  1. The only reason we pick select is because I can’t eat late and don’t want to get late sitting. This, of course no longer matters on Arvia and Iona. so only book select on those if the price is only a little bit different.
  2. Enjoy your cruise. The short cruises probably won’t give you the normal P & O experience as sometimes they might be used as booze cruises, also there will probably be a different clientele to the longer cruises . There probably won’t be a formal night on the cruise , I think it will tell you on your Cruise Personaliser before the cruise. You can normally book some of the entertainment 2 weeks before the cruise. This is a new feature since Covid and hasn’t proved to be popular as most people like to decide on the day and I think they might be going to drop it on some of the ships. Drinks etc are very good value compared to Cunard & Princess etc. I think you can book some of the specialty restaurants before the cruise as well, I’m sure someone will correct me on that if I am wrong. We don’t normally book before as we normally have OBC and if you book before you can’t use it.
  3. There is normally an Easter church service in the theatre although Arvia being a new family ship they may not do that. We have been aboard at Easter many times and seen the kids clubs with helpers of course doing Easter Hunts, again Arvia and Iona are going to be packed with kids this Easter so they may not as think it will be too much with many kids looking.
  4. One of the MDR’s will be for the set dining normally 6.30 or and 8.30 . If you are Freedom Dining or AnyTime Dining ( I can never remember which is P & O terminology and which is Princess) you can normally use any of the other 2 dining rooms. At least you could when we last sailed on Britannia before Covid, but we have sailed twice on P & O since Covid on other P & O ships and could . As has been said previously you can use any dining room that is open for Breakfast and lunch, check the Horizon that is delivered every night for the next day.
  5. We have exactly the same problem with my Husband’s hearing so ask for a table for two, one with his back to a wall is also preferable
  6. The tablecloths were in the buffet area for The Chef’s Table which is all part of the formal/celebration night and can be booked online before you go. This is the same as on Iona and worked perfectly well
  7. I overheard a conversation on Iona some chap saying he booked the limelight club expecting to see a young lass from Scotland singing folk songs but boy was he wrong. He then went on to say how good it was and how much he enjoyed it.
  8. Princess give out bottles of sparkling wine like sweeties for their quizzes I suppose to keep all the Americans on board happy. it doesn’t bother me that you don’t get much from P & O quizzes
  9. Judy Dench perhaps or someone similar
  10. Thanks both I was hoping to book onboard to use OBC but perhaps might just have to book before . Do you still get your Peninsular discount if you book beforehand?
  11. Sorry another question, how does the Limelight Club work as regards seating? Is it first booked gets the best seats or first in the queue on the day?
  12. Yes we do have a lot and will struggle to spend it as don’t drink, well only very occasionally so perhaps once or twice on a 14 day cruise we might have a drink.
  13. Do they ever do any offers on the Specialty Dining on board as I don’t want to book beforehand as have OBC to use up? They used to give discounts and/or a free bottle of wine in Sindhu if you booked an early slot pre Covid.
  14. I will also be watching the Coronation on the telly all day , looking forward to it. I am so glad our next cruise in is April so we won’t be away for it, I would have been gutted if we already had a cruise booked for that date. We are having a Street Party on the Sunday so will have all the bunting out a few days before. We each decorate our houses plus we have bunting for the street as well which goes from the lamp posts and across from one house to the other etc. 🇬🇧🤴🇬🇧🤴🇬🇧🤴 I was too young to remember the last coronation but I have now lived under 3 different Monarchs, being only a baby when George 6th died.
  15. What is the difference between the two MDRs on Arvia. I know they have the same menu but I understand one has tablecloths and one doesn’t? Is that correct? I don’t mind if they don’t have tablecloths as long as they are nice tables, tiled etc. Which one is the general opinion to be the best to go to, and which is the most difficult to get into. Any info or opinion welcome. TIA
  16. I’ve found it now thanks.
  17. Thanks, I just tried to download but I don’t suppose anyone knows where to find downloads on an I pad as I have no idea where it’s gone. Thanks
  18. Has anyone got the web page or a copy of the list that was around before Covid that listed all ports and whether they were payable ( for Saver Fare) free because town provides a free shuttle or you are in a working port. Or whether you can just walk as docks in town.
  19. They were open most of the day with a break for lunchtime on Iona recently. Because there wasn’t many school age kids at the time they combined the two older age groups
  20. No one on the ship or the locals were wearing masks on our November cruise to the Canary Islands
  21. Is that the MDR or speciality dining as we are on 28th Jan and can’t book for MDR
  22. Perhaps it is because there are only 2 MDRs on Arvia so they open the bookings early.
  23. I see many are reporting being able to book MDR before you board on Arvia, we are boarding Iona soon and can’t see anywhere to book MDR. Has anyone been able to book MDR on Iona before they boarded?
