  1. I assume you go to our stateroom and get your cards before going to a bar. Otherwise, I believe you can just give your stateroom number to the server and they know if you have a package or not. We did not attempt to get a drink until we were at lunch.
  2. We left our hotel via Taxi at 1010 and were walking onboard the ship at 1040. There was a separate line at the terminal for Suite and Pinnacle Guest. The security check for this line was a disappointment to us as there was only one scanner lane open and the queue was moving very slowly. Once we got past the security scanner there was a single station set up where one gentleman was checking documents. He reviewed our negative COVID-19 test results, our health questionnaire, and passports. Once we finished, he told us to go around the stanchions and proceed to the To Ship area. Here we were directed to a very crowded waiting area where we sat for about 10 minutes when we heard them call for passengers with canes, walkers, or wheelchairs to board followed by passengers with Key. After key they called Diamond and Diamond Plus, which was us. I never heard them call for Suite or Pinnacle Guest and do not think we missed that announcement. Once we cleared the gangway we were directed to proceed directly to our muster station to check in. We walked down to Deck four to the Icon Restaurant on the starboard side and checked in with the team there. Having already viewed the safety film, they reminded us of the seven short, one long blast and told us to come back to that location if we heard that signal. We then took an elevator up to deck 12 and ignored the signs saying that guest rooms would be available at approximately 1300 and walked all the way aft to the Concierge Club. We sat and relaxed for about half and hour before headed down to deck 9 and once again ignoring the closed doors, went to our stateroom and picked up or room keys. We then went back to the Concierge Lounge and waited until 1200 when we proceeded to Coastal Kitchen for lunch. After lunch we returned to our stateroom, which was open by then, and have been relaxing here listing to the announcement directling guest to check in at their assembly station about every 15 minutes.   3. Two weeks ago I was at an event in Las Vegas with approximately 25,000 attendee's. Mask were required in all the spaces where event sponsored activities, spread across three hotels and Caesar's Forum, took place. A least a dozen of the people I had 'close contact' with during this even tested positive yet my test was negative on the Wednesday following my arrival home on Monday. I did not have any symptoms and this past Saturday I tested negative as part of my Alaska cruise that sails today. I cannot explain, for instance why three of the six people I had dinner with the last night in town tested positive for COVID-19 within three days of arriving home and I never tested positive nor did three others at the same dinner. Nor can I explain why four of the 10-12 people I spent the most time with in bars and socializing tested positive and the rest of us did not. I do know that I received my second booster shot four days before leaving home to go to Las Vegas and I did wear a mask when I was around large groups of people and throughout the event I was attending except while eating or drinking. I am in favor or pre-cruise testing despite all of the comments and rationale others give for why it is not 100% effective at preventing the spread of COVID-19.
  4. When you complete the form it ask you questions about your dates, for example we were asked for our ship's sailing date and we could not select the date until it appeared on the form. So I do not believe it is possible to submit it too early.
  5. The information came from one of the emails from the Suite Concierge. "Parking: From the Guest Parking lot, shuttle is available for transferring guest to terminal 91 and it will be 4 mins ride(The Charge for the parking is $27/day) Rideshares (Uber/ Lyft) and Private vehicle drop off in front of Grey Building (7 mins walking distance to the terminal91) Taxis only drop off in front of the terminal91 ( kindly suggest you to take a taxi )" Unless something goes terribly wrong, we definitely plan to be onboard the September 5th sailing as well.

  7. And a very good morning one and all. We both. managed to get our fair share of sleep yesterday, after not getting a lot on Saturday and traveling coast to coast on Sunday. We have just finished breakfast at the hotel restaurant and are relaxing in our room and re-packing thing in preparation for our taxi ride to the ship. I found it interesting that the rideshare drop off point for Quantum of the Seas is a 7 to 9 minute walk from the boarding area but taxi's can drop you off at the boarding area. This was according to information we received in one of the emails from the ship. When she read that my wife made a command decision that we would be taking a taxi to the ship instead of the usual Uber/Lyft. We have an 1100 boarding time and are hoping to arrive at the ship no later than 1015 - 1030, since suite guest are allowed up to an hour before or after scheduled boarding time. I know the room will not be ready but want to make some reservations that need to be done once connected to the ship's WiFi. My next post should be after we are onboard.
  8. It is 72 hours before arrival in Canada if traveling by air. So you can complete your ArriveCAN documentation as early as Wednesday for a Saturday arrival. If arriving in Canada via a cruise ship, you can do it 72 hours before the ship's sailing date. As an example, we are departing today from Seattle and will be arriving at Vancouver on Sunday, September 4th. We completed our ArriveCAN last week.

  10. I believe you, I am just reporting what our experience has been. I have no explanation for why our experience has been different from yours. This has happened when we were on the same ship / WiFi system as well as when we were on a cruise and she was at home. It may be that her phone was not configured for WiFi calling. My phone, like yours, is always configured for WiFi calling.
  11. Thanks. I had not idea. I've been to Seattle a few time but never really dug into anything beyond a couple of tourist places, e.g. Pike Place fish market and the original Starbucks location, which I understand is not really the first Starbucks the but first place where they started selling beverages vs just beans or grounds.
  12. We completed our Health Questionnaire on the app in preparation for today's sailing. There were three questions: 1. Are you fully vaccinated for COVID-19? 2. Have you received a COVID-19 booster? 3. Will you be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any time during your curise? Whether or not there will be more or different questions at the pier later today when we board I guess we will find out when we get there.
  13. You do if you want to text someone who uses a different phone platform than the one you use. For example, when we are connected to the ship's WiFi we cannot exchange text messages with our daughter who has an android phone. We can exchange messages with our son who has an iPhone the same as us.

  16. Delete the app and then re-install. As @Another_Criticsaid, the best place to find a list of drinks is the app. But, any drink that your normally drink at home can most likely be found in at least one of the bars, although there may need to be made allowances for supply chain issues.
  17. We have an uneventful flight from Washington Dulles to SeaTac, arriving almost 30 minutes early. Retrieved our checked bags and walked across the skybridge and down to the 3rd floor to the Uber/Lyft pickup area and ordered a Lyft to take us to the hotel. It was a 7-minute wait for our Lyft ride to arrive and we were quickly on our way to our hotel. Arriving at the hotel, I had expected that our room would not be ready but much to my surprise our room was ready and within 10 minutes of arriving at the hotel, we were in our room. I left the wife and went up to the lounge and picked up some soda, water, and snacks for the room. I just went into the Royal App a few minutes ago and found that I was able to complete the Health Questionnaire and finish the check in process on the app. Not sure if there will be an additional health questionnaire tomorrow because the one for check in today only had three questions and on our last cruise there were more questions.
  18. When I go to the app, select Daily Planner, and scroll through the days and times, I can see all of the offerings including the main production but I am not seeing anything for TWO70.
  19. Show times in the Royal Theater have been 8:00 pm and 10 PM. From what I understand TWO70 and the Music Hall performance times vary day to day.

We are sailing on Quantum tomorrow and I was just able to complete the. three health questions on the app. They are on the Check In portion and ask (1) have you been vaccinated, (2) have you had a booster, and (3) will you be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any time during your cruise. I remember there being more questions on our last cruise but I am a 'go with the flow' kind of a guy, most of the time.

  22. If you enjoy Old Fashioneds, see if you can find a bar that will serve a Zacapa Old Fashioned. It's something I became very acquainted with on our last couple of Celebrity cruises, until they ran out of Ron Zacapa due to supply chain issues. I think you will like it.
