  1. This is why my wife said to keep it in December. I snagged a 10am check in time and was planning on cancelling it, but that is the perk she loves. Straight to the room to drop off the luggage and then going to lunch unencumbered. I try to get her to just check everything, but she will not.
  2. Five minutes! Bet you wished you had bought it then! There is no price you can put on being on the cruise ship five minutes earlier.
  3. I cruised last month on the Pride. No one even mentioned the vaccine or covid tests during check in. They also did not collect the health forms we filled out. We were through check in five minutes. Nowhere you can reach in a seven day cruise from the US still requires a vaccine or a covid test when arriving by cruise. Canada and Bermuda have dropped the requirement. Only China and Australia are still doing this now.
  4. What are the options - what time does it start and what is the latest you can embark? Earliest check in time I have seen is 10am. I arrived in Tampa last month at 9:35 and they let me check in, I had a 10am check in time. I was seated at 9:50 and boarding started at 10:33. The latest one can usually board is 3pm. For the passport issue, have her take a birth certificate and drivers license just in case, but she should be ok. If this cruise did something like a panama canal entry, she would be denied boarding. "Carnival highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel. This will enhance the debarkation experience as delays may be expected upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet their ship at a foreign port should they miss their scheduled port of embarkation and allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends due to an emergency to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications." "To enter the Bahamas, you must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of departure. British and American passport holders can enter with less than six months remaining on their passports if visiting for up to 21 days. All visitors require a return or onward ticket, confirmed hotel booking (or letter of invitation if staying at a private address) and proof of funds to sustain their trip."
  5. Looks like she is Entertainment Casting Director for Holland cruises now. Guess the resort thing did not last.
  6. Yes and Yes. I have never failed to obtain it though when checking daily. Supposedly the quantity varies based on how many priority cruisers are on each cruise.
  7. Anyone remember the name of the woman cruise director who left to run an all inclusive resort? I think she was on the Liberty in 2019?
  8. Yes, they should be ready at 1:30, but know this is a variable on each cruise if something is occurring, like a late arrival or coast guard inspection this can get pushed back.
  9. Family of three we travelled with on our last cruise texted me while we were sitting in the main lounge for the evening show and said save us a seat, and I thought crap, just get here if you want a seat. I tell the family to just spread out a little and we can scrunch back when they get here. Well the pre show actually starts and they are no where to be found, so we give up the seats and someone sits down. They arrive after the show started and were miffed we did not have their seats waiting. I told them when the show started, I assumed you had changed your mind.
  10. We love the pictures, but there are no real packages anymore. buying many pics is about the same price per pic as one now. We also did a group picture last month on the Pride.
  11. You eat less than I do clearly, I am good for nothing after dinner, better catch me before.
  12. And you should not. That is a full time paid employee making a minimum 13 an hour in my state and they are not even cleaning the rooms anymore until checkout unless requested. Tipping culture is out of control in our country.
  13. It is the same staff now. Look around in the Buffet and your evening meal waiter is there working in some fashion. We spoke to ours for some time in the buffet last month, he was serving desserts.
  14. I believe people would tip, but not that high of an amount. Back in the old days I thought I was tipping well, but I certainly was not dropping $406 on the last night of a 7 day cruise as I do now with auto gratuities. I was tipping more like $200 at the end of a seven day cruise. I very much preferred that though and not because it was a lower amount. The family loved tipping the people who made our cruise great back then.
  15. I have a problem with this lately also. Gratuity for my cruise last month was 23% of the fare. Service just did not achieve the standard that I would expect for 23%. Socks and Underwear left in the cabin from the previous cruise. Slow service at dinner and never delivering the coffee I ordered, just not a 23% standard. I know this is due to pressure Carnival is putting on them to do too much, but still.
  16. This was the reported breakdown when it was 12.95. Housekeeping Team: $4.05 ($5.05 for suites) Dining Team: $6.40 Alternative Services: $2.50 Lots of rumors about Carnival taking a cut in this latest raise. Not that those rumors are new.
  17. Yes, this! Tell them the story you just told us and they will take care of you.
  18. Exactly, Airtags and Tiles and all of those types of trackers are using other phones to locate your tag, so if it is in a place in which people just do not get within 30 to 40 feet of it, it will not be tracked.
  19. 16 for Diamond and Platinum. 14 Days for everyone else.
  20. Only change I am aware of in the last year is that Steak and Eggs is no longer a filet mignon as it was for so long.
  21. Yes, you can do it and you do not have to be linked in any way. There is a search function in the dinner reservation section that will allow you to search any adult on the ship by name. The only snag is that children do not appear, so have them make the reservation and include you if they have children. We did this last month with people we met onboard, but we could not see their son in the app. When they would make a reservation that included us, we were immediately notified in the app.
  22. Look up the class action lawsuit. They must make amazing money since they survived that and just kept on selling.
  23. People like to confuse Check in time and Boarding time if you are confused at some of the answers. At midnight exactly 14 days before your cruise you will be allowed to complete online check in which will also include choosing a check in to the terminal time which is first come first available. The reason this may be different from boarding time is that the ship is not ready that early. You may check is as early as 10am, but boarding usually starts around 11. Keep in mind that you can also purchase Faster to the Fun which will give you Priority boarding even as a first time cruiser. This will also allow you to check in at your leisure and not worry about check in time, but you must still pick a check in time at online check in.
  24. Oh wow, that is terrible. On our cruise in December on the Pride we never waited more than 10 minutes for YTD. We would check in each night when we left the room and the table would be ready when we arrived.
