  1. When I ordered filet and lobster in Blu last month I was told they could only bring me one of them at a time and asked which I wanted first.
  2. Do most people climb the tower? I was just planning on getting pics outside. Our tour company said if we want to go inside anything there we have to buy the tickets. Are there any tickets we should purchase?
  3. That would have been nice if we were on the same cruise! I'm looking at a Celebrity excursion, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. It starts in a coach, then a private boat cruise, followed by a walk around town with a guide and lunch. It sounds absolutely lovely to me and we have a lot of OBC to use. https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/cruise-planner/category/pt_shoreX/product/NPI6?bookingId=8875111&shipCode=EQ&sailDate=20240613
  4. I am taking notes and will look into all your suggestions. Thanks!
  5. Thank you! While I think Pompeii would be cool to see, we are doing so much history stuff on this trip that I'm thinking of something totally different here, like the Amalfi Coast.
  6. We decided to do the wine tour day 1 in Florence. We are hiring Rome In Limo to take us to Pisa, Lucca and a Winery. We will go to Florence day 2, or vise versa. I greatly appreciate all the help everyone has provided!
  7. The food and wine tour starts at 6:30, it's tapas. https://spanish-trails.com/tours/tasting-barcelona-food-wine-tour/ I will mostly likely be too tired Wednesday after an 8 hour tour to do it. We will probably take a nap and go out for a late dinner or just grab a snack and go to bed early. Besides, after sitting on a plane all day, it will feel good to walk around a bit and let someone show us around and enjoy some local food and wine. I don't want to walk around Las Ramblas by ourselves. I've read too many stories about robberies and pickpockets. If we're up to it, we could always see something before we get on the ship Thursday, although I'm always excited to get onboard. I believe we're seeing one of Gaudi's houses on the tour. We could possibly do the museum Tuesday or Thursday, depending on location. I have no idea where any of this is in relation to Hotel Jazz, although I could use maps to find out.
  8. I really like this one. It looks like we could get everything in in one day. So fly in on on Tuesday, do this full day tour Wednesday, cruise begins Thursday. https://spanish-trails.com/tours/barcelona-city-tours-bcn-small-group-explorer-8-hour/ Depending on what time our flight is, we may have time to do the evening food and wine tour Tuesday evening. If not, we could play it by ear once we arrive. It will be a long flight! I think we're going to stay at the Hotel Jazz.
  9. Do you recall which tour(s) you did? Is the Old Quarter the same thing as the Gothic Quarter?
  10. Oops! I wish. We actually paid $10,500. I don’t know why I thought it was $8,500. I always have to cruise during peak season when things are expensive. It would have been nearly $15,000 if we would have went with the new ships, I think it was the Beyond.
  11. In my opinion no, but I didn’t care for the wines in the premium package either.
  12. I’d take a partial view veranda over an inside any day! No idea why they would so that. I wonder if it’s another pricing mistake.
  13. We’re going to Fattoria al Dotto. I chose it myself based on Trip Advisor photos and reviews. I’m sure we will go to Florence day 2, haven’t decided how yet. I don’t think we’re going to stay in Florence. We will only be an hour from the port before we head back. We booked a suite on the cruise so it seems crazy not to take advantage of those suite amenities with us being that close to the ship. I’m super excited about this excursion! Not super excited to go back to work tomorrow after more than 2 weeks off though. 🤪
  14. Depends on when you sail and which ship too. We paid $8,500 for 9 nights in a SSS on the Equinox, for June 2024.
  15. I just looked online and it shows a beverage package and Wi-Fi for me, but not my husband. Is yours the same?
  16. Thanks for all your inputs! We are going with Rome in Limo for day 1. They will pick us up at the port and take us to Pisa, Lucca and a winery. It’s expensive, 750 euros, so we may not spend the night in Florence. We also splurged on a suite, which is another reason to return to the ship. However, if someone from our roll call decides to join us, which would help with the cost, we may change our minds again.
  17. They got back to me and suggested their Pisa and Lucca tour, with a winery visit. I replied asking if I could visit a specific winery. It’s a bit of a splurge, unless someone from our roll call will join us, but that’s ok. I’ve always wanted to visit a winery in Italy and this tour looks perfect! Thanks again!!
  18. I prefer the idea of a private tour with her for my husband and I, rather than a large group. You are the second person to recommend her in here. I will check them out. So you book them ahead?
  19. No, not what I had in mind. How long would it take to see SF and PG? SF has guided tours? I will check their website again to look for a tour of the Gothic Quarter. I’m thinking one full day pre cruise will be sufficient, plus the day we fly in.
  20. Does this tour look ok? https://www.spaindaytours.com/barcelona-tours/barcelona-city-tour/
