  1. Best to move the cruise to another one and pay the $100 change fee.
  2. Go to your Cruise Planner, look at All Dining, click on Izumi Sake and Sushi lunch, and then Reserve. It will give you the day(s) it's open for lunch, and you can reserve in advance. This way you know you can eat there, and not have to guess about it, or be disappointed.
  3. Two suggestions: If possible go early for breakfast and lunch, wherever you go. If you stay with MTD, you have more flexibility with the time you eat, BUT stick with the same time, table, and waiter. By the third night you can just go in and bypass the line. The podium manager at the entrance will help you.
  4. I meant this page to be a jumping off place that showed the different options. I never recommended it for booking. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. If I were writing a scientific dissertation, I would agree to exhaustive research. But, this is a travel board, and YMMV.
  5. I always get the same cabin for b2b cruises, and I tell the cabin attendant to not clean my room on turnaround day, but put extra towels in the bathroom. The room will be cleaned the evening of day 1, anyway. I use the turnaround day to just relax, unless the embarkation port is a must-see, and I want to get off. If I do this I find something to do that keeps me busy until at least 1pm in the afternoon. I make sure I'm reading a good book, because there is some wait time when you're doing the turnaround process on a b2b, and getting back on the ship. Then I get a snack if anything is open, and go to my cabin. The corridor doors to the cabins are not locked, and if asked, I say I'm b2b and going to my cabin. I will spend the rest of the morning relaxing, listening to music, reading, doing email. As soon as my account is closed from one cruise, it is reopened when I get back onboard, and I can get access to wifi again. Then, when I'm hungry again, I go out and have lunch. (Some people will substitute "pool deck" for "cabin").
  6. I usually book b2b cruises for the itinerary. I look for repositioning cruises, and then look at the one before and after. I like to cruise when the itinerary changes. The best I've done recently is the Vision b2b combining it's 11 and 10 night cruises for 3 weeks. I've also booked a transatlantic, and either taken the last cruise before the TA, or the first one after it.
  7. The price I found was based on a large group. For a smaller group, or 2 people, the bus or train is the lowest cost option. The prices have gone up significantly since I posted in April 2021. If you get a hotel near the Piazzale Roma, there is a transportation hub there. Here is a web site that gives transportation options: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Piazzale-Roma/Ravenna
  8. My philosophy is every dollar I can save is another dollar I can put toward the price of another cruise.
  9. The doors to the cabin corridors are not locked. You can go to your new cabin once back on the ship, and tell anyone who asks that your back-to-back and going to your cabin.
  10. One last suggestion: got to the Meet and Mingle thread for your cruise and see if anyone else is having this problem, and may have a solution.
  11. You have been hacked by your cell phone...........................
  12. I was referring to seeing the details in the app while onboard, and should have mentioned that. I throw the statements away when I get home, since I'm only interested in the total, and I keep track throughout the cruise.
  13. If you mean the number of drinks, it shows in the detail of your onboard account before it's close, with a zero charge. Usually shows up the next day. If you mean the actual drink order (e.g. Bahama Mama, etc.), I've never seen that. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. If I were writing a scientific dissertation, I would agree to exhaustive research. But, this is a travel board, and YMMV.
  14. Look at the calendar and see if MTD is showing up as an event every night. Also, I agree it might be closed as a pre-cruise purchase. You can call RCCL and ask about it, too, to see if they can. Look at the bottom of the purchase page for the Customer Service link. Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. 15. Holy WOW, you were on the Jewel for 18 YEARS???? I'm impressed.......😁 I know, I know, the H is just below the Y........ Disclaimer: My posts are opinions, experiences, and suggestions. 16. I found an annual policy was less expensive than separate trip policies if you are cruising multiple times in a year. However, I don't buy high value medical coverage. Be sure to check coverage provided by your credit card.
  17. I book on board with an appointment. The two I booked on the Navi and the Vision had my TA shown in the paperwork. I emailed them, and had their invoice emailed to me.

Loved the entire drive. The object being I am recommending a tour of the Amalfi coast, knowing that Sorrento is along the drive.
  19. My mistake. I thought Celebrity Elite Plus translated to D+ on RCCL. I would still recommend the "schedule" I posted. I have done laundry in a foreign country in a coin operated self-laundry, ending up with foreign coins I didn't need, and taking the time to do it all. But, if one chooses to do this, I recommend packing laundry sheets to avoid having to also buy detergent.
  20. I was on the Navigator in February, and almost every crew member I talked to had their contract expiring in 2 weeks. Every single one of them did NOT want to go home. When they started last October they hadn't worked in over a year, and they wanted those extensions to make up for lost wages. One crew member said RCCL was going to keep crew members whose flights could possibly be impacted with the Ukraine invasion, because so many European airlines were reworking their schedules. Many connections go through Europe. Each ship is different. The management has a lot to do with morale, not just the long hours, etc. The Vision crew in March were ecstatic to be back sailing again; very happy crew.
  21. Your first statement here: that's why the dear boy has been on my ignore list for years...... I have standard travel items I always take. I packed them into my single large suitcase and weighed the suitcase, subtracted from 50, and that's the weight of any clothes I take. I suggest one of you do a free bag of laundry (for the both of you) on day 2 on the Vision. Then, do another on day 6. Start the free laundry bag again on evening 1 on the Summit, and then another freebie mid-cruise. This should get you to where you only have to pay for 1 bag of laundry toward the end of the Summit cruise. I put anything knit in the bag, plus the usual undies, etc. It's the heavier fabrics, or clothes that need special handling I'd avoid. If you wear knit long shorts, they can go in the bag, too. Since you are traveling in hot weather, the thinnest undies you both can take, the more you can fit in the bag.
  22. You are married to a male clone of me..............................

I took this excursion in 2017, and it included Sorrento and Positano. Wonderful day! https://www.viator.com/tours/Naples/Daily-Pompeii-and-Amalfi-Coast-tour/d508-18971P1 I'm not one for quick driving from place-to-place; I like to see the scenery, and this tour hit all the right notes for us.
  24. I won't book guarantee cabins on b2b cruises, because once I'm unpacked I want to stay in one place. But, the OP's savings is significant. In this case I would pack accordingly: keep everything in packmates or containers, so it's easy to pack for the switch. But, that's me: I am not a minimalist packer.

It's not Sorrento that's so fabulous, it's the drive there. Most tours include Positano and other stops along the way aong the Amalfi Coast.
