  4. Hmmm, sounds interesting. I will definitely check it out!! Thanks :)

I looked a little while ago and there is an established Roll Call for your cruise.

    Go to Roll Calls

    Norwegian

    Jewel

Scroll down the list until you find it.

It was toward the bottom of the page when I checked.

    Enjoy

Welcome to Norwegian Cruise Line, The Jewel and Cruise Critic.

  5. We go the week before on the 17th. Have never joined a roll call. What does that do?

Roll Call is is an opportunity to talk with people who will also be on your cruise. Most times there are very experienced cruisers who gave give you very good advice. Often times there are other like you who either completely new to cruising or new to Norwegian.

Usually someone on the Roll Call makes arrangements for a Meet and Greet the morning of the first Sea Day. Norwegian provides a room, beverages and sweets. All those who wish from the Roll Call amy attend. It is a private function for Cruise Critic members (like yourself and your traveling companions). All of the Senior Hotel Management Staff attend and once in awhile the Captain. It only takes an hour or so and it interesting. I will be hosted the Meet and Greet for the week of the 24th.

There is no charge. Sign up on your Roll Call and enjoy.

  6. What is the date for your cruise? There is probably a Roll Call for your cruise.

I am cruising on The Jewel 24-31 January and I can not wait.

Reservations are not needed for the two main dining rooms. Since you are in Suites, your Concierge, will be able to advise you as to shows (no reservations required) and make dinner reservations for you.

The Jewel is a wonderful ship with a great staff. I was just on Her in early May for Her first cruise to Alaska and can not wait to get back.

  7. Thank You So Much www3traveler, at least we will know one Special HD in Brian Walters! We go back as far as 2009 with him and NCL, at that time, he had been with NCL already for a Loooong time. He is a real Gentleman. It will be nice to cruise with him again.:) (Hope he doesn't leave the ship when it arrives in Vancouver or San Diego) The rest of the crew, is anybody's guess, as their contract will take most of them to So. America for the season.

I hope in the next week or two, someone on the Norwegian Sun Coastal to San Diego will know more and come here and post. Our cruise is down to 21 days. With the new Escape coming out and all the recent changes in Officers and Crew, we might not ever know who will be there!:(

I will post as soon as I get home.

Brian is scheduled to be the HD for the Coastal Cruise. Not sure beyond that, but I will ask.

Yes, with so many staff either already on The Escape or soon heading there, it is difficult to keep up with individual staff members.

  8. The Dawn is a wonderful ship with a great staff. I did this cruise this past January and would love to do it again.

Please if you can, add extra days to just be in and see New Orleans.

I have never sailed anything but Norwegian so I can not compare for you. I will be leaving in a few days on cruise #26, if that tells you anything.

  9. If your have purchased an excursion from Norwegian, you excursion ticket will have the time to board the tenders.

It will be announced in the Freestyle Daily what time and the location of to pick up tenders for the following day. Only person from your group needs to get the tickets for all your members. They will be issued by number: 1, 2, 3 etc. Someone from the Cruise staff will make an announcement when they are ready for each group. At some point during the day tender tickets will not be required an announcement will be made when that time comes.

  10. I was on The Getaway last Thanksgiving: (1) food everywhere including a hot dog stand for all those watching football in the Atrium. (2) Thanksgiving dinner on the menu in the MDR (3) Class Room type decorations everywhere. (4) Staff loved Thanksgiving- most did not understand the history but they loved the food and the football- what they understood of our version of football- very different from their fotball especially the cheerleaders.

Best cruise I have had in a long time. Had so much fun I am going back this year for Christmas.
