  1. Wow, your only experience is Celebrity and did you like cruising Celebrity? Embrace the fun because frankly that is all Carnival does better than Celebrity. No way to sugar coat it, everything else is going to be a lesser experience, but hay it should have been much cheaper.
  2. Wait, but everyone understands they need to speak English on the ship right? Hate when people from other countries pretend they don't speak English so I have to start talking louder so they understand.
  3. If it only took me 7 minutes to get onboard. I would tell my wife to drink up, this ship is going to sink. When I get that lucky, it always balances out in the end.
  4. LOL, what we Carnivillains gonna do in Egypt?
  5. No free cold drinks at all, no juice, milk, unsweetened tea? Nothing?
  6. Thank you. Just Debarked the Carnival Pride Friday and was very unhappy with how far they have slid. I am hoping MSC can fill their spot.
  7. I know this has been discussed before, but does anyone have recent experience with MSC Meraviglia at Port Canaveral? They gave me a check in time of 2pm which would be later than I have ever boarded a cruise ship. I would really like to check in around 11am.
  8. We signed up on the ship on embarkation day. It can still be done in that way.
  9. We just cruised on the Pride with FTTF on December 18th. I was concerned FTTF would not be worth the money since we snagged a 10am boarding time, but it came in really handy. I caught an uber from the hotel at 9:35, was in the line at the terminal at 9:40, through security and check in and seated by 9:50 and on the ship at 10:37. We had priority tendering in Grand Cayman which was great and even though I told myself I would have no reason to stand in line at guest services. I needed it three times. Gift cards applied before cruise did not show on account FTTF debark tags and meeting location were not left in my room Changed my shuttle to the airport to the earlier shuttle The line when I went to guest services was a solid 30 people long each time so this felt like it paid for itself there. Then when I debarked of course I was guided from the ship in one of the first groups. I was off by 7:30.
  10. We just debarked the Pride on Friday. I had a 10am check in time and they let me in the line at 9:40. I was through security and check in and seated by 9:50 and we boarded the ship at 10:37.
  11. Frankly at the prices I am seeing right now, I will not cruise again with Carnival. I would rather pay a little more and be on RCCL or a little less and be on MSC.
  12. I see why he wants and maybe even needs to do this, but the second a Carnival cruise is the same price or even close to any other brand I am jumping ship. I cruise the best price I can find. I am not brand loyal to Carnival and the product they are delivering lately is not making that better.
  13. Yes, trying to avoid standing in line at guest services when I should be trying to fit six guys burgers in my gullet.
  14. I got it for the cruise I am taking next week. Like others said it is just a please go ahead and pay now ask. I do not remember it before this cruise.
  15. Cruise Cash nonrefundable? Can you not just go to Cherry on Top and buy a gift card with your cruise cash for any remaining balance to take home?
  16. Remember, check in time is Midnight the day your check in opens. You can usually snag a 10am check in time if you are awake at Midnight to grab it. As soon as check in opens, just jump right to check in time, then go back and fill out the rest.
  17. I have had it when it was a waste of money when people i knew behind me boarded the ship half an hour after me. I have also had it when it was well worth it. In New Orleans we boarded the ship at noon and a couple we know sat in the terminal until 4pm. Never found out what took so long to get people boarded, but it was certainly a day to be at the front of the line and not the back.
  18. The people in front of us had an 11:30 check in time and FTTF was not yet being sold again. I will be boarding again on the 23rd and will pay closer attention. I think if you are there early and there are not people waiting to board, they are just letting you in, but why not, fill those empty spots.
  19. Once upon a time it would have been, but now we live 20 minutes from the port and usually get off last so that we can leisurely collect our luggage and leave. We have debarking down these days and I love how we do it. I have a collapsible backpack I got on amazon that I always pack empty. We put everything possible in the checked bags and the rest in my backpack and get the last debark ticket. We leave our room when required and head to the restaurant for a nice meal and then find a quiet secluded place to play cards until our number is called. Then when we leave the ship our luggage is usually very evident in the terminal and we collect it and go.
  20. Yes, my cruise next week is also now sold out and missing from the list.
  21. This happened to me recently at Port Canaveral. I arrived at 10:15 for my 10:30 check in time and stood aside assuming that the people joining the line had an earlier time than me. No, they were ignoring check in times and I was standing there like a fool.
