  1. I will be sailing next month. I’m a teacher so that’s when I can travel.
  2. We just booked a deluxe suite for next month. This sounds wonderful! What is the elevator over-ride? How do they do the muster drill? The muster drill on Celebrity was super easy. I didn't see anything about gratuities while booking. Are they included or will we be billed for them? How early can we embark?
  3. It’s 7 night and my husband has a specific week in mind that works well around his work schedule. Good to know about the island. What do you like so much about it? The beach is my happy place! 🙂
  4. I saw that but was hoping there would be an update. Guess not and we should buy insurance.
  5. Thinking of booking a cruise for next month. What is the MSC policy if we were to get covid and not be able to sail? Would we need insurance to get a refund?
  6. We’d be booking an interior room in the Havana area. We are also considering MSC yacht club deluxe balcony, which is obviously more but less than the Havana Cabana.
  7. I read him your response. He wants to know if you took her to Europe the following summer too. Lol Please say yes!!
  8. We’re thinking of cruising with MSC for the first time. We would book a deluxe balcony YC on the Seaside. What would be the major differences between them and the major cruise lines? Who would they compare most to? How is the entertainment? What’s their private island like? Is there anything to do besides relax in the beach? I would love that but my husband isn’t thrilled about 3 beach days. (Two there and one in Costa Maya)
  9. Yes. After further searching, we have eliminated both Celebrity and Royal and are looking at either Carnival Horizon with a Havana room or the MSC Seaside in the YC. MSC is over the budget we set, and we like the Carnival itinerary better. However, I think the YC experience would be worth the extra money.
  10. We are looking at a deluxe balcony YC on the Seaside. Do you know how it compares to the Seashore?
  11. This was what I was thinking. I keep hearing this! We missed the comedy shows as well. They were the best part of sailing Carnival! Well that, and those delicious chocolate dessert the tempt you with! Glad to hear you like the shop we’re looking at. The newest Carnival ship we’ve been on was the Dream. We actually missed their comedy shows and chocolate dessert. Agreed and Carnival wins both here. I never had an issue with Carnivals food. I’m not into the fancy stuff, with extra calories, just bring me protein and veggies and let me get back to having fun. Not a foodie, so this isn’t a big factor to me. I should have worded that differently. I’ve heard their new ships are nicer with much better decor.
  12. I had never considered MSC until a friend of mine mentioned them. I just never think of them. I was super excited after watching videos of their yacht club, but my husband is being pretty strict about our budget. I understand why. We have a 30th anniversary Mediterranean cruise planned for next summer with Celebrity. It’s our first suite with them and we were planning on a couple days before in Barcelona and several days on land after to explore Italy. So a huge budget and we weren’t planning on any cruises this summer so we could apply the savings to that. Then I said, how about a cheap cruise this summer while we’re already in Florida visiting your brother and now here we are…lol Have you sailed MSC? It’s an 8 day cruise. We love the itinerary because it has 3 ports we’ve never been to. I’m a teacher so cruising while school is out is my only option. I’m familiar with the rowdy groups on Carnival. We’re hoping to avoid them in the Havana area. I was on Celebrity in December and the food wasn’t as good as our previous cruise. I never had any issues with Carnivals food. I eat pretty simple and clean, protein and veggies so I’m easy to please. We enjoyed all our Carnival cruises, not knowing what we were missing until venturing out to other lines. With that said, I wouldn’t expect it to live up to our Celebrity or Royal experiences, but would we still enjoy ourselves? Probably.
  13. Havana sounds lovely. I see you have some MSC cruises coming up. After posting this a friend mentioned them so I went the their website and found their yacht club is surprisingly affordable, yet a couple thousand over the budget my husband set. Would you say it’s much better than the Havana experience? I really hate the thought of getting into our budget for next summers trip to Europe, which is the top of my bucket list.
  14. Yes, both ends of the spectrum but we are looking at a specific week next month so options are limited. Surprisingly, we are comparing a Carnival Havana interior verses MSC yacht club balcony. Obviously, the MSC option is more but not as much as I would have guessed. We’ve never sailed MSC before.
  15. We're now looking at a MSC cruise. We haven't sailed in a suite with Celebrity yet, but have one booked. I'm trying to convince my husband to try the MSC yacht club.
  16. Now were also looking at MSC yacht club. This is what I want, trying to convince the hubby.
  17. The Carnival itinerary wins because it has three ports we've never been to! I wouldn't expect Celebrity service. We would be booking a Havana cabin and would like to try that area to see if it's really less crowded than main pool decks on most ships. We don't gamble, so that would only be an issue walking through. We would be booking a Havana cabin and I've heard that area isn't normally crowded. That's one of the reasons it is appealing. Enjoy!!
  18. When we first started cruising we always sailed Carnival. Then we tried a few other lines and found we liked them a bit better. We haven’t sailed with Carnival for about 5 years now. We weren’t planning on cruising this year because we’re saving up for a big 30th anniversary cruise next summer with Celebrity in Spain, France and Italy. We are thinking about booking a last minute cruise for next month and considering price and itinerary we like the Carnival option the best. Celebrity pricing is crazy right now for the end of June! I’ve heard they have stepped up their game. We’re looking at the Horizon. Have any of you went back to Carnival after sailing Celebrity and/or Royal and liked it?
  19. We haven’t sailed with Carnival for about 5 years now. We’ve found we liked NCL, Royal and Celebrity better. We are thinking about booking a last minute cruise for next month and for price and itinerary we like Carnival. I’ve heard they have stepped up their game. We’re looking at the Horizon. Is that a nice ship?
  20. Thank you! I think we may give Carnival another chance. We have sailed with them since 2017, I believe.
