  1. 😁 Yup. Carried one up and down many mountains when I was the age of the Wandering Aussie.
  2. Yikes! Is that the upload speed? I believe the FCC here in the U.S. defined broadband as 25 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up.
  3. Maybe, but certainly no where near all. Besides, even though our state has one, I can attest that the record is inaccurate. Therefore, SS can’t demand one.
  4. Probably because most countries, including the United States, don’t have an official printed record.
  5. Why? Because your requests aren’t a confirmed reservation until on board. You will receive your confirmation in your suite. Like JP said, your requests will usually work out. Sometimes they don't. When that has happened to us and we didn’t like what had been confirmed, we just work with our butler and Maitre d’ of the ship to make changes accordingly.
  6. Of course, Saminina. Hence why the suggestion was made. The pre-schooler doesn’t “have” to hike, but rather, gets to be “carried” on the hike. Greatest backpack ever made for active young parents. Now, what helpful advice do you have to offer our new forum participant for their first ever cruise on Silversea?
  7. Easy. Sure. Lots of folks have. Because it’s not a reservation system, but a request system. No dining venue booked online is guaranteed, neither date, nor time.
  8. Welcome to the SS forum. I’d recommend getting yourself one of these phenomenal child carrier backpacks. This way your kid can do any hike. And, Alaska has great hikes at every port. Be sure to hike the Chilkoot Pass trail. A truly historic hike.
  9. Is this how JP is able to travel 1/2 way around the world with only a carry-on piece of luggage? Of course, I know he sneaks a backpack too. 😁
  10. No, it applies to all fares, including moving from D2D to P2P if one so chooses.
  11. Just wanted to take a moment and encourage folks here to review the prices of their bookings from time-to-time. With the current promotional period end date today, I took a peek at the voyages I have booked and found a 2024 voyage I had booked exactly one year ago today in 2022 has decreased in price by 11%. So, I filed my claim and received an updated booking confirmation today at the lower price. The only thing I'm waiting on now is how SS plans to handle the refund.
  12. For years, going back well before Covid, 7-night Caribbean voyages have been formal optional in any dining venue.
  13. Same here. But, don’t tell anyone. That’s what I do. Well, not the dancing part, of course. 😁
  14. What did folks on the 2023 WC get, besides the lack of decent internet?
  15. Then don’t. Nobody on SS will force you to eat a large dinner. I’ve sailed with lots of people who eat their large meal for lunch, or even breakfast, and just have a salad or soup for dinner. I even know one fella who only has dessert for dinner. 🥧🍰🍪
  16. Yes, a caveat. And yet, it has never been an issue for us.
  17. She sure would look good in your frying pan, JP.
  18. Yes, indeed, but with an “E” rather than an “A”, unless of course JP is announcing his arrival on board the ship. 😉
  19. JP likes it when the French correct his pronunciation. 😉
  20. Or SS’s marketing dept. doesn’t understand the definition of nominal. 😁
  21. I’m awaiting the forum’s resident foodie to weigh-in on the matter. 🥩
