  1. One of my favorite ships! It has a Venetian decor, really pretty. I have pictures below from our June cruise.

One thing that a lot of people don't know is that you can shower in the spa...no cost. Just give them your sign & sail card and they will give you a locker key. The showers are roomier than your cabin shower and the towels are usually bigger. This actually true on all ships, all lines.

Try the tomato soup on brunch day. Ask if Savio is still working in the dining room and if so, ask for him. (this is in the YTD room) and be sure to try the Fish and Chips upstairs in the buffet.

Enjoy the ship, it's beautiful and tell Corey, Terre said hello.

  2. Agree...we sailed Princess on our Alaska cruise a few years ago and loved it. We were on the Golden Princess. Anyway we went the first week of June and had perfect weather. I would love to go again, it's a place you shouldn't miss. Princess is a very good line and you will like it as much as Carnival.

  3. I actually love all three of those songs...gets me in the cruising mood! Personally, I wish they would stop making the waiters do any kind of entertainment in the dining room during service...

I wish they would bring back live steel drum bands like we had in the '90s instead of the canned music they're going to. That really made you feel like you were on a cruise!

  4. We've always had a hair dryer on the Liberty, but not the Fantasy ...been so long since we've were on the Destiny, Triumph and Paradise I don't remember. But, I always take my own because the ones in the cabin aren't that great (and it's never been confiscated in 23 years and 28 cruises). Shampoo is okay, I can live with it, but if you have a special shampoo that you really like and is good for your hair, bring it.

  5. We walked by once and saw this fellow hopping along and did a double take until I looked again and realized what was happening.

Still think it is an awful place to put the band.

I totally agree. They need to be in a lounge where people can sit and really enjoy them. We stood in the bar area for what seemed like an hour one night. The next night we got seats there kinda of behind them and that wasn't good either. Still loved them, great band.

  6. I can see males doing this, but not females. I have learned over the years to get all my clothes in my carry-on because I only two pairs of pants with two different tops each, one formal outfit for both nights, and shoes that can go with both outfits. I have to take a different pair for my formal clothes. I can get my makeup in the carry-on and all my chargers.

My jewelry & camera go in my purse. Same with DH, but then we've got all the toiletries, which are mostly sample size, brushes, hairdryer, pool bag and his suit have to go in the larger suitcase so there's no way around it for us.

  7. The Wifey, Son, Mother In Law, and Myself are booked on the Ecstasy in a few weeks, and we normally take Early Dining. Our stop in Cozumel, though is a later one, we arrive at 1:30, depart at like 10... however my question is around dining times. How late can we arrive to the MDR and still be seated, if we take the Early Dining option?

This is the reason we book Your Time Dining. We don't want to rush back to get ready for a 6:00 dinner. I am one of those "if you're not 10 minutes early, you're late" people so the YTD works well for us.

I agree with others that coming in late does mess up the waiters as they are on a time schedule. Also, and this is just my opinion, it's inconsiderate to the waiters and others who are at your table, and personally, I think 15 minutes is too late to come in. The waiters try to wait for everyone to be seated at the table before taking orders so if someone is late, it actually puts everyone else at the table behind and late for any entertainment they wanted to get to.

If your table is just your group, then it's probably no problem.

  8. Didnt get name but a phillipino bunch of guys who have been there for awhile. Unfortunately they stick them right by casino in a loud and smoky area with no eroom to sit or dance.

That's Music Broadway. I loved those guys, especially the one who dances around and makes funny faces. I could sit and listen to them all night.

  9. Thanks for your opinions. I love the Liberty and always like to see others' opinions and feedback. Cory is a really good CD. He was great at helping us get our Roll Call M&G set up and going, even stopped in to meet us.

  10. I have motion sickness pretty bad and as you can see, I'm addicted to cruising. I chew a Bonine before getting on the airplane because it helps me with the ascent and descent. That one gets me through the day on the ship. I'm okay after that on the ship, but if we are doing a water excursion, I'll chew one before breakfast and I'm good for the water excursion.

Bonine can be found at Walmart and Costco pharmacies, no prescription needed. I tried the patch once, but it made my vision blurry. I cut one in half and my vision wasn't blurry, but it really didn't help the motion sickness much.

  11. The Liberty had table clothes in January and this past May. I hope they don't take them away completely. It makes a nicer dining experience in my opinion, and as others have posted, wiping down the tables with the same nasty cloth is not sanitary...

  12. Note of embarrassment! I set down in the lido buffet to eat with my family and the chair fell backwards with me in it! I hit my head on the floor but it was carpet so no damage done. I'm not sure how it happened but from then on I sat on the benches instead of the chairs. The Carnival crew were VERY quick to respond and urged me to go to medical but I felt fine so I declined the offer. The supervisor came and did a report anyway. LOL!! Sorry, these things make me laugh and I had a great visual.

PET PEEVE RANT---Ladies, yes, you have an awesome body but wearing a dress that is 3 sizes too small that you must keep pulling down and up only makes you look fat even if you aren't! I don't know why this style is so popular but it is awful, very much like a 'streetwalker'. And please, if you are over 35, wear something more age appropriate than a tight mini skirt! RANT OVER Amen! Preach it!

You make me laugh! My comments are in red above...keep it coming.
