  1. On 5/14 sailing Seaside per MSC app shown as Punta Langosta but we ended up with International Pier because NCL Escape docked there. We like Punta Langosta better because it is near downtown with more options to see and do. Nobody is sure regarding which pier MSC would dock. In the past most RCI ships dock at International Pier and non RCI ships would dock at Punta Langosta but it seems lately most MSC ships dock at International Pier if no RCI ship(s) in port. Just have to wait until the last minute....
  2. Keep in mind. Flam train ride up to Myrdal on your own (much cheaper than ship tour) the ticket must purchase FAR IN ADVANCE because anytime there is a ship in port all good departure times ALWAYS SOLD OUT (cruise line reserved them all).
  3. MSC ships would dock either International Pier or Punta Langosta Pier. In May Seaside was shown as Punta Langosta Pier (across the street from Mega store (new name is Soriana) but we ended up with the International Pier. Both of those piers are not a mall like in which you either walk through or by to get a cab. In the past we thought International is for Royal Caribbean ships only but lately most MSC ships were docked there too. We like Punta Langosta Pier better because it is closer to town.
  4. My thought. Do not let one thing to ruin your cruise because an overcharge laundry and deal with it once return. MSC is strange in some way to deal with people. Enjoy the cruise.
  5. Enjoyed your review very much. We were on 5/14 sailing (ours 3rd MSC) and also were on Mardi Gras, we believe with the current price/experience we will keep on cruising with MSC and will be on Seaside again later this summer.
  6. Enjoyed your review. We had been on MSC in the Caribbean only and will need to check out the Europe/Mediterranean. The picture of dinner, is it from the MDR or a specialty restaurant?. Look good (yum). Over 50+ we had a T-bone steak dinner once on Carnival (many years ago). We like MSC and their food ok. Is MDR menu in Europe the same as USA sailing?. How did you get to port?. Does MSC has a transfer service?.
  7. We got a print out before leaving the ship and was OK with all the charges. Per on line statement there is charge on the last day before leaving the ship (pending as this state) and we did not know what it is for or about. It appears most people got this too. We will need to call MSC too.
  8. We wrote down Yes (1st column - left) and No (2nd column - right). It worked out for us on 5/14 sailing.
  9. MSC pin as VC gift. It is very small.
  10. We got a 5.15 dining time in Ipanema the bowling was very noisy until around after 6.30 just about every night.
  11. Once you are upstairs just let them know you are Aurea/Diamond. On our sailing the line was on the right otherwise they would point you the general line. With a general line after checking they will assign you a group #. With Aurea/Diamond after checking told us to board with the calling group at that moment.
  12. We had one of that letter too. We watched the video and called 881 TWICE then walked down to the said station to got our cruise cards scanned. We went to Guest Services (no body answered the phone) the person at the desk did not want to believe us. Their IT will need to fix the issues.
  13. On 5/14 - 5/21 Seaside We got the champagne/macaroons on day 2 and did not get the chocolate gifts nor VC gifts until we asked the Guest Relations on the last night before depart and received the chocolate bars (2) and 2 MSC pins after 7PM (Saturday night). On Meraviglia in Dec 2022, we had to ask for those too and received 6 Venchi chocolate candies in place of the gifts. If MSC does not want to carry through with these benefits they should stop to list them out all together.
  14. Seaside has a very good soft serve ice cream and it is available embarkation day and on sea days only at Biscayne buffet. On our 5/14 sailing one of the sea day they said no ice cream but on the last sea day it was there again (?) Also on last sea day they put out some Venchi chocolate candies (so good).
  15. Seaside has SMART elevators just tell the screen the floor you would need to go and it would tell which elevator and time it should be arriving there is no floor button INSIDE the elevator.
  16. Soft serve ice cream is available on embarkation day and on every sea day on deck 16 buffet on the children side near all the sweet (right side). This ice cream was very smooth and had good flavor. Deck 8 (main buffet) has hand scooped ice cream everyday from 4-5.
  17. On Seaside 5/14 thru 5/21 they did not provide the Facecloths/Flannels or washcloths (US be known as) on boarding day but we ASKED our cabin attendant for them and received them just about everyday and if we did not see them just asked him again. On our last December on Meraviglia they provided us some everyday WITHOUT asking. We don't believe it is Bella or Fantastica just the cabin attendant way.
  18. No. Not yet our sailing will be in a few weeks.
  19. On our December 2022 sailing (7 days). As you walking away from the Marketplace toward the pool outside on the right there was a soft serve ice cream place, the ice cream had good flavor and very smooth and free too. On our sailing it was available for 2 days then it broke down and the rest of the days only served hand scoop ice cream.
  20. MSC USA still shows as a Norway cruise. We also are looking at June 15, 2024 sailing and would hate if that sailing won't go to Norway fjords.
  21. Our local Expedia owner is on your sailing. She told us that MSC invited Expedia group to sail as a working cruise so Expedia can show MSC a few things (do not know the number). MSC Seaside must set aside those specialty restaurants for them as a treat. Hope they can work you in those specialty restaurants. We will be on Seaside very soon. Can't wait.
  22. Thank you for the above posting it is very helpful. We will be on Seaside very soon can't wait.
