  1. This was my point, if a suite can arrive any time they want, why worry about getting an early check in time. Choose 1pm and show up at 10.
  2. They should not, but they certainly can. Doubt they are that brazen though.
  3. Have them install whatsapp and get the cheap wireless plan onboard the ship. You will be able to use Wifi on Whatsapp and text home to them as long as they also have Whatsapp. Unlimited, instead of 50 cent a text.
  4. Also always check before leaving the ship and after. Carnival has made many incorrect charges to us over the years. I always wonder how many charges slip by people. I drink very little and almost every cruise a drink we did not have will appear on our bill.
  5. $200 and change on pictures is my largest purchase on a cruise.
  6. Changing a cruise port is one thing, but changing an embarkation port is not something that just happens with cruise lines. I would demand a full refund or make myself their new worst enemy.
  7. Titanic all the way and I am not joking. Love to watch a sinking cruise ship movie at sea.
  8. Really hoping Carnival drops all testing before my December cruise.
  9. OP said she was in a suite. I thought they could ignore boarding times?
  10. You are either not paying attention or are bad at seeing the signs in human behavior. They hate this. Most are dying inside when they have to do this. Clearly it is being forced upon them and you cannot ask them if they are cool with it because saying they are not would be the end of their jobs.
  11. I am very annoyed by dinner taking so long. They know when the shows start and the events occurring in the evening. No reason it should take more than an hour.
  12. I want Carnival to weather this storm, I really do, but they just don't seem to be making smart decisions. They keep cutting experience when they should be working hard to maximize revenue while providing an experience that brings new cruisers back. FTTF is a perfect example. This costs them almost nothing to provide, it is a pure profit maker. Boarding is almost back to normal, so start FTTF back up. I hate to say it, but they could even up the price further and still sell it out every time they offer it. Another good profit maker is sweetening the deal for suites while raising the cost a bit, provide extra points for suite bookings. They just have options for additional revenue they are not exploiting.
  13. If you still have the option, just choose Your Time Dining and then eat whenever you like. We always choose YTD and most of the time eat as soon as the MDR opens.
  14. I still wear a jacket to dinner every night, but each cruise there are less jackets at dinner in the MDR.
  15. I was just joking and not calling you out. This is the common joke I make with my kids constantly pretending to be the terrible American and saying things like, just add o to the end for spanish and speak louder. I would also hate to sit through six versions of the same announcement.
  16. No, you did not miss anything except the experience cruising once was. Seaday Brunch is a reduction in what service used to be packaged as an upgrade by a corporation trying to squeeze as much profit as possible out of every passenger.
  17. Wow, this is 2022 and we still have people not getting with the program and speaking English. I hate when I go to other countries, and they all pretend not to understand me. So not cool.
  18. Taking my first MSC cruise and an experience like this would likely make it my last. Just 4 hours getting on the ship alone might be enough to keep me from returning. Cruise lines should have a contingency policy for these eventualities. Staff reassuring people, explaining what is happening and why, handing out water bottles and finding shaded waiting areas for the lines. Not expensive stuff, but an indication that they understand this should not be occurring and are trying to help.
  19. Carnival is just bad at running large ships and I hope one day they will address that issue. Anything they have over 3500 passengers just ends in a week of waiting in line for everything.
  20. We have been taking the larger of these for the last 6 cruises and love them. We like to eat most meals on our balconies. Remember when someone asks where you got it, tell them that Carnival gives them out at guest services, but that they do not like to give them out and will say they do not have them, so you really have to push and maybe speak to a manager.
  21. Several Youtube videos I have watched pertaining to the Meraviglia appear to indicate that after you board the ship you must find a kiosk and start or load an onboard account for spending. I have already provided my credit card under Onboard Payments and register credit card during online check in, so why would this be necessary? Is this only if you did not provide a card at online checkin? Thanks
  22. I booked Bella and was able to select early dining and on my reservation it says Dinner time preference: early dining. So is this just a preference and I may be assigned late dining when I arrive on the ship? Then have to go to the maitre de to get changed?
  23. On the Meraviglia in January. I really hope the casino is non smoking. I would spend much more money in the casino if it were. I just cannot be in there with the smoke.
