  1. You are most welcome and thank you for your service as well.
  2. Congratulates. On that note I am pouring myself three fingers of Ron Zacapa to celebrate your success.
  3. Spent almost every month Nov '70 -- Feb '73 off the coast. Was in Hong Kong on liberty the morning the news broke that the peace treaty had been signed.
  4. As was stated earlier, with Move Up you get the ammenties of the new room but no the perks. e.g. Suite amenities are Access to the Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club and Luminae. The perks of booking a suite class rooms are the OBC, WiFi, prepaid gratuities, and Premium Beverage Package. As also noted, when in the Retreat Lounge/Michael's Club the drinks are complementary but not on the Retreat Sundeck or in Luminae.
  5. One my last three sailings, the crew practiced emergency evacuation drills on inport days. To include actually using some crew members as passengers and launching the lifeboats. While I agree that it's going to be chaos for many if it ever happens, the new form of muster is no worse than the old form in preparing passengers. Noting is going to go right 100% of the time no matter how prepared you think you may be.
  6. I need to find mine. I bought mine at Army Surplus. Us sea based swabbies were not issued boonie hats.
  7. Safe Travels. Hopefully those high winds today have not impacted your flight.
  8. Might I be so bold as to recommend a stop at the Martini Bar before venturing forth to your Muster Station and Suite. Then again, your Butler may already have drinks waiting for you! Anyway, you certainly deserve one or two before settling down.
  9. There has already been quite a bit of discussion on this on the RCI board. As usual with CC, some are vocal against, some are vocal for, and some could care less one way or the other. We are the same. Only once in the last five years have we booked other than a suite, and that was when our son and daughter and their families were on the same cruise with us. If we were not in a suite or did not have a beverage package I am sure we would give it more consideration.
  10. I did this onboard the Silhouette last April. We had shots of four different Macallan's provided to us, iirc there were four of us, not counting the Macallan expert who was our host (a senior bar tender). Of the four bottles, only two were served on board but one of the others was being sold in the Ports Merchandise (liquor) store. All I can say is the experience reaffirmed for me that I prefer rum and bourbon over scotch. OBTW, here is a photo of what we were served.
  11. When we sailed on Edge we had the same waiter every night and predominately the same assistant waiter. There were two assistants covering a larger area than our waiter, if that made sense. We also prefer having the same waitstaff the entire cruise.
  12. We are signed up for the Food & Wine Paring Workshop but that's totally different. Not seeing anything currently offered for our upcoming cruise at that price range.
  13. But it's easier if she goes to the cabin and watches the video because she's going to need to have her Sea Pass card with her when she checks in at the muster station.
  14. Thank you. Glad to see they have it. Was on the last cruise we did, RCI Harmony of the Seas, and it worked really well for the most part. There were a couple of times when the bandwidth/speed was very poor but it still worked
  15. Which ship? The experience is different depending on whether the ship has been upgraded to StarLink or not. The basic WiFi does not permit streaming video which makes loading some website impractical. If all you want is to send text messages or email, that should work. There have been a couple of post indicating that the basic and premium WiFi are going away and that it will be Premium (Surf + Stream) only going forward with StarLink. Take a look here:
  16. That reads and looks amazin but our port call is 0700 - 1400. So now way to make an afternoon trip. And cruising our not, my days of starting to drink at 0700 - 0800 are long behind me !! Although I still recall how refreshing a nice cold adult beverage was after getting off an i hour shift at 0800.
  17. Ours was that way but under "Class" it said Sky which is one of the suite classes. Point that out to them if there is any question. I hope whomever was monitoring the line was sending them away. Key passengers should not be in the Suite queue.
  18. My wife does not cook or eat lamb nor will she let me cooking inside the house. She says it 'smells like meat." DUH -- so I eat lamb almost every time it is offered when we cruise.
  19. Our Son gave us a pair of Apple iTags this past Christmas. He bought a 4-pack and decided he did not need them all. It was fun to track our bags as we wandered around the airports.
  20. I encourage more alcohol while you deal with the delays. I have high confidence that you'll get there but I cannot speak for what shape, nerves wise, you'll be in. One good thing going for you is the time difference definitely works for you. I'll be especially interested in what you choose to do for your stop in Puerto Vallarta. Our next cruise will be making a stop there before proceeding to LA (San Pedro) and I am not sure what we are going to do. We went there once before but I believe it was just too hot and humid to do anything there seek the air conditioned comfort of the ship.
  21. I wish you the best with American. There are three airlines I will not fly -- Spirit, Frontier, and American.
  22. Question - Anyone know the current status of Starlink deployment on Millie? Last schedule I saw showed it would be sometime in March, IIRC.
  23. Yes, it will also be our first on M-Class and first Panama Canal. We've been to Cartagena, Colon, and Puerto Vallarta before so I am not sure what we will be doing in those ports. Last April when we were in Cartagena we just went to the little wildlife park at the end of the pier and watched the parrots, peacocks, flamingo's and even saw a deer.
  24. I have frequently used the ATMs in the airport to get Euro’s or Pounds when traveling in Europe and the UK. I have found the exchange rate is based on the banks and even with the bank ATM fees a better deal than the currency exchange booths at the airport. I have also never had an issue tipping tour guides in US dollars.
