  1. We had the exact same experience on both portions of our b2b. The Riojas were for The Wake......the other two, Extra Virgin.
  2. The folks who scan your carry-on luggage might have an issue, but hopefully it's one that can be addressed by Virgin personnel in the terminal. Just politely explain the situation and hope for the best. The worst thing that could happen is they don't let you bring it on, and you're out $20.
  3. In my post-cruise survey, I gave them a list of things I would have bought.
  4. I didn't even see robes for sale. A missed opportunity if you ask me.
  5. I meant to say, "you at least get one bag"....and yes, it's HUGE! Since we were on a B2B, we got 1 bag each sailing.
  6. With Deep Blue Perks, you do get at least one bag of free laundry, and it was ready the very next day, not the 3-5 days it would take on Princess!
  7. What cabin number were you assigned before the upgrade, and what cabin number did you end up with?
  8. Ship: Scarlet Lady Cabin#: 8034A Deck #: 8 Cabin Category: Limited View Sea Terrace Sleeps: 2 Cabin Location: AFT Terrace/Window/Obstruction: Terrace with minor lifeboat obstruction (I forgot to take a pic!) Noise Issues?: No Wind Issues?: No Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: No Hammock: Yes Metal/Glass Terrace: Glass Advantages/Problems: Loved being close to the aft stairs. Just one deck down to the Dock Would You Book Again?: In a heartbeat. Comments: We loved the cabin and it's location, and have 2 more sailings booked close by.

  10. I've found that sending a message via the app when something isn't quite right works wonders. One afternoon, the dock outside quickly became very crowded, and there was only one waitress, and she was really "in the weeds". I sent a message saying that we've been sitting there for 20 minutes and she needs help. Within minutes a few more servers showed up, and then even more. Sailor Services referred to them as their "quick response team" or something like that. We were dining in the Wake one night, and I asked our waitress if we should order a bottle of champagne from her, or if we should shake, and she said, "shake". We tried shaking 3 times, and each time it said there was an error because they couldn't figure out our location, so the waitress said she would take care of it. 10 minutes later, someone showed up with our champagne. Don't be afraid to ask for help, that's what they're there for.
  11. We were on 8, close to the aft stairs and 99% of the time couldn't tell if the ship was moving or not, even when using thrusters to push away from the dock. We're booked for next October's TA on the Valiant, and will be in the same general area. The cabins are very quiet, even when music is playing in a nearby venue, we never heard it in our cabin. I don't think you'll have any problem at all on 10 mid.
  12. Bar Tab is for drinks only. It can not be used for excursions, in shops or the casino. We had a hefty balance left, so we bought bottles of booze and champagne.
  13. We were on a B2B. The first sailing had 1700, and the 2nd only had 1K. Our reservations were always for 8pm...there was usually nobody in line, but it there was a line, it was always short, and moved quickly. Grab & Go always seemed stocked, and everything that we ordered drink-wise was available. We are not pool people, so that's never been a concern of ours. We were able to find lovely quiet spots anytime we wanted to. The ship, the crew, and our fellow sailors were all fantastic. The only time there was a wait that was longer than it should was during our first day in Bimini. Everyone returned to the ship early because of the heavy winds, and the "Dock" only had one waitress making the rounds. I simply sent a text via the app to guest services that this poor waitress was in the weeds, and before you knew it, they had an entire team of folks show up to help get food & drink orders taken/served. I was very impressed with how quickly they responded.
  14. This is getting waaay off topic, and the last I respond to this nonsense, but check the dates....and I can assure you, I have no interest in posting over there ever again. My apologies to everyone else that are here for the Virgin Voyages info.
  15. Complaining about a sub-par cruise is not hate. For years I was nothing but supportive of Princess, but you wouldn't know that because you've only been a member since May. Here's a couple of reviews I dug up in a few secs. It helps to do some homework before slinging mud. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=679390 https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=663102
  16. Scarlet Lady: Riviera Maya February 26 - March 3 https://virg.in/JJsR
  17. I originally planned on posting about my on board experience over there, but that forum is filled with hate. I'm not going to waste my time. Someone will eventually pick up on the fact that I don't post there anymore, and figure it out.
  18. We just disembarked the Scarlet Lady after 9 glorious days......we're cancelling all cruises on other lines. We're hooked. In every cabin, there should be a copy of the "Red Book". It's loaded with great info, so I photographed each page and made a PDF of it so you can read it before boarding. VV Red Book smaller-compressed.pdf
  19. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I worked on one scene in "Dumb and Dumber Too"
  20. We're booked on next year's TA as well. This will be our first Halloween while cruising. I'm sure it will be wild!
  21. We’re currently on the SL and booked this with a future cruise deposit. We ended up with $900 in sailor loot in total. $600 from the deposit, another $200 from the red hot sale, and $100 from our TA.
  22. The ship that is mentioned in the thread you are referring to was based in Europe, and is now on its way to Miami, where I can assure you there will be pallets of wine waiting to be brought on board.
  23. I worked for a south Florida wine and liquor distributor for years. There is not shortage of wines in the price range Princess is buying. Maybe that are not paying their bills
  24. We’ve been too busy enjoying everything on Virgin. It’s turn-around day. Only 20 of us on board!
