I agree fully Josy ,over the last few months we have had several young women, throwing themselves off off one of our local motorway bridges ,for reasons that we will never know, some leaving children now without a mum ,so very sad . Chances are these were the quiet ones too proud to make a fuss or seek help. Growing up I'm pleased to say we never knew what a food bank was . As your Mum would say ... "There but for the grace if God go I"

Regarding mobile phones ,there are nurses out there who are using food banks and mobile phones . Also people who may have lost there job, like in the hospitality industry (through no fault of their own ) and need a phone to get apply for other jobs . I am just grateful that we do not find ourselves in that situation and have people like Josy and Phil to help these people out ,even if a selfish one comes along now and again .

Glad you got booked and would like to point out for the benefit of others, that have a carer of someone who looks after a person over 65, then they too are eligible for the jab as well .(Would need to be on carers allowance )

Yep from abyegon era, some would only have them as a starter before the meal. Nowadays with most things chicken to a pan of stew. We even have them with Christmas lunch which never happened when I was growing up.

Talking of post boxes, today in a village not too far away from us

The retirement that goes with it isn't very good either as we have just seen . Now begins the changes, stamps coins ,post boxes and things like police helmets will move from ER to CR. Then there is the royal musical chairs as they move up a rank so to speak .Kate now becomes Princess of wales, who we all think of as Diana but really was Camilla who never took the title out of respect for Diana . The only thing I can think of that will not have to change is the prison service HMP. We are all going through some changes really .

We did a 5 day cruise which never got in to any port but we had a great time , these things can happen .

As Pete said fake ! Have you tried going into your phones settings and search find .. Do Not Disturb . I have mine set 11pm to 7am also to allow texts and calls from which number to exclude. At least you would get a good nights kip without worrying have I put my phone on silent for the night or remembering to take it off again .

Good question . With my main bank account I have a cheque book which I have never used in years as thanks to the internet and my trusty bank card and a few standing orders ,I have had no need for it. A lot of the big banks I have just read stopped issuing cheque books automatically and the options are call in to a branch to request one ,or get one if you have online banking set up. Even though I do not use online banking with the main account it seems I have in a way ,very rare do I use cash these days . I'm off to the chippy soon to pick up our tea , already paid for online just walk in and collect . Hope you get to the bank and get your cheque book or at least make contact with them.
