Can I cancel an excursion before I board the ship?
You have up to 24 hours before an excursion to cancel and be refunded,
If you are having doubts or a question about an excursion, the Shore Excursion Desk should be opened and manned when you you first board the ship.
The Alaskan cruise is wonderful and The Jewel is a wonderful ship with a great staff. I was just on Her in May for Her first Alaskan of the season. I am in the process of trying to figure if I can go again and be on your cruise. Have you joined the Roll Call for this cruise.?

I am very sensitive to smoke and do not have a problem on the Getaway. I have just come back from my 5th cruise on her.
Yes, late in the evening there is residual smoke from the casino. But not very much.
Enjoy the ship and your cruise. She is wonderful and so is Her staff.

Welcome Home Glad your cruise went well.
Who was your Captain?

I was on The Gateway for Thanksgiving last year. Best cruise I have had in a long long time. If I remember correctly I eat in one of the main dining rooms and had more food than I could eat.
They had Thanksgiving decorations everywhere. Football on the big screen and lot of other screens. A free hot dog stand going off to the side of the atrium.
I had so much fun that I am going back this year for Christmas and I can not wait.

I brought The Getaway across The Atlantic from Southampton, United Kingdom to new York City in January 2014 and did not receive anything to commemorate it.
-
Do you remember who the Senior Bridge and Hotel Officers were?
-
No there is not.
-
When I was on The Getaway late May, early June, flowers for sale were only available when the Restaurant Reservations Desk was manned.
-
May I ask how much they were if you got them on board? Thanks.
$6.00 a rose
-
Yes, you can buy roses at the Restaurant Reservations Desk just left of the Guest Service Desk in the Atrium Deck 6 Mid Ship. All I have ever seen is roses. I ordered some on my cruise last month.

No drawer space but lots of shelving, most hidden behind sliding doors. I NEVER use all the space available.

Sea-Tac has three terminals:
Airport Security is in the main terminal building and it serves a number of different airlines. The North Satellite serves mostly Alaskan. The South Satellite serves international carriers but United and Delta. There is a little tram that goes out to each satellite.
I just did an Alaskan cruise last month. I had a transfer from the ship to the airport and arrived at the airport about 10:00 A.M. I have a mobility issue myself, even with airport assistance, I do not know that I would risk a flight that early.
Have a great cruise and enjoy one of my favorite cities.

With school vacation season beginning now, Yes she can get a little crowded. I was on the 31st of May to the 6th of June and it was not bad. There is a lot do on the ship. Freestyle Daily has lots of activities for you to choose. If you are booked on the 6 December cruise, you will be between The Thanksgiving week and before the Christmas crowds. You should be fine. Great ship with great staff. Have fun.

I am not positive but there is a bus called The Airporter that goes to a number of downtown hotels that might work. You will find it out the door off baggage claim that says" Ground Transportation". I have used it a number of times when staying downtown. Some of the downtown hotels have their own shuttles. Might want to check with the hotel.
Have a great cruise.

You have to be out of your cabin by 9 A.M.
They try to have the ship cleared of passengers by 9:30 A.M.

Coming out of St. Thomas (Tuesday night) at about 10:45 P.M. Very beautiful show about 15 minutes in length. Weather conditions could change the day. Enjoy

Where are you staying in Seattle?
At the end of my cruise on The Jewel last month, I had purchased a transfer from the ship back to the airport. Walked off the ship, got on the bus and we were off. Very simple.
Enjoy the city, The Pearl and your cruise.

Best thing you can do for staff is keep a list of those you encounter that go the extra mile for you, fill out comment cards for them, and mention them in your Post Cruise Survey. If someone is really outstanding write a letter to Corporate Headquarters in Miami. The address is on the website.

Is that real recent, I though I saw a post from a month or so ago naming him, very nice guy, absolutely took care of us last year, would just show up and ask what our dinner plans were and would have the staff waiting or us with a wine list and a smile.....
Deepak left on February 21st. I know because I was on board when things happened. yes, I stay in touch with a number of Norwegian staff members both on the Corporate and ship side. Have many good friends as Norwegian staff members.
-
On very RARE occasions you might be able to change cabins or upgrade once you are on board. Most of the time ships are completely sold out and nothing is available.
-
There has always been a limited menu available in Blue Lagoon (O'Sheehan's) from about 10 P.M. until about 5 A.M. This has been true in all 25 of my Norwegian cruises.
-
I am very sorry about your experience aboard The Jewel. I was on her first sailing of the season 9 May to 16 May and other than some very rude passengers, my experience was amazing. I thought the ship was well maintained. There was always Deck staff working outside except the day we were in Glacier Bay.
To me the most outstanding staff members were Hotel Director Steven Jacobsen and Restaurant Manager Noel Chaves.
Out of my 24 Norwegian cruises this will stand out a long time as one of my very favorites. I can not wait to sail on Her in January.
-
Who was the Restaurant Manager? The Getaway has had several in the last few months with more staff changes coming getting The Escape ready for Her saling.
-
Who were the Senior Officers both on the Hotel side and the Bridge side?
Can you cancel an excursion
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
Unless there is real to cancel, I would wait for the cruise and then decide.
I have had second thoughts about an excursion and cancel after a discussion with the Shore Excursion staff. My question to them usually is (because I am almost 69), I will say to one off them, would allow your Grandmother to go on this excursion.
