Usually we wait till day 2 to check on status. On almost all of our B2b Alaskan cruises regardless of time of year 350 or so days gets you in. Last year with just under 500 days we were in the top ten
It is included or if you sail standard you pay per day. However when employees go above and beyond we tip out extra. The amount of crew appreciation would not come close to what you would pay at land hotels and restaurants. Hopefully this thread will not encourage all the “I refuse to follow US tipping policy” people
Very true it is nice to have them at the table. At one time only “non essential” officers stayed for lunch and I still do not see the captain stay after photos and announcements
Princess is now supposed to be adding 18% to specialty dining so that takes care of that. Have not seen a baked Alaska parade since the restart. And we have no shoes that can be shined. Always tip out steward the last night since we top based on service it might be a little or a lot
But at one time the tokens were the exact size as quarters and you could make them work. I believe they have rectified this. On the Crown and the Emerald there were no tokens needed except for detergent. Going on the Ruby next month and we will see. We carry our own detergent sheets
Princess does not have tickets. You have a room account and a casino account they are separate. If a machine is not played for more than a few minutes it will put the money onto the casino account. When we were both quarantined and unable to cash out we contacted our CVP who worked with customer services and we got a check mailed to us but it took about a month
If you eat in a different venue each night I would just leave the auto gratuities on and not tip extra. I see no need to tip a concierge (who don’t exist on most ships). Since we eat most nights in reserve dining we do tip out the wait staff and the wait staff in Sabatini’s breakfast
Same here We tend to cruise 14 + days at a time 3-4 times are year. We found out back in the 1990’s that 7 days is way too short but since we were working we couldn’t take as many cruises as we can now. Also we have a cat with a lot of medical issues so we have a pet sitter who stays at our condo and that is pricy
Where they live really tells me nothing anyone can cruise in any area. The itinerary is what would count. I have found many Aussies on US cruises and other US people on Australian cruises.
I cannot remember the name but it was exactly $15 and only found in Vines. The menu in Vines is not all that long. At dinner there is usually an excellent old vines Zin for $18 so just a few extra dollars
The casino area is really the only indoor area on most ships that allow smoking. The Princess Theatre is in 2 levels so best to use the 7th deck to access it and avoid the 6th deck. This is mostly geared to Grand class ships
