  1. I suggest a proctored antigen test by phone before you catch the red-eye. That way you are within the 1 day requirement, plus you don't have to get results after you've flown to Europe. You have them in 15 minutes, and stay home if you are positive.
  2. OP: does your husband have a cell phone, ipad, or laptop with him? If so, I suggest you download the Kindle app, and go to bookbub.com. It's a free subscription and catalog of ebooks in all formats. Prices are free-to-$2.99. Sign up for wifi for the rest of the cruise, and download some books to read in quarantine. I agree your husband should go with you to the quarantine hotel, since he's been exposed, but tested negative. He might have a problem with other hotels.
  3. Thank you for validating this. I was beaten about the virtual head and shoulders a few weeks ago about posting that RCCL had stopped testing between b2b cruises, and that I was propagating false info.
  4. I'm getting off the Navi tomorrow. Since February I've been on the Navi for 6 cruises, the Vision for 2, and the Jewel for 2. The food, health protocols, cleanliness, and crew were wonderful on all of them. With the exception of the cabin stewards I had last two Navi cruises. New crew members and hadn't really been trained yet. Very nice, but they were obviously new.
  5. I've used them 5 times for RCCL cruises. They always have me show the test results with the camera on my iphone switched to the back. Then, verbally confirm.
  6. With all due respect returned, like all of us here, I pass along my experience and opinion. No more; no less. I specifically asked if the testing on the Navi had stopped for new passengers coming on board, and was told "yes" by a staff member. Time will tell if this continues. What may be interpreted as "being upset" is me trying to clarify my statement. So, now I understand EVERYBODY can infect me: vaccinated and unvaccinated. Again, happy cruising everyone!!
  7. Ummmmm, OK. Just passing along what I was told after asking last night, using adjectives like "all" and "any", and specifying "pre-cruise" vs "b2b". I have no idea outside my Navi bubble.
  8. Maybe specific to the Navi here on the West Coast????
  9. I'm on my 4th of 4 cruises b2b on the Navigator. We no longer had to be tested for the 5/2 cruise. I was told by the ship staff I spoke with, that all pre-cruise testing was no longer required. This may be ship-specific, and not fleetwide.
  10. OK, clarification needed again: I'm talking about repiratory infections in general, and one of our group went home 2 days ago, tested negative for COVID, and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I also heard a LOT of similar coughing around the ship (like I used to when I would come home with an URI). So not interested in this debate any more. Time for the DL and dinner. Happy cruising.
  11. RCCL no longer requires testing. At least as of 5/2.
  12. Allergies, in No CA tend to be in the sinuses, with drier hacking coughs. What I am hearing over the last 10 days are more wet and "chesty" coughs. Just trying to be factual and help a little here................
  13. I'm like a walking, talking, typing guinea pig. I've been sailing from when testing was required, and masking, too; to no test and no masks. YMMV.
  14. My protocols are test before each cruise on my own, wear a mask in crowded areas, and try to stay off crowded elevators.
  15. We have a severe allergy season in No CA: this sounds different. Plus, I heard nothing in Feb and early Mar.
  16. OK, back to cruising. I have found that, yet again, people are now getting respiratory illnesses on cruise ships. I could tell from the start of coughing right after masks were optional, and now, several weeks later, I'm listening to more and more. Draw your own conclusions, and make your own decisions.
  17. I have been on the Navi b2b in Feb; Vision b2b in Mar, Jewel b2b in April; and Navi b2b2b2b Apr/May, getting off in 2 days. Yes, new crews on 2 of the ships. Food was great on all of them. I'm thinking the Explorer must have replaced a LOT of their kitchen staff at once.
  18. Because vaccinated people are asymptomatic, or have milder symptoms? I can see that.
