  1. No, I cannot. It seems many people here and over on Voldemort have had great success contacting the Chief Commercial Officer about trivial items. So, maybe you could do the same and report back here?
  2. Probably because it’s not a shore side decision, but rather a ship decision. And, since nearly all Hotel Directors and Cruise Directors are not full time employees, but rather contracted employees, those decisions tend not to be made until closer to the actual sail date. This is why night #2 is not always a formal night, even though the majority of time it is. I’m not saying the process at present is right, but merely the way that it is.
  3. 7:00p, regardless of whether at sea or in port. Of course. Either upon arrival for dinner, or a day or two prior to your confirmed reservation by speaking with the venue manager.
  4. Very valuable. Almost as good as cash and not hard to use. Maybe you’ll find that since you have OBC you’ll order extras in order to use your OBC. And, no, you cannot use them in the casino. However, many do use them in the shops on board.
  5. You don’t pay until after the meal, and it goes to your onboard account, so it’ll be covered by your OBC.
  6. Thank you, Mysty. That’s what the Gastroenterologist told me this week. I was so proud. 😉
  7. If SS didn’t contract with airlines who had filed for bankruptcy at one time or another, Americans might have a hard time getting overseas to sail. - United, 2002 - Delta, 2005 - American, 2011
  8. You can only imagine how annoyed they must be with me since my wife and daughter travel up front too. Poor folks.
  9. As someone with 10+MM Bonvoy (i.e. Marriott Rewards) points, I’m curious why this would bother you? There are plenty of people sailing for free on SS at any given time using their loyalty rewards. So, why would it bother you on Ritz, but not SS?
  10. The part of the interview that surprised me was that he didn’t seem to know SS is already sailing in China since he referred to a return to China by their brands in late ‘23, or even ‘24, a couple of times.
  11. Thx. Should be an easy interview as Kelly Evans lobs nothing but softballs.
  12. Sorry. I confused myself. It’s the Moon down in SA, not Dawn.
  13. Thanks for the context. Yes, upgraded suites is another way SS can honor their fare guarantee without offering a refund, or paying OBC, according to their T&C’s. Obviously, upgrading the suite doesn’t cost SS a dime, especially on a voyage that didn’t sell well.
  14. Probably a stupid question, but I love learning from others, so why did you take OBC rather than the $3,000 lower price since SS has a Fare Guarantee program? I realize SS doesn’t make it easy as it’s up to the passenger to notify SS of the reduced fare and file a claim prior to sailing. But, IMHO, I’d much rather have the cash to do with as I please versus an OBC that has to be used on board and only during the voyage.
  15. JJ? You mean ChrisM? ChrisM is the only CCer on the ship at present that I know of and there hasn’t been a single post since embarkation day. I believe the Dawn was in Ushuaia today.

    OBC

Correct. The benefits have always been listed on our invoice.
  17. Agree with the other replies. You'll feel right at home.
  18. My quick answer is yes. But, so that we’re all clear, how do you define “every day person”?
