  1. Dentist is due to return from vacation tomorrow. First available appointment is a week from today, Monday. I can live with this for the time being but will call my regular out of network dentist if it flairs up. I know he'll see me immediately.
  2. Good news, indeed! Wishing her a smooth recovery with minimal pain. I can top your "not looking forward" day. I have a toothache and have to see a new dentist. Changed plans and my usual dentist isn't in-network. I once had a friend who always "topped" me. If I broke a nail, she broke 2. If I had a cold, she had the flu. If I had a sprained wrist, she broke her arm. If I had 2 exams in one day at school, she had 3. You get the picture. I hope I didn't sound like her! Hope your day goes by without much stress.
  3. As I'm relaxing in relative indoor AC comfort, I thought I'd share my Dallas area weather for this past week and next week. Relative low humidity so it's actually bearable. 4. Yes, I noticed that when I went back to look after you mentioned it. Photo technology is so amazing that photos can be altered.
  5. Crystal is pretty enough without changing the background, but I do like this one with the tree. Is that a cuff bracelet on her right hand?
  6. Debbie, I will post this story again. My friend's mother-in-law was 101, fell and broke her hip. Doctor advised against surgery due to her advanced age. Her 2 sons did not want their mother to live her remaining life stuck in a wheelchair in constant pain. Their mother was in complete agreement. Up until her fall she walked unaided; no cane, no rolator. So, against Doctor advisement she had the surgery. After successful surgery, she went to rehab, then back to her Assisted Living facility where she lived happily, participating in activities until she passed away at the ripe old age of 107. I wish your friend the same outcome.
  7. At first I thought Susan's gift to you was membership in a health club but this trip is so much better! @Momof3gurlzDeb, have a wonderful vacation with family as well as alone time with Andy.
  8. Not even close. Believe it or not, Orchard Beach, in The Bronx is a man made (artificial beach). Honest! Debbie, I am so sorry to read this. I hope she is kept comfortable with friends and family close by.
  9. I had about 5 pairs of these Candie's shoes in different colors. I would never go anywhere without a handbag matching my shoes. My, has times changed.
  10. @A&L_Ont Andrew, as always, thanks for taking us along. Your cruise reports are always highly anticipated and very enjoyable. I wonder what your plans will be for your and Lisa's 20th next year!
  11. Totally enjoyable! I am now in the middle of reading a sequel to My Cousin Vinny, Back to Brooklyn. It won't win a Pulitzer Prize, but it recreates some of the fun times of MCV. It starts out as Vinny and Lisa leaves Beechum County after the big court win. When I read the lines, I can hear and see Lisa and Vinny in my mind. Fun read of one of my favorite movies. Downloaded on my kindle for free with Book Bub. As you, I never tire of seeing the movie.
  12. All I know is that soon after moving here to TX from NY I was told what the REAL meaning of "bless your heart" is. From Google my friend: "Bless your heart" is a phrase common to the Southern United States. The phrase has multiple meanings and is used to express genuine sympathy but sometimes as an insult that conveys condescension, derision, or contempt. It may also be spoken as a precursor to an insult to mitigate its severity.
  13. Your 2nd knee replacement might surprise you by allowing you to recuperate quicker than the first and with less pain. This is my wish for you!
