  1. I've been to Ephesus, Pompeii, and Delphi: all three on my "Top Ten" list. Alfaeric is correct above.
  2. Your opinion. But, since you weren't on the call with me, and you didn't hear the multiple times he came back with more information, I think declaring him "definitely confused" is a stretch. He was quite diligent and wanted to answer the question accurately. And, yes, as I stated above, this change in policy appears to only affect changes, and not cancellations.
  3. Except that he was reading the new, unpublished policies, and consulting with another department about it while I was on hold. We don't know what's in the new policies, even though I believe you are correct. I think the 5/31/22 date is related to some other portion of it. We'll all see when it's made available.
  4. That's what the D+ desk at C&A told me after he read the latest update to their change and cancellation policies. I'm just the messenger. Once they actually have something on their web site, we can all read it for ourselves.
  5. Happened to me in March on either the Vision or the Jewel (one of them left from Pier G in Miami). My porter told me which door to go to for disable entrance, but I don't need that. When I saw a man walking sloooooowly with a cane, I stopped him and told him to go up to the other entrance. The line was waaaay behind me, and I was waaaay away from the regular entrance. I don't know how that man would have made it otherwise.
  6. He DID! And, he was eating, so the whole package was pretty off-putting.
  7. I have paid the $100 change fee under some circumstances. Twice I did so to book a better itinerary, BUT the per day price was better, too.
  8. I've always avoided cancelling a cruise, and try to move it to another cruise. This way I'll pay the change fee, and now as of 6/1 I KNOW I want to do this for sure. I misread original post, and thought the lost deposit was on ship and sail date changes for some reason.
  9. I called C&A today. I was told the CWC policy is ending on 5/31, as stated above, and the cancellation/change policies would revert back to pre-pandemic. FCCs will be gone, and the $100 change fee per person remains.
  10. OK, to be perfectly honest: I was taken aback by the guy in the Diamond Lounge wearing these: He looked like he was wearing his underwear at first glance.
  11. Yes. We used to get all fired up about what to wear in the main dining room, then it was "will grandma make it through this pandemic without dying?", and now it's "who cares what we wear, WE'RE CRUISING AGAIN!!!!".
  12. It's weird, actually. It's like mask mandates are lifted, and people act like it's all gone magically away. The most recent variants are MORE infectious. But, they aren't killing as many people. My thinking is why would I want to DELIBERATLY make myself sick if I don't have to? I just wear the mask when needed. Simple, no drama, no nothing but take it off when the crowd thins out. Oh, and keep Bath and Body Works PocketPac hand sanitizer in strategic places to remind me to clean my hands: the car, the kitchen, the desk drawer, etc.
  13. None of those anvils are falling on my cruises, unfortunately. I'll keep checking. As a matter of fact, one of mine didn't even show up at all......that's good for a mini-panic attack.
  14. The main dining room wait staff REALLY want to replace the dinner. I've never had a problem at all. I find I have an entrée that's under or overcooked about every other cruise, so it's not a real habit.
  15. I haven't had this to be the case recently. I was on the Navi (6 times), the Vision b2b, and the Jewel b2b in the last 3 months, and found the food in the main dining room to be quite good. I think I may have not liked my entree twice in 58 days of sailing, and they replaced it with something else.
  16. Agree. Just go in and pay for the first night, and then ask them to call and tell you what nights to show up. I've always thought the first two nights policy was not a good business decision. It could be use it any night between the hours of x and x, or any time where they usually have lighter bookings.
  17. Speaking only for myself, I am very happy I might have found a solution to not coming home sick after a cruise. I was getting very, very tired of it. Every.Single.Cruise. I cruised for 58 days from Feb-May this year, plus went to MI to see family. Lots and lots of people, airplanes, airports, cruise ships, and I didn't get a cold or anything else. Yeah, I want to avoid COVID, too. But, I like that I have a pretty good way to not make myself deliberately sick in other ways now, too. That's why I like wearing masks and using hand sanitizer now.
  18. I met someone on the Vision in March who had COVID twice, and had a COR. But, in order to not second-guess what could/would happen at the pier, he went ahead and got all his vaccination shots and boosters, when eligible. He said it was so he could travel and not worry about being denied. I mean, who wants to argue the fine print and wordsmith the policy at the dock, thus delaying getting on the ship, or worse? I have a friend who gets sick for 3 days after ANY COVID shot: vaccines and boosters. It's like planned illness, but she does it, because the alternative is not satisfactory to her. She has an OCD disabled son, and doesn't want the grief. Rock and hard place.
  19. To obtain cash without a fee, transfer money to your room account from a slot machine. Cash out the ticket at the cashier's cage. If you don't gamble 10% of the room charge, your casino account will be frozen for 24 hours. I rarely gamble except for the free play money on day 1 or 2, so this isn't a hardship for me. I also do this to cash out obc, and then use that cash to give extra tips to the bar staff, room steward, and Concierge. I'm on a more limited budget than the posters above, plus I cruise solo. If the Concierge has done something special for me, $10 - $20 tip, depending on the length of the cruise. I give my room steward and dining staff extra tips, too: $10 - $20 each.
  20. They will want to look at the test results and vaccination card even if the data uploaded to the app during online check-in. It's all good.
  21. I was on the Navi in February, and then again the end of April. In the meantime masks became voluntary, and the Windjammer became self-serve. I knew no masks at the least would bring back respiratory infections. The ones we all used to get before COVID. I went home with an infection almost every cruise for years before COVID. But, the Windjammer self-serve is what really bothered me, because it's such a golden opportunity for Noro and respiratory illnesses, plus COVID. So, what I started doing was to use hand sanitizer again like I was back in 2020. When I sat down to eat, and when I went in my cabin. Like the OP, I wear masks all the time on ships unless I'm distanced from other people, eating, or drinking. I also wouldn't get on an elevator if it had more than 4 people on it already. It's not over until it's over, if ever. Noro will never be over.
  22. This isn't the first time I've read that the COVID quarantining is miserably mishandled. All this does is encourage people not to report their symptoms.
  23. My previous post is for you, also. Heartfelt and good wishes to you while you move on without her. Keep on keeping on. When my husband passed I contacted Special Needs by email, explained my situation, attached his DC, and asked for refunds. Then, I booked when I was ready. If you have over 340 C&A points, you are entitled to the DP340 discount for solos. So, if you change the booking, it might not be much more than you paid for 2 people.
