My budget doesn't quite stretch as far as Silverseas.

Yeah the cruising in general is very skinny out of Melbourne. I looked at Azamara a couple of times. The one leaving Melbourne in JAn 2025 as well. Just cant pull trigger on anything at moment. So undecided. We got Princess out of Melbourne in October. So once past final payment on that. Then I look at Xmas/NYE time.

I'm looking at a couple of cruises out of Singapore Dec/Jan. I have heard that HAL skews old but that doesn't bother me so much.

With Princess abandoning Australian/NZ cruisers by cutting the sailings down to the bare bones it has left me searching for alternative options. I have always looked at Holland America itineraries and they seem to have some unique itineriaries. Maybe its time this Princess cruiser move or maybe considred another line. Anyone else looking at alternative lines. I know I miss the Australian dollars that Princess offered out of Australia. However, I can adjust my spending accoringly. And I can't see myself crusing Carnival or PO.

I bet there will be a limit on numbers that can choose reservable. That option would be problematic at times to try and staff if people have weird variances. We tend to be late dinners and not in any rush (like some people to run down to dinner at 6 pm on the dot). That where having Premier package is good if you like going to the theatre that way you dont have to woof your dinner down and do the mad dash to the theatre to get a seat.

Thank goodness it doesn't effect my cruise booked out of Sydney on the Crown. Already had the Grand Princess cruise cancelled on me.

Nothing to October when we on the Diamond Princess out of Melbourne for one of the last Princess cruises out of Melbourne. We actually flying tommorrow to Auckland. But we doing a driving holiday for a week just around a bit of NZ middle of Northland and to see some family. None of the cruises appeal to me at the moment its to the same ports that have been done over and over again.

Maybe. Need to see the costs associated. But I will consider them.

Some cruises in Australia sell out very quickly. If you could post some dates I could also check too to see if its a glitch or it is sold out.

Well when its basically PO sailing out of Melbourne from next year and not much else then there is quite a bit of scope. I like the smaller ships too. However, the main stream cruiselines are not building smaller ships so you have to look towards boutique cruiselines and then comes $$$ per night.

Now for some decent ships. Though I would be happier with better pricing for overseas cruise departures.

Much have dropped it since we were on the Royal Princess in December. Shame about that.

And Te Papa is free No need to go on ship tour. Take the shuttle to the second stop and it basically across the road from the stop. Same with Cable car. Get off at first stop and buy your tickets.

Because its departing from a non Australian/NZ port then gratitutes are not included in the fare that you paid.

Yes please share more on balcony issue as I'm looking at Cunard as possible cruise at Xmas if they cruise fares settle down 🙂 Why was Japan hard to cruise? Was it the language barrier?

Still overpriced. Cannot convince me to cruise either RCL or Celebrity out of Australian waters. There zero incentive. I've been watching the fares for months.

I guess there no wiggle room.

I might cruise RCL if they home port a ship in Melbourne for the season.

So where are the actual itineraries and the pricing?

We already booked on one of the last Princess cruises out of Melbourne in October now 🙂 But thanks for heads up. I do like Carnival over PO.

I'm holding a booking on the Princess PNG cruise in 2026 I think it is on the Grand. Cause their last offering was last week prior to Xmas. No way was Pete getting time off the. I did look at going to PNG with PO this year but I too slow and I think it sold out. Ive only ever cruise RCL once on the Rasphody of Seas. I avoid mainly cause of the US dollar factor but I might try some out this year depending on the cruise price and the itinerary.
