  1. To me a gimlet should be served straight up not on the rocks. But maybe I am just old fashioned
  2. Without the back of the house employees the front of the house employees would not have the tools they need to make your cruise what you expect it to be. Call it tips or bonus whatever you like to me it is all the same. It would be the same as saying I didn’t go to guest services so I am going to hold back some cash. How many of you tip guest services when they solve a problem for you
  3. From the aft suites we have never had any noise issue. Don’t care for the midship locations even when I have bee using a cane after surgery
  4. So how do they get in ? When I have cruised on Royal class ships you needed a special card to access the lounge. If all elites could use it they would be overflowing out to the corridor
  5. Not hiding but not available. The only thing I have been able to use OBC prior to boarding is excursions. I guess that is why it is called On Board Credit
  6. But the pizza and sushi restaurants come with a few or if you have a package one of your causal dinings
  7. Just ask to speak to him or her not from the person who refused your order. They are all over the ship going from bar to bar
  8. Only one mini bar for elite. The 2nd set up is only for full suites
  9. We actually prefer the older ships to Royal class. The piazza on Royal class is ridiculously loud and very few drinking venues are away from the noise
  10. We stick to basics Grey Goose vodka up stirred not shaken and 2 Woodford reserve bourbon Manhattan light on vermouth stirred not shaken. Can’t go wrong with the old school drinks. If I want fruit juice I will order a glass of juice
  11. There is no sit down option on that ship especially on embarkation day. There is no venue for it. If they do a pop up it will have a cost to it or burning a casual dining credit. Sabatini’s is usually used for full suite breakfast and dinner. On the Crown they opened it for one lunch but it was the full price dinner menu
  12. I would never book the first cruise after a dry dock. Always things that need to be put in order. As for a cocktail party I assume that you are platinum or elite with Princess ? We have always gotten a invite although we never go to watered down drinks and sales pitches
  13. I might have gone to the casino after not getting an offer but we were in Victoria so the casino was closed
  14. Not a big deal. Twice I have uploaded photos for security and security on the ship took another. They are very particular about the security ones
  15. To be honest I find the service on Sabatini’s to be very quick since we only have an app and a pasta.
  16. It sounds like you ate in the MDR on embarkation night. My question is why didn’t you take the advantage of a free Sabatini’s dinner. Lots of pasta choices
  17. Since we are reserve diners and I don’t even own a tie I hope I don’t bring down your expectations. We have sailed at least 9 times since restart and long sleeve shirt is really my only change from what I wear on casual nights
  18. I am betting that many “big book” TA groups don’t want to be bothered like with other offers they don’t pass along. Really happy with our Princess CVP
  19. Kind of like at home I would dress differently eating at a fast food place than a sit down steak house
  20. There is no need to reserve the first night free specialty restaurant for full suites in advance. We have always just called the dine line and gotten the restaurant and time we like. They keep tables empty for suites.
  21. Personally we have not gotten any bounce back, snail mail or email deals. However by accident I clicked on a trip we had looked at before and lo and behold there were offers. Got ahold of our CVP and rebooked 2 cruises and saved around $13,000 on a 16 day Panama and a 17 day Alaska. Included plus and some free play
  22. It is a Texas state law. Their laws do not allow for drink packages and you can only serve alcohol that was bought in Texas. Therefore very few choices until out onto the high seas
