  1. It was light and airy, though the sauce was a bit watery to my taste. We didn’t go there for the food — we went for the location…. and people watching… the essence of the first night in Europe after 3 long years.

  3. You're cutting it close by flying in one day before the cruise ... Take the Sunday morning flight, so it will give you some leeway if your flight is cancelled, mechanical problems, crew overtime, you name it. Yes, there is the option to test at FCO, but my understanding it is that they give priority to those departing. If you can do the proctored test in UK במוצאי שבת it will be best for you all. Also, I have 2 pharmacies opened on Sunday near Piazza Navona, one until 6PM, the other until 7PM.
  4. I don't know with which cruise line you're sailing. With Celebrity the "Embarkation Day" doesn't count. So for a Monday embarkation, you can test either Saturday or Sunday ("within 2 days of sailing").
  5. It is supposed to be a fixed charge -- 22 Euro pp.
  6. G&P, enjoy your new car. Renault Megan was our first hand car.... We enjoyed visiting different car sellers and trying their cars. The moment I sat in the Megan, I was hooked. Very comfy, and such French chic... We had it until a careless driver, texting while driving, crossed the line and hit our Megan. Our youngest was driving, and, being a security man with some preventive training, he managed to dodge the direct hit, but still found himself upside down in a ditch... Luckily, just cast on his leg for 2 months. The car withstood the hit very well, but the insurance still declared it a total loss!!! We also rented a Renault Kadjar in our last trip to Italy before Covid, based on the "experience" with the above accident. Safe travels 😘
  7. Our eldest grandson was also allergic to dairy and eggs in early days. He indeed grow out of them. But now turns out he's allergic to pecan, pistachio and walnuts, but not to peanuts... That's exactly what I was thinking.... I don't remember in my childhood any allergies whatsoever....
  8. After I finished reading A Time to Kill, I told DH: "You absolutely have to read this book" [the problem is, he's only reading in Hebrew, and not every author/book are translated]. I told him in general lines the story, and he goes: "Oh, I've seen the movie".... Well, he's more into movies, and I'm a more [as in a lot more] books....😉 How is your son feeling?
  9. Thank you, Marietta. What's the name of the new book? Long time ago I've made a note of your recommendations, and, for the last week, I've binged on A Time to Kill, and the Whistler and the Judge's list. I've saved them for a week when I want the time to fly by, Saturday cannot get here soon enough.... We're in total lockdown until the Covid test, and, if negative, the flight to Rome ....
  10. We rented a car right at the pier [booked ahead], and toured "outside" of Corfu Town. It was very easy. Then we came back to Corfu Town, paid for parking, toured a little, and then returned the car at the pier. Royalcarsrental dot gr
  11. Boarding, like you, next Monday (Beyond). Many pharmacies are offering antigen testing in Rome. Here are 2 of them, no need to reserve ahead, - Farmacia Argentina (Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 36) - Antica Farmacia del Corso (Via del Corso, 242) And if you're near the Pantheon, like us, I can add two others.
  12. She is a majestic beauty, this one 😍 When we've been thinking of "adopting" a cat, that's the "model" which was recommended to us, living in a flat and not be home long hours...
  13. Did you happen to note if there is a tennis table on the ship?
  14. We've also used this company and were very satisfied with the service, as well as the rates 😁
  15. Oh, Marietta, I was just thinking about your daughter and her kids, and now this. It really is too much in such a short time. 🤞 for you son, that the IV will work its magic.
  16. YES. And it seems he likes Gary very much and is comfortable inside his sweater 😉 DH spotted him first... and jokingly suggested a match between him and Bug Naked 🤪
  17. @h20skibum Mark, So glad you're feeling better (and your son is Covid-free). Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Susan, and a lovely celebration today 💐 @aussielozzie18 Aussie, Wishing you a swift and complete recovery from your future hand surgery
  18. Melting the chocolate well is, IMHO, the key to success 😁 Many recipes call for melting in the microwave. Tried, don't like the melted texture. I have a Corning sauce pan, and I'm melting the chocolate in it, very low temperature. Bain-marie is too cumbersome for me.
