You can get photos, if you take them through the lense of the glasses. And yes, we usually do have fog in August.

Thanks so much for posting. But we can't. I thought retirement would make it easier, but we are in the middle of a move. And it hasn't. βΊοΈ

No. they haven't rolled it out. And unfortunately, everyone will probably complain when they do. Because people will then want to change them after they have already reserved. And just an FYI, obtaining reservations for UDP dining on Navigator is not pleasant. You are in a line, the woman in front of you is yelling at the reservation person. My best suggestion would be....type out a list of the restaurants, dates and times that you would like to request. (in advance of the sailing). Then you can just hand it to them, and they will do their best to accommodate you. Then you won't be one of THOSE people, going on about how that "won't work, and B can't come, and It has to be on this night and blah, blah, blah." π And holding everyone else up in the line, while we would like to get back to vacationing. All your reservations will then show up in the app onboard. βΊοΈ And plan on putting Playmakers and Johnny Rockets Express somewhere in your dining plans, so you don't even need to worry about reservations.

Coin Pusher Casino GameβDo You Play These?
Coralc replied to CntPAcruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Many years ago, we were on the old Carnival Jubilee during a storm and high waves. The casino was just about empty, and I was playing a slot machine near the quarter pusher. Periodically, a dollar or two in quarters would fall out of the machine, and I would scoop them up and put them in the slot machine I was playing. π The next morning it was turned off and had yellow tape around it. They are fun, like any gambling, and we play with them a little bit sometimes. π -
Thanks. That is really sad. People should never have to go to work expecting to die. The unexpected sometimes happens, but I am sorry for them and their families. It was kind of a sad news day all around. It is awful to hear about the King and tragic to read about Catherine. What a difficult thing for the family to be going through. We wish them all well. Comfort for the families of the crew members. And healing and hope for the royal family members.

Thanks John! Such amazing photos, that they were memorable. It is something that passengers don't see of the other side. βΊοΈ
