  1. Totally agree. This is such a great part of sailing on Regent. The laundry service is fantastic. Wish my clothes looked like that after washing at home!
  2. Referring to another thread on this board, ducks are not included. And, hopefully, never will be.
  3. If I may add, generally the option for transport to the airport including some form of an excursion is only available after you are onboard. Check with Destination Services if you are interested.
  4. Even if Regent proceeds with this cruise, there may not be much to look forward to. We were on the ill fated Navigator cruise Istanbul to Dubai in November. After canceling Aqaba (Petra) and the three ports in Oman, we wound up with two days in Luxor plus the Suez transit in the final ten days. While Luxor was incredible, it did not make up for all the other ports we missed. Eight out of ten sea days on the Navigator are ALOT! At least we had three days in Dubai after we got off.
  5. It appears that LF doesn’t use this system. Just seems that if Amazon, UPS, FedEx and others can tell you exactly where everything is and when you’ll get it, LF should be able to as well. I’ve never had a problem schlepping my luggage to a cruise and I’m nearing 80. And the luggage technology is improving all the time; lighter, better wheels, etc. I understand others need a service like LF for various reasons, but they just don’t seem like the reliable answer to the issue. But that’s just me.
  6. I’d rather use Air Tags than LF. But that’s just me.
  7. Usually just a couple of beers and sodas in the mini fridge. You can request a bottle of any liquor be in your cabin.
  8. It depends. In April, on Explorer, we left from the Tokyo cruise port and returned to the Yokohama cruise port. Suggest Regent is your best source of information. They may not even know yet. I would think your easiest transport would be with a hired car. When we disembarked at Yokohama it was a very slow process but there were a lot of hired cars waiting. Taking a bus to Haneda would be a huge hassle and a stressful experience.
  9. Insurance on Sapphire is up to the amount you put on the card. We cover some or all of the amount above $20,000 with another travel insurance policy or self insure. Sometimes just for medical evacuation.
  10. How would you like to be on a world cruise without your luggage? Begin the thread below at post # 5: Between this experience and that of shark b8, I'll pass on LF.
  11. Suggest you add your request to the roll call for your cruise.
  12. Every time I think about going to the fitness center, I sit down, often with a drink. Usually, the thought soon passes.
  13. We have found that booking a specialty restaurant the night of embarkation works well. Easier to get the time we desire and leaves the rest of the cruise available for a return dinner, if available. Also, agreeing to share always makes it easier to get the night you want. Plus you usually meet some great people!
  14. We do miss Terry. Best. Lecturer. Ever.
  15. I may be mistaken (as my wife says, it wouldn’t be the first time) but I believe RSSC.com only shows a max of six cabins per category.
  16. Our experience as well on all Regent ships including Navigator in November. Also has always applied to La Veranda if memory serves correctly.
  17. In my judgment, people who judge people that are judgmental are being judgmental.
  18. We had two tours booked for a port in Oman recently. Then Regent cancelled all three ports in Oman! 🙁
  19. We too disembarked Navigator December 1st. We also sailed on Explorer in April. Our experience on Navigator was completely colored by the horrible way corporate (read ADM) responded (or not) to the wholesale port cancellations and itinerary revisions we were forced to endure. I agree with the many guests that believe Regent has lost their customer focus and perhaps many previously loyal customers. For us the service onboard was outstanding, with few, if any, misses. The staff bent over backwards to serve our every desire. As good as any we have experienced on eleven Regent cruises. The food had some serious misses, especially with inedible beef on multiple occasions (could not be cut with a steak knife) and a similarly tough duck magret. These issues were addressed with the GM, head of restaurants and the head chef. Otherwise, we enjoyed our food and twice did special order dinners (dishes we love from Pacific Rim and Chartreuse on the Explorer) that were fabulous. So, a mixed bag. We did not book a future cruise with our fcc yet, not sure if we will.
  20. This has always been our experience. If you say 6:30, they will ring your bell at 6:30, maybe even a minute or two earlier. Be sure you are dressed!
  21. Just got off Navigator 12/1. Room service begins at 6 am. Used it several times. La Veranda opens at 6:30 if I recall correctly, never got there that early.
  22. Recently did KSA-018, Ephesus with Less Walking as I have some mobility issues as well. I could handle the walking involved, the monsoon we encountered not so much!
