  2. This is the houses standard cuvee They do make some much better Champagne. Good with canapés and chicken apparently😄 Many guests will like it,many guests will not. It's hard to please all,me I'm easily pleased Pol Roger Cuvee Winston Churchill is perfect.I'm drinking the 2013 at the moment.😁

  5. I didn't think that the tours were free. You pay for them upfront in your cruise fare surely.

  7. Thanks for you report. It is sometimes difficult to wade throught the quagmire but the only view and opinion is your own. Perhaps there are two Ovations 😀
  8. It used to be the Balmoral but it might be slightly expensive for Silversea now. It's the best hotel in Edinburgh.
  9. On all the times that I have eaten in TK and its a lot,I have never had tough meat or a poor dish. I like the chicken for two,the Aubergine Parmigiana and the steaks. I have steak tartar when they have it on as a special starter and have had numerous off the menu dishes prepared by Michael Sandoval who works for Thomas Keller. I agree that you should always be able to get a table when you walk in the MDR. Funny times we are in with hospitality. I have had a few poor meals on land and seen staff shortages. Better luck on your Encore trip
  10. I think the comparison in old versus new prices will dictate whether posters view it as positive or negative. OC used to be good value cruiseing now NC has upped the prices for the same ships as it had to but some guests will not be happy or able to pay the new prices.
  11. That's always a busy time as earlier diners are by now eating and most guests seem to arrive around 8pm. I have known times when the Maitre d' will ask guests if they can have a drink elsewhere and they will be contacted when their table is ready for them. There is also the problem that the MDR cannot accommodate all of the ships guests if they were all to decend on it at once. I like 8.30 onwards but I generally go to the TK bar and end up eating at TK mostly as early diners have gone by then.

  17. That's not acceptable to wait that long for a reply. When choosing a TA make sure that they know the luxury sector and ask them if they have been on any of the Seabourn ships.it makes such a difference if the TA knows the product that they are selling. My TA has intimate knowledge of the luxury sector,in fact he has joined Silversea Endeavour today. Happy sailing
  18. That's never happened to me at Carambola Beach before. I usually have a couple of Lobsters and they are not small. Always great work by the crew to make sure that we have a good time.
  19. This looks like an additional 5% discount if you are already a past Seabourn sailor which you are. I would ask your TA if he ever replies to contact Seabourn and get it sorted.
  20. Thanks for you Frank report on the Ovation. What a shame but I understand thatvthere are a few issues with staffing and experience. I do know that the Encore has been performing well and I will be there soon and again three more times before you get on in September. What time did you generally go to the main restaurant to dine?
