  1. @sgmn Sue & Gary, Graham & Pauline, from the comfort of our AC (38C outside), pls. keep cool, thinking of you on those hot hot times 😘
  2. Thanks, M. A bit better by the days, but still coughing, mainly at night, which takes from me a lot of energy.
  3. Marietta, if you want to give me your #phone (and if you don't have Whatsapp, I can't send you an invite), so that I can alert you quickly, pls. send an email to pninab9 at gmail dot com. Subject: "For Dani". It will be forwarded to me... The cabin was free at least 2.5 hours, I've checked periodically. BTW, the rate was 5333 including grats.
  4. DH got his "espresso longo" there every day with the Classic....
  5. In principle, that's what "they" (X) wanted me to do, but I said: "NO" !! Since you forced me to take the "Always included" ("free wi-fi", CBP and grats), and actually the "free wi-fi" is quite useless, I want the option to use the 90 mins Elite whenever I want, for how many mins I want, and not starting now "in one piece". The Captain's Club concierge spoke to the Internet Lounge and arranged for me (and DH) to have the 2 options -- basic and Elite. I had to log in and out between the 2 options, but it worked great, for us.
  6. I'm thoroughly riveted with your review, enjoying your dry wit, your outfits and your pics, not to mention your writing style, which is not "academic" at all ☹️. Thank you for taking the time, I know it is a LOT of work. YES. We found Arte and, in general, the shows quite loud. And Munir was also our CA, and he was marvelous. From the first day he got the "hint" that we don't like the sheets tucked in, and also removed all the ornamental pillows [which he found crammed unceremoniously in the closet 😉]
  7. Yes, there is, pls. see below.... We boarded Beyond a month ago, and had the "free wi-fi" as part of the 3 perks. Turned out that the "free wi-fi" is the basic one, which only allows you to text via Whatsapp (which is used almost exclusively in Israel), or check your emails. Should you want to talk, send pics/videos, you'll have to upgrade... We were thoroughly disappointed in being somewhat misleaded on the term "free wi-fi", but, being Elite, we used our 90 minutes each to send pics/videos and to call home, beside using the real free wi-fi in ports.
  8. I've found an OVB #7718 (5745$ including grats), and it disappeared moments later.... BUT, I think that 2 adults + 2 kids in one room, and having the 2nd adult as "no show" opens up much more possibilities than finding a cabin for 3. I'll keep looking for this configuration.
  9. @DaniDanielle I have another idea, since there are plenty of interior cabins... Two inside guarantee ... with you or Charlie as "figure head" in one of them...
  10. The information provided by @marazulin this post is correct. We bought our tickets on this site (the day before), skipped the line and went straight to the machines to scan our passes. Here is the official website. It's kind of clunky, but it works. https://etickets.tap.gr/webengines/tap_b2c/english/tap.exe?PM=P1 The region is ATTICA The site is ACROPOLIS AND SLOPES Pick the date Pick a time. The time is for statistical purposes only, but the ticket gives you the right to enter without waiting in line whenever you show up that day. Pick the number of persons. Pick "single use" or "combined" which gives you access to other sites. Checkout. It was very hot, even though we were there very early. And crowded, with many groups just jamming the way.
  11. Our 2nd time in Santorini with the Beyond. The first time we took the "speed boat" to Oia (run by a private company), walked up 1/2 mile to the bus, to Oia, and from there, after 3 hours, to Thira. in 2014 it was 25 Euro pp. We waited quite a lot of time in the boat, until it was full. I wanted to avoid sitting "duck" in a boat for half an hour or more due to the Covid situation, so this time, we opted for the ship excursion.... which is a rarity for us. The math was -- 55$ pp (including vouchers for the cable car - Athinios, Oia, Thira) vs. private speed boat (30 Euro pp + 6 Euro pp for the cable car down). Yes, the ship's excursion was more expensive, but it ran smoothly, without any waiting time. For our peace of mind, it was well worth the difference in price.
  12. The only difference would be the itinerary. Personally, I'd go with one which includes North Seymour [I've been on Xpedition when it carried 96 passengers]. Elizabeth Bay is also amazing.
  13. I forgot to mention that this really cute little town has also a very interesting museum -- "Katakolon Museum of Ancient Greek Technology is a small museum situated next to the train station at the entrance of Katakolon town". DH, who is a technology buff, has found it fascinating.
  14. I have very little faith in the train... seems to me this train is "fata morgana" 😁 If you don't want to spend money on a "special" taxi, try "Katakolon to Olympia Bus Service", and send them an inquiry email. For 10 Euro pp return, it was a very good deal, and we had more than 2 hours at Olympia.
  15. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an enjoyable and detailed report. We were on board Beyond a few weeks ago, and our first stop was Katakolon. I'm a "researcher" and had the train to Olympia and its schedule duly noted... Moreover, on the train's site they mentioned that when ships are "in town", they add more trains to Olympia. The train was very appealing, air conditioned, nice views, and, for 10 Euro pp return was, on paper, a "steal" 😁 I'm always a "Plan B type", and decided to research some more. I've found a bus to Olympia for the same price, and the hours fitted more on my plan. I'm so glad we opted for the bus, since, it turns out, "Plan A" was not feasible at all...
